I thought he just wanted to deliver the magic sword to them. The delivery troll was just a bit too aggressive. You just can't reanimate good help these days.
He wanted to test Enri's capabilities as a war chief. When she successfully recruited Ogre Refugees, she demontrated a command level in excess of what she needed to command the goblins.(Also notice that Enri is becoming more physically fit as if she is engaging in an activity level like that of the goblins, even though she is only engaging in the level of activity she was prior to rhe incidents. Long story short, commanding the goblins, who are loyal as her summoned creatures causes her to gain a percentage of the experience they gain, which is causing her to actually gain levels as they do. )
Mafia aren't actually 'Evil' though. Driven by profit mostly. Ainz' character alignment is actually 'Evil' so if he becomes true to his character we should see a dramatic shift in the cartoon.
Chibi...the bit about the relationship part is making you seem like the nazarick npc... "Sasuga Ainz-sama!! You were able to think multiple steps ahead!" Ainz: "Oh...Of course"
the reason for Ainz resurrecting the troll as him testing Lupusregina. He reprimanded her in the last episode, but he needed to test her to see if she learned her lesson and ensure the safety of Enfrea, Lizzie and Enri. If those two died Ainz would be at loss for developing new potions and a village with which he had good relations. Thus, he created a controlled situation where a group of undead trolls attacked the village with less risks to his investments. As for why Lupusregina didn’t step in BEFORE the trolls attacked, or BEFORE Enfrea nearly got on-shotted …I guess Lupusregina is going to be learning in baby-steps??? Also remember that Carne was leaving asking Ainz for help as a last resort. They wanted to become more self-sufficient and able to protect themselves. If Ainz respects anything its self-sufficiency. While he wants to keep the village in his pocket it’s also good that they avoid leeching off Nazarick and cause him to have an all-take no-give relationship. Guu’s magic sword was Ainz indirectly rewarding the villagers for their efforts to grow. As for inviting the trio to Nazarick: Ainz wants to be a good boss, possibly even to Enfrea though he wasn’t an NPC. He gives out rewards when a subordinate achieves results in his work. Though he probably was further indebting the village and making a show of force by having all the maids present during the Nazarick visitation I think that was secondary to the above motives. Ainz is rather benign unless provoked or prompted by his more hostile subordinates in my opinion.
+Kingof Jokers If an invisible sadistic werewolf cleric is sure you can survive one shot, that they can step in whenever you would've died, and that they can heal any injury you get; why not leave the poor boy get his organs kicked in by a troll, have it look like he is going to go splat in front of his lover, and just save him at the last moment and heal him? Remember she is a sadist, she enjoys causing pain and heart ache. Exactly what failure is there in her job of protecting, if at the end of the day her targets are unharmed (physically) and there wasn't any chance of them dying without her interfering?
Possible, but following a reprimand by Ainz you would think she would be more on her toes. Pretty risky, most of Nazarick seems pretty bad at judging the New World standards beyond "weaker than us." Might just be her settings interfering.
Kingof Jokers I imagine she was quite careful. Just sitting next to the troll, cloaked, during the whole battle. Remember she wasn’t a second late to save them. Also, keep in mind, letting them sweat it out might endear them to Ainz more, so it’s possible she thought the test was to see how little she could interfere without letting the targets die.
+mathig nihilcek I completely agree. She was probably right next to the troll the entire time; and I am sure that she was very confident that the knee to the chest wasn't going to OHK him. I am also sure she justified her Sadism by saying that letting them sweat it out would benefit Ainz. A lot of people try thinking of logical reasons for doing the things they already want to do. I am sure Beta is the same way.
My two issues with this season so far is 1. The CGI models at times are like berserk levels of bad. 2. These episodes feel so, so damn short it's pretty annoying. Overall though, Im enjoying the anime adaption of the novels and its pretty damn loyal to it. Which I love.
The second issue isn't really an issue though, the episodes are as long as any other anime, it's just that when you enjoy something a lot, time flies by much faster. If anything you should praise the anime for it, but ye the CGI is really bad, animation in general isn't nearly as good as other madhouse shows. As a reader of the light novel, I can say that this adaptation, altough pretty nice, it doesn't do the source material enough justice, the LN is just too good in comparison. This is all due to low budget though, and man overlord is such an underrated series.
Black Ace freeway I think that's only half the case, I know what you mean but that's not entirely what I'm feeling when I realized the episode is already over.
I don't think so. As far as I remember, in the LN Albedo even sat with Enri and co. while Ainz showed the little sister around (haven't watched the episode yet). But if you think about it, this is but a mere human. I don't believe Albedo would draw the conclusion that Ainz would ever in his life do something with a simple human, because of how lowly humans are.
This event had a double meaning. Not only was it ment to put them in his debt but it also acted as a test for the maid to make sure she would save them.
Possibly threefold meaning, Nphri is a companion that also knows he is Mommon the adventurer. Ainz might have also encouraged the love interest as a "reward" for Nphri's discretion.
I don't think that was an intended result he was after from reading the LN. I don't think he has the ability to think something out to that degree. Now Demiurge I could see thinking of that as well as probably Albedo but definitely not Ainz. It was more of a happy coincidence it worked out that way and if ever ask he would outwardly take credit to preserve his image.
