This Raid is where the good writing went on this expansion. I have a theory that we got what we got as MSQ and not this only because there was no (logical) way to involve the ex-Scions on this plot.
You didn't come across as over dramatic at all. The final voiced cutscene made me glad I have a mute so my friends didn't know that I was a 45 year old man crying like a baby. As far as Ultima, yeah, I think she's an alien or extradimensional and we could get Jenova in an upcoming expansion.
My guess is that Hydaelyn brought Themis to the Sea of the Source, like she did with Hades and Minfilia. Also, in the Japanese translation of the post-P9 cutscene, Athena implies she might have actually gotten ahold of Themis's actual soul, after he was used up in the Crystal Tower. Roughly translated, "I thought that the soul I got was too full of holes to be used, but with the memories I've just gotten, I may be able to fix it a bit..." Yeah... I felt so bad for the kid. I usually play my WoL with a bounce to his step, and a bit of a carefree attitude, that vanishes the moment you try to mess with his friends. That scene where Themis encounters us is one of the few times I used the "..." option. My WoL did *not* want to fight him. I can just imagine during the fight, he rolls his shoulder to parry a massive blow from Themis's spear with his gunblade, and he looks up... and in that one fleeting moment, he saw the genuine smile on Themis's face. No malice, no hatred, just joy... and he can't help but return it, even as he rolls out, and dashes out of the way of the light erupting from the spear. With that, the bounce comes back to his step, and he gets in to the fight, just like he did with Raubahn. No malice, no hatred, just two old friends having a match.
In Savage my raid members hate the first boss's voice, so I told them to change the language to Japanese. Lol Pretty sure rather than Carbuncle, he was channeling the soul of a Behemoth there.