You're probably right. I haven't read the LN so I can only draw from the anime thus far but Ainz does seem to have a knack for stumbling into happy coincidences. Still, I kinda like the idea he did it intentionally as it would suggest his human side is still alive somewhere deep down. :)
oh he still has a human side. it's just as a human he was more of a neutral person and with the change he has become more evil leaning. I haven't read the most recent LN but up to where I am in v12 has has not developed an outright hatred of the living as a true Lich would have. The world is just failing to make him care about anything outside of his NPCs.
*I LOVE Ainz-Sama's way of doing things, also his darker, more undead self too.* Also I 100% with Narzerick calling Humans Lower Life-Forms, because its true.
I thought Ainz had a different motive: to test Lupusregina again (fail; she allowed the Alchemist to get badly injured) and try out if undead Trolls are better than living ones. Still, the following scene gave me a Narco-vibe: show off your wealth; look: we're generous and we protect our friends; and still being creepy...
That troll nearly killed Nfirea ... as far as plans to get subordinates indebted, I'd call that a fail ... Lupusregina should have stepped in much sooner.
coldlizard 2 but how did she know that he would even be able to take the first hit? He was down to his last hitpoints. If she misjudge it only slightly, she would have failed her mission!
Ainz is more of a "Lawful Neutral" character. He sees things like humans as "NPCs" to accomplishes his orders. He actually trying to improve the villagers by helping them grow as warriors/survivors & dude pretty much give a bonus item (the troll sword) to the goblins. It's like playing RTS, you have soldiers to go around wilderness to farm EXP. Also, the most important part here, NOBODY DIE! Clearly Ainz trying to transform the village to become a first settler's city that he personally grow.
Croz Raven I don’t think you understand how dnd morality works Indirectly controlling a village and putting them in danger so they are in debt to you is an evil act. Evil characters don’t have to be evil all the time but Ainz is definitely leaning evil.
Roberto Garcia I see, so teaching your kids a bit hard in sports considered "evil" now . . . 'cause that's exactly what Ainz did, teaching his "kids" (npcs) to get EXP & become self sustained enough. Being "manipulative" don't always mean he's a bad individual. Also, he already take some massive safety measures to ensure nobody died. The whole thing is just for "science," a calculative experiment. The village already have been territory anyway & his principals ALWAYS protecting his loyal subjects. Also, give dude a break here, he lost his empathy "specifically" in humanity. Even with that, so far he still managed not to kill innocent people (innocent npcs). Yes, he could definitely become a "lawful evil" so to speak, but he still not showing any traits of a tyrant or mercilessly killing innocents.
I wouldn't say he added Nemu to the list because of respect, from what I can tell he adds her for a few reasons, one she is a close connection to Enri as the village elder and by extension to Nfiera who is trying to make red potions for Ainz, also he now has a personal connection to her like an uncle would, and even someone who he may be able to mold or have her do some other thing that will be of use to him. I also love what Ainz did and how smart and cunning he is but not really anymore evil then the first season because he made sure they would not die, but in the first season he almost let them die but saved them on a whim ( I think out of respect for touch-me and his idles on saving people).(deep breath.... sigh) one last thing, I doubt even demiurge could plan to make Enri and Nfirea love each other here. (P.S. this started out as a one or two line comment and I ended up ranting lol, thx for reading all the way to the end)
yeah but that doesnt explain a lot of things like he being transported to the New World, all the NPCs are no act like real living beings and why is he the only one etc. So in short, thats not a very popular fan theory
Excellent points! I would like to mention something you likely noticed, but forgot since there was a lot to cover in such a great episode: Ainz also wants to see if there can be growth past the limitations of levels for those he cares for. For this reason, the attack wasn't just to create appreciation/debt, but also to test Carne Village's defenses/skill and increase experience/confidence. (They have been drilling and preparing for this, after all. Better a practice attack that they think is real to get experience rather than the real thing showing up against the inexperienced) In the aftermath, the magical sword he didn't withhold is put to use by one of the village defenders increasing their defenses further, the villagers--now comrades-in-arms with one another--feel their effort/drills are rewarded/justified, Nphi and Enri have now felt the weight of the roles they're maturing into and embraced it... And all it cost to gain all this was some wood broken down in the attack/some arrows. Now that's a good deal!! Lastly, speaking as someone who has studied history, too much peace often breeds discontent, weakness and a number of other problems. It truly was a brilliant move on Ainz' part.
He has always been a villain with human attributes but he slips further away from his humanity the more he goes on, therefore making him more villainous
he has never been a villain. just like a undercover cop he's acting, and the magic that regulates his emotions is the reason he lacks empathy. he is more like a terminator than a villian. the terminator was never a villain it was just a machine without feelings or emotions, its had goals that it had to achieve. ainz is the terminator movie from the t-800 perspective.
First time watching, clear voice, not talking in one tone, naming interesting facts that people might have missed, showing geniune love for the show, You dont love this show if you havent subbed to chibi yet ;)
He was also testing his maid lupusregina. To make sure she would properly follow his orders and to help her become a better servant like he did with cocytus.
i was actually happy when nemu praised nazrick, i remember reading it it in the light novel, and now finally seing it for the first time made me smile throughout the whole episode
The village and all of them are already in his debt from when he first saved them. He forced the army to attack so he can test the maid and her judgement as well as make inferia and enri even more grateful to Ainz
This is probably gonna be lost in all the other comments, but your thoughts on Ainz seeming to lean more and more towards his darker side gave me an idea...and now it’s something that I would love to see in the anime. Basically, I think one of the most epic things they could do would be have Ainz’ old friend and onetime mentor, Touch-Me, show up in the world. And seeing as T-M has always been portrayed as having a very noble and good-leaning personality, I can’t imagine he’d be very pleased to find out what Ainz has been up to. And if that eventually leads to a show-down...he’s indisputably a match for Ainz in a fight, could be an absolutely awesome battle with lots of feels if handled correctly.
This was also a good exercise for Beta's training in terms of valuing Ainz' plan for the village considering what had happened in the previous episode.
Ainz is put in another world that isn't His, and He wants to protect what He loves and ensure to continue their way of life. In the Yggdrasil game they made their NPCs like some kind of non-humans who dislike humans. So it's fitting of their role in this new World. Imagine if they made their NPCs love and tolerate humans then we wouldn't be seeing things like this. Also Ainz is Undead, No heart, No emotional feelings.
I want to see Ains break from serious stress so badly that he ends up exposing what he really is and how he has no idea what he's doing most of the time to one of his guardians like Albedo so we can see how they would react to knowing their supreme beings, including their leader Ains was just a lowly human being in disguise
It's more than likely he's 'feeding' the town to become stronger. Beta was there to make sure it doesn't collapse, and that was the test for her. He already considers the town as under his protection, but he can't let it be defenseless or completely dependant. It is now a nexus of not just human, but goblins and ogres and has proven it can defend itself against substantial threats. 'Disabling' the troll leader and sending his zombie instead just shows he has an understanding of just what he expects the town should handle, and he wasn't wrong. He's not indebting the town (yet), he's cultivating it.
I believe Ainz also mentioned in the previous episode that this would be a test for Feta to see if she could actually protect alchemist and the girl, so it wasn't just to get them in his debt.
The Light Novel is SOOOOOOO much better than the anime, because it goes into more detail and ohh boy, does the anime cut out a lot of stuff. Did you know Albedo has sisters? If you watched the anime only, then likely not. If you check out skythewood translations on blogger, you can find the entire English Light Novel collection, FOR FREE!!! So catch up on all the juicy info you’re missing while being able to entertain yourself for the next several weeks. Because the anime is only at roughly book six, and there are 13 books out currently. Have fun!
Maddinhpws his an overlord in the last scene of the opening song you’ve seen gassef challenge ains into a duel and ainz saw gassefs sword can damage him so ehem thats why ainz accepted that duel for that sword-spoiler hahahahah
I haven't see any hate comments on this episode but if there are any its probably more people complaining about wanting more ainz and more action even though the original source for the anime is basically world building and political drama with some dash of action the anime won't only focus on ainz its going to switch to many side stories showing how ainz and his presence is slowly influencing and changing the world
people are mad because they only see "romance that nobody wants" and fails to get the importance of world building and character development made in this arc
The image of the little girl bowing to Ainz was taken out of context, and was not sexual. In the scene from which the image was taken the girl was bowing to the king, as one should when received in his throne room. In fact, Ainz displays affection, and doting behavior towards the child, patting her on the head, in a grandfatherly manner, showing that he retains human personality traits. For the time he was with her, he could just be the kind salary man that he was before the game ended, without worrying about his image as a ruler. It was clear he enjoyed giving her a tour of the place, and apparently it was a long tour. I found his affection for the little girl quite touching, and no doubt unusual for a Lich King. As far as Ainz setting up the "attack" on the village that "he did not care about". Obviously lupus regina was monitoring the whole situation, making sure the village was not destroyed, and that the important people did not die. In fact, it was not an attack, as much as a "live fire exercise", where the trainees did not know it was a drill. The villagers, and goblins now have been through a battle, and know they can depend on each other. They also know they should stock some Molotov cocktails around the compound in case of troll attacks, and construct an underground bunker to exclude large attackers that can knock down cottages. By arranging this faux attack, Ainz did the village, and it's inhabitants a favor. Since their combat skills were tested, and improved by the drill, they are now less dependent on Ainz for protection. If the series follows the plot of the light novel, these skills will be tested again.
I think you are becoming like the denizens of Nazarick, looking too deeply into Ainz's plans. Enri and Enfi getting closer to each other was just a coincidence.
I fucking cried at the end of the episode. That scene was almost word-for-word copy of the LN. It made me so happy, coz that was how the scene happened in my head. Minus Nemu's positioning ofc. Seriously best damn scene of the season, unless the splat splat scene is up to snuff
The visit of the 3 villagers to nazarick had to tention to it for me. just imagine anybody daring to badmouth somebody that was personally invited by ainz, rip that character forever.
Hey what is the magical ability of the troll's sword? And for all the people saying that Nephiera is stronger than he thought it's because he cast "Reinforce armor" and still almost died. What a wimp.
Just watched it myself and it's highly likely the only reason he wants them in his debt is that he needs those red potions to be at a substantial advantage when fights break out. And Nphi is his best chance at that (creating red potions after all).
So it took me until this episode to realise something so obvious, if you switch around the letter of nemu's name you get menu, so I got a question for all light novel readers. Is she gonna die?
SPOILERS: As of now in the latest volume of the novels (volume 13, "Paladin of the Holy Kingdom, Part 2"), Ainz hasn't found any other player, but he knows or suspects there were players in the past. And he's right! These players have been arriving every 100 years to the New World. The Six Great Gods, who founded the Slane Theocracy, are believed to have been the first 600 years ago and they left behind knowledge, new magic, items and most importantly, powerful descendants (the "God-kin" like Zesshi Zetsumei, the woman who was playing with a Rubik's Cube in episode 1 of Season 2). The Eight Greed Kings conquered the world 500 years ago and, under their iron fists, many cities were created, including the one under their flying fortress, south of the Theocracy. They also killed the last of the Six Great Gods (an undead player named Surshana who was worshipped as the God of Death by Slane Theocracy and could not die of old age). They also hunted demi-humans & dragons, until they fell to infighting due their endless greed & addiction to power. The remaining dragons under the supervision of Platinum Dragon Lord or Tsa (Son of the Dragon Emperor, greatest Wild Magic user and the dragon you saw in episode 1 of Season 2) defeated the weakened players-turned-tyrants. Since then Tsa has taken residence in their old guild base to ensure none of the dangerous items there fall into the wrong hands - specially the Guild Weapon which he cannot move. Platinum Dragon Lord has been impeding evil players and battling the "corruption of the world" - whatever it is summoning these players, NPCs, items, etc. has also brought game rules & logic and partially altering the New World to conform to it. Example: before the arrival of players, the only magic was Wild or Soul Magic, which only dragons & people with dragon ancestry could use; and they did so by sacrificing the spiritual energy of themselves, the environment or other living beings. It was a very primordial, mystical, more fantasy-like magic than the one you see Ainz & his minions use. However, at some point, the Wild Magic of the New World was corrupted and diminished and now must co-exist with a twisted version of itself that resembles the magic system used by the Yggddrasil game: Tier Magic, which is what you see Ainz, Nazarick denizens, many new native sorcerers & mages, monsters and even younger dragons use. Other prominent players were two members of the Thirteen Heroes (the Leader and a friend of his) who embarked on a quest to stop the Evil Deities or Spirits - monsters who 200 years ago were rampaging thorough the world, destroying many nations and cities. They accepted the help of anyone who would join them and serve the cause, even members of other races - including some that were considered "evil". Platinum Dragon Lord saw good in the heart of the Leader and decided to become a member as well; but he did so under a guise, that of a knight (using a remotely controlled armor) - when the gig was up, many other members feel slightly betrayed, but they eventually forgave him, although they still poke some fun at his expense for this fact every now and then. Other members included the old lady who was talking with Tsa in episode 1 of Season 2, Rigrit the Necromancer, a 200+ years old adventurer who was also part of the Blue Rose & forced Evileye to be her replacement when she retired. Evileye was also a member of the Thirteen Heroes, but was known then as Landfall - a supposedly monstrous vampire lord who destroyed a nation and created her own kingdom of the dead; but unlike the sagas human bards sing, she wasn't killed by the Thirteen Heroes but became their companion & friend. The two players in the group shared some knowledge of Yggdrasil but died in mysterious circumstances before they told the whole truth (plus they probably kept to themselves some details). Because of that, the remaining Thirteen Heroes & their allies (Blue Rose) know some things & sometimes use game terminology, but have a lot of misconceptions about what Yggdrasil really is. Example: Evileye thinks "player" refers to a race of powerful people and uses the word "libel up" to describe someone getting stronger. Besides those there are few confirmed players: - The Boastful Minotaur Sage who 200 years ago became king of one the Six Great demi-human nations at the center of the continent, described many modern appliances but was unable to tell how they worked - although he inspired some mages to create inventive ways to magically do some of them - and upgraded humans in his society from "food" to "slaves". - Possibly the Goblin King who married a human princess and carried a stick that was able to defeat even dragons (a world item?) - A player who 300 years ago died when facing Deep Darkness Dragon Lord and left to the old subterranean dragon one of the most powerful world items. That said, many other players could have arrived, lived simple lives, use hidden identities or gone into the shadows to move things from there. Perhaps some of them are still alive (specially those of long-lived races or who not die of old age). Perhaps some have arrived with Ainz, but were spawned in another region of the continent or other continent. Or are simply biding their time (or idiotically wasting it in some random place somewhere doing God knows what).
+Chrpollo Time I swear Tabula is gunna show up and have a show down with Ainz for fucking up Albedo's personality. "I left for ten seconds, and you are fucking my side bitch!?"

He wants the villagers to be strong as he said after the troll fight about the weapon that it could increase an individual from the village and to test his served and to increase the village strength and experience
Just Chillin It's the most anticipated arc for this season. It's what the book readers have been hyping up. It's the arc that will take Nazarick from a reclusive tomb to world power
This assumes that time flows the same in both worlds. A year in the "game" world might not be more than a couple of seconds in the "real" world. For that matter, what it Ainz fell asleep just before the server shut down? He did say that he'd have to crash right away after the server went down so he could get up for work the next day. The whole series might not be anything more than an elaborate dream.

Ah right! I forgot. I knew she did it in a time of desperation, I was assuming that was when Nfirea was being attacked. Completely forgot the Kingdom attacked too. Was that before or after Ainz summoned the Dark Young?
3:07 but wait... volume 8 is the one going over the details in act 1 of season 3 isn’t it? But that’s not out yet, so... do you understand Japanese or did you go to a site with translations in it for Overlord? If so than link please. I AM SERIOUS!
On one hand I don't like how Ainz is turning into a psycho. But on the other hand, I like it because its different from other anime. I have always liked selfish lead characters, they feel more realistic to me, but I think he will turn into a cruel selfish person, and that just crosses a line for me. I probably wont stop watching, but I will definitely lose interest. You actually help me relate to Ainz when you explain his motivations, sometimes its not very clear what emotion his skeleton face is showing :D
Bob, Just Bob He will see most things in the profit/loss way in the future. he will however protect the citizens of his kingdom under all costs. and such people he promised to protect or he found useful.
Juuso Vuolle... I try to ignore the villainous things that happen in the background for the sake of enjoying the anime. But if Ainz starts to straight up murder innocents with no real justification? I will probably stop watching. Not because I am offended or something, but in my mind Ainz will become the antagonist, and I have a feeling that he wont be defeated, at least not until he conquers everything. And that would just frustrate me.
I found it more satisfying as most of the people he ends up meeting are people who really need a good axe to the head (enslavers, corrupt politicians, murderers, religious zealots etc but he also has no clear idea how to conquer a world how to make laws for his people he just leaves everything to his underlings. (funny part is he doesn't even read their reports because they are so complex) however the said underlings are demons so yeah thy do some pretty fuuuuucked up shit I can tell you that much : D
Okay so this may be a unpopular opinion, but ainz is not being a villain. If anything he is following very closely the Rules of Power. Remember he is a Japanese salary man ROLE-PLAYING as an omnipowerful supreme being and ruler. A lot of people want to easily say that he is a villain, when realistically these issues are not as clear cut as many would like to think.
i just came back from my nightmares from doki doki literature club and you just reminded about it when you said okie doki at 4:05.....you wanna kill me?!GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!... just monika just monika just monika..............JUST MONIKA...=}
Hey I do have a question what happened to the three elf's that was with that one dude who got his head chopped off by hamster? king cuz yeah I hope they have at least somewhat I happy ending.
It would have been better letting him stay there instead of letting him sitting there, just like within the light novel. That would have protected them from some memes. XD
Do you think Ainz is losing himself to his undead side?
Chibi Reviews not really lol

No, he hasn’t yet at least.

I thought he just wanted to deliver the magic sword to them. The delivery troll was just a bit too aggressive. You just can't reanimate good help these days.
the zombie delivery just isn't what it used to be sigh everything was better in the olden days I tell you!

I wouldn't call Ainz a business "boss," more like a the head of a Mafia
I thought the same: generous, protective and yet dangerous...
You come to me. In my Great tomb of Nazarick on the day of my Potion Makers wedding? You gotta lot of nerve showing up.
He's like Yakuza.
Mafia aren't actually 'Evil' though. Driven by profit mostly. Ainz' character alignment is actually 'Evil' so if he becomes true to his character we should see a dramatic shift in the cartoon.

Remember she is a sadist, she enjoys causing pain and heart ache. Exactly what failure is there in her job of protecting, if at the end of the day her targets are unharmed (physically) and there wasn't any chance of them dying without her interfering?
Well done
Possible, but following a reprimand by Ainz you would think she would be more on her toes. Pretty risky, most of Nazarick seems pretty bad at judging the New World standards beyond "weaker than us." Might just be her settings interfering.
Kingof Jokers I imagine she was quite careful. Just sitting next to the troll, cloaked, during the whole battle. Remember she wasn’t a second late to save them.
Also, keep in mind, letting them sweat it out might endear them to Ainz more, so it’s possible she thought the test was to see how little she could interfere without letting the targets die.
+mathig nihilcek
I completely agree.
My two issues with this season so far is
1. The CGI models at times are like berserk levels of bad.
2. These episodes feel so, so damn short it's pretty annoying.
Overall though, Im enjoying the anime adaption of the novels and its pretty damn loyal to it. Which I love.
Xavier Lucky you would think with a 3 season being green lit, that they would put more effort to the CGI
true af
The second issue isn't really an issue though, the episodes are as long as any other anime, it's just that when you enjoy something a lot, time flies by much faster.
If anything you should praise the anime for it, but ye the CGI is really bad, animation in general isn't nearly as good as other madhouse shows.
As a reader of the light novel, I can say that this adaptation, altough pretty nice, it doesn't do the source material enough justice, the LN is just too good in comparison.
This is all due to low budget though, and man overlord is such an underrated series.
Xavier Lucky if you think the episodes are too short than that means you're enjoying the anime
Black Ace
freeway
I think that's only half the case, I know what you mean but that's not entirely what I'm feeling when I realized the episode is already over.
Ainz also supports the best ship
Momonbedo is the best ship.
mean nphi and enri . i hope they don't die
@@shirou_s huh how
@UCVXyBPwlGA-lZAWEkh4oUFw don't you mean she
I bet albedo was breathing fire the moment the little girl touch ainz
I don't think so. As far as I remember, in the LN Albedo even sat with Enri and co. while Ainz showed the little sister around (haven't watched the episode yet).
But if you think about it, this is but a mere human. I don't believe Albedo would draw the conclusion that Ainz would ever in his life do something with a simple human, because of how lowly humans are.
no she dosn`t - If ainz only told her he want to test how it feels to have a child and albedo goes crazy happy and all other guardians too
This event had a double meaning.
*Loveing this Overlord season so far.*
All I can say about that Nemu scene is... Bring on the memes! Bring on the abridged series XD
MasterWalt there's gonna be so many pedo jokes about when he gives her a tour. Calling it now
Jack What I'm wondering, is what Loli Title her dont less meme will be XD Dont less the village loli? XD
I mean. Do you think Ainz had a boner?
Jack it was tbe first comment i saw after the episode
He is like
Oh im sorry about taking so long showing her around the mansion
Damned lolicons
@@saturnhawk6115 those peodophiles, we should KILL them
Also the text on the image, "Yes! I want to see!" Hmmmm, not saying anything but, heh, be careful there madhouse.
FBI
Psycho Satsujin definitely needs context lol
Its alrady been memed.
RIP FBI. They didn’t stand a chance.
*I LOVE Ainz-Sama's way of doing things, also his darker, more undead self too.*
Also I 100% with Narzerick calling Humans Lower Life-Forms, because its true.
Duriel Lord of Pain i also love Nazerek and i think the lower life forms can be of great use to Ainz
Not tha part though.
So far in the story inferior beings have been of use to ainz and he is investing more into them, like he did with the lizard men
That's true
Sergio Bocanegra Of use as scrolls.
11:40 you overthinking. Ainz don’t even have a deek...
Big bone Daddy got the big bone D. He can always summon one
AvangionQ I wonder if Lupus Regina's primary proteges are high enough levelled up to be resurrected. I honestly doubt it.
coldlizard 2 but how did she know that he would even be able to take the first hit? He was down to his last hitpoints. If she misjudge it only slightly, she would have failed her mission!
edi she did say his health was in the red
Not a complete fail, he didn't die did he
Ainz is more of a "Lawful Neutral" character.
Croz Raven I don’t think you understand how dnd morality works
Indirectly controlling a village and putting them in danger so they are in debt to you is an evil act. Evil characters don’t have to be evil all the time but Ainz is definitely leaning evil.
Roberto Garcia
I see, so teaching your kids a bit hard in sports considered "evil" now . .
Ainz looks neutral evil to me
Croz Raven even if he isn’t killing them himself he is purposely putting them in danger and is complicit in their deaths
According to Gygax evil
Croz Raven He is Lawful Neutral with karma of -500
Ainz is so proactive. He doesn't let problems come to him. He creates them just to solve them
Chibi you're overestimating Ainz a lil bit, because Ainz doesn't plan that far ahead, he kind of stumbles about.
I binge watched all of your Overlord reviews. Good job! Keep doing good work man.
He ain’t got a bone so it’s safe-ish
Travis letchford 😆So true lol
Of all the bones he has, he missed that one. Damn it ains!
that poor poor ainz
Travis letchford well, he still got two fists.... I'm out.
But nemu would be attacked by albedo if she was around
Can we assume that Ainz has fallen into a coma in the real world?
Skyrogue19 you can assume he doesn’t exist
I think the moment he was taken into the game his body died and its just his essence that exist in the game
No one knows but probably not bc he is transported to another world not trapped in a video game
probably time just go super slow on real life and as soon he somehow logs out 1 second has pass by.
yeah but that doesnt explain a lot of things like he being transported to the New World, all the NPCs are no act like real living beings and why is he the only one etc. So in short, thats not a very popular fan theory
Excellent points! I would like to mention something you likely noticed, but forgot since there was a lot to cover in such a great episode:
Ainz also wants to see if there can be growth past the limitations of levels for those he cares for.
He’s always been a villain in my opinion :/
Yes but the more he roleplays as the great all knowing Overlord... the more he slips further & further from his Human self
+Hamguy Bacon
So someone willing to do every evil act imaginable if it aids their goals, isn't a villain?
He's the villain this world needs. Like, really needs.
First time watching, clear voice, not talking in one tone, naming interesting facts that people might have missed, showing geniune love for the show,
You dont love this show if you havent subbed to chibi yet ;)
He was also testing his maid lupusregina. To make sure she would properly follow his orders and to help her become a better servant like he did with cocytus.
i was actually happy when nemu praised nazrick, i remember reading it it in the light novel, and now finally seing it for the first time made me smile throughout the whole episode
Attack On Overlord
Attack on CGI*
Attack on troll.
Attack on Carne village.
Attack on Nifrea.

His name is not Papa Bone Daddy for no reason
Also the little girl was part of the three way family he was talking about and seeing how much He became pleased with her, She deserved his respect.
I'm just glad that hentai boi confessed his feelings towards Enri!
PersonaQueenKitKat from what i hear, hentai boy actually becomes a real hentai boi later in the story with enri
@@chrisguillory1227 yes!!
The troll was actually Guu, otherwise known as the giant of the east. The Aura of despair spell has a small chance of automatically killing a target.
Dark Jackal constantly, dont forget that, ainz walking into a city with the passive on is a disaster
He does also have an instant death aura I think.
it probably only killed him because of how low level he is to ains id guess guu was like level 25 or something
sentient_potato if i remember correctly his despair aura has five stages: fear, panic, confusion, insanity, death.
ddy 73 Yes, exactly. Ainz activated 5 level Despair Aura and just killed them.
Have fun!
axavia that's on purpose to sell more books
well done chibi
you just destroyed my cute and pure impression of that whole scene 11:26
Overlord can't have a Death Note ending where Ainz loses. Ainz Ooal Gown does not know defeat.
ainz will die
How? He is already dead, its a fckn Elder Lich.
Maddinhpws Exactly.
Maddinhpws his an overlord in the last scene of the opening song you’ve seen gassef challenge ains into a duel and ainz saw gassefs sword can damage him so ehem thats why ainz accepted that duel for that sword-spoiler hahahahah
Maddinhpws his not an elder lich his an overlord
11:39 ...

...
...WHY WOULD BRING THAT UP?! haha love your videos bud,
Why were they're so many people butt hurt about this episode?
I haven't see any hate comments on this episode but if there are any its probably more people complaining about wanting more ainz and more action even though the original source for the anime is basically world building and political drama with some dash of action the anime won't only focus on ainz its going to switch to many side stories showing how ainz and his presence is slowly influencing and changing the world
This arc is comparable to the lizard arc. Forgettable and boring. Only interesting when Nazarick shows up.
Henry Savinon if it’s not Ains fighting they don’t like it.🤷🏾♂️
people are mad because they only see "romance that nobody wants" and fails to get the importance of world building and character development made in this arc
one guy said if he sees one more episode he'll drop Overlord like thats petty
Love your added commentary man! Help out alot
Ainz, better known as the Loli Hunter hahaha
Loli hunter is Peroronchino. Flat chest is justice
If the series follows the plot of the light novel, these skills will be tested again.
that attack on titan reference doe
Wait till he creates the mother of all indebtedness when he saves the Holy Kingdom from himself. 😂😂😂
holy phrace of the day: AIM AT THE CHILDREN!
I wonder what would happen if you send that image to shalteir or albedo
This is the first video I watched on your channel and all I can say is subbing 😊
I think you are becoming like the denizens of Nazarick, looking too deeply into Ainz's plans. Enri and Enfi getting closer to each other was just a coincidence.
I love how it was a scrapped death flag but they still made it a good scene by demonstrating how powerful ainz"s group is
Or maybe, Ainz wanted them to fall in love, for if Nphi (for some reason) betrays Ainz, he can hold Enri as hostage.
He is establishing a kingdom. He needs the village to feel being apart of ainz lets them more readily accept a new king being set up to protect them.
Guess who is back begging for that back street girls review.
Good man
I fucking cried at the end of the episode. That scene was almost word-for-word copy of the LN. It made me so happy, coz that was how the scene happened in my head. Minus Nemu's positioning ofc. Seriously best damn scene of the season, unless the splat splat scene is up to snuff
saw those skeletons and ogres? yeah not holding my breath
"Flutter him to get what you want" I see what you did here ; )
The visit of the 3 villagers to nazarick had to tention to it for me. just imagine anybody daring to badmouth somebody that was personally invited by ainz, rip that character forever.
Bring on the Invaders of the Tomb arc!
Finally! 5 ep for this arc? They wasted half the season on a boring romantic subplot for characters that don't play much of a role in the plot.
KhaanMan66 I would be careful with those words Carne village isn’t insignificant to the plot to the overall story of overlord as it may seem.
I like that arc but i wish the workers didn't die.
Big button Like what? Other than one more battle, the village hardly gets mentioned again until the 13 vol or so.
I feel bad for those who decide to do such thing.
Humans vs monster: I wonder if they'll live.
Ainz vs monster: I wonder how long he'll play with this one.
Didn't catch the attach on titan reference until you said I think we all know what you did there, not sure whether to be ashamed or happy
I'm right there with ya bleach00101, now that it got mentioned I'm thinking "Wow, I guess this show really sucked me in for me to miss that eh?" :)
"Good morning, Lord Ainz?
We are from the Yggdrasil Police Department"
So it took me until this episode to realise something so obvious, if you switch around the letter of nemu's name you get menu, so I got a question for all light novel readers. Is she gonna die?
Loving your channel mate~
Is Ains going to find another player at any moment?
Loner Imortal it’s nphi. That’s my guess.
Some fans were speculating that the elf king might be a player.
SPOILERS:
As of now in the latest volume of the novels (volume 13, "Paladin of the Holy Kingdom, Part 2"), Ainz hasn't found any other player, but he knows or suspects there were players in the past.
Besides those there are few confirmed players:
- The Boastful Minotaur Sage who 200 years ago became king of one the Six Great demi-human nations at the center of the continent, described many modern appliances but was unable to tell how they worked - although he inspired some mages to create inventive ways to magically do some of them - and upgraded humans in his society from "food" to "slaves".
- Possibly the Goblin King who married a human princess and carried a stick that was able to defeat even dragons (a world item?)
- A player who 300 years ago died when facing Deep Darkness Dragon Lord and left to the old subterranean dragon one of the most powerful world items.
Man 5 ep for this arc? Seems overkill. We haven't even touched upon the invaders of the tomb arc yet. Or the much anticipated SPLAT arc.
KhaanMan66 is that splat arc where ainz destroys everyone without moving a bone? Ive never read the much novel
Just Chillin It's the most anticipated arc for this season. It's what the book readers have been hyping up. It's the arc that will take Nazarick from a reclusive tomb to world power
the splat splat is only part of the empire arc.
even the tomb raiders are only one part of that arc as well.
I can’t find anywhere to watch past S2E16, can someone plz give me a link so I can catch up?
I guess ainz's human body is presumably rotting in his room by this time.
yeah i also imagine he just straight up died
If his soul moved to the new body, his old body just doesn't have any worth to him
This assumes that time flows the same in both worlds. A year in the "game" world might not be more than a couple of seconds in the "real" world. For that matter, what it Ainz fell asleep just before the server shut down? He did say that he'd have to crash right away after the server went down so he could get up for work the next day. The whole series might not be anything more than an elaborate dream.
I don't know how to describe Ainz personality, then I found your post title and it is perfect.
Dude. It’s been three seasons. “En-Fear-Ee-Uh.” Get the name finally, dude.

I'm really saddened they cut the summoning of the 2nd group of Goblins to aid Enri.
Zoh those goblins are overpowered af redcapes are lvl 40+
Ah right! I forgot. I knew she did it in a time of desperation, I was assuming that was when Nfirea was being attacked. Completely forgot the Kingdom attacked too. Was that before or after Ainz summoned the Dark Young?
Zoh I think it was happening while Ainz was watching dark young rampage.
Edin743 no, be when Enrique summoned the second batch of goblin, ainz was surprise and was spying them in the camp.
Bob, Just Bob He will see most things in the profit/loss way in the future. he will however protect the citizens of his kingdom under all costs. and such people he promised to protect or he found useful.
your comment sure makes me want to know your take on volume 12&13 where ainz lets demigoose loose on the Roble Kingdom 2 words Happy Farm
Juuso Vuolle Yes but he will save people he takes liking to. even revive some.
Ainz was just giving them the Magic Sword... He just don't wanna be like HERE BOY, HAVE THIS....
What happened to nphi's grandma?
Who I am she’s probably looking after the village
she's with the rest of the villagers
You have valid opinions id like to know what you think about s2 ep1 in the begging with the dragon and loli with the 13 heros or whatever
SASUGA AINS-SAMA!
6:19 There's also an implication that he wanted to test Lupisregina's dedication to the task.
Is that boa hancock in the back right, ........ naked????
Okay so this may be a unpopular opinion, but ainz is not being a villain. If anything he is following very closely the Rules of Power. Remember he is a Japanese salary man ROLE-PLAYING as an omnipowerful supreme being and ruler. A lot of people want to easily say that he is a villain, when realistically these issues are not as clear cut as many would like to think.
Ainz is a lolicon!!!
Question solve
i just came back from my nightmares from doki doki literature club and you just reminded about it when you said okie doki at 4:05.....you wanna kill me?!GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!...

His name is pronounce N-Fi-Re-A. i think.
ok A+, sit down
Not trying to be an elitist. Just trying to help out, that's all. And NO!!
but I just gave you a good grade, because truly many have problems to spell his name, that has nothing to do with elitism
Hey I do have a question what happened to the three elf's that was with that one dude who got his head chopped off by hamster? king cuz yeah I hope they have at least somewhat I happy ending.
Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm going to like Ainz if he is going to become more cruel and manipulative.
Splat splat splat splat splat splat splat
That's why I watch Overlord. I'm tired of the same old repetitive heroes story. Complex villains are more interesting than heroes.
@@bernieburton6520 true and I agree with the first reply can't wait SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT
"Omega Lite" Wait for the Splatfest lol
Yeah youre probs not going to like what the future holds for new worlders. This episode is just the entrée
Snot, im a new sub to your channel. Loving the reviews
I’m here!
Yo
I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed what it appears to be with Nemu at Ainz’s throne.
It would have been better letting him stay there instead of letting him sitting there, just like within the light novel. That would have protected them from some memes. XD
Thank you for destroying the buitifull scene for Ains and Namu, i did not even notice that😂😂😂
Yo!
Yo
YO HOHOHOHO YO HOHO HO! *sings the skeleton*
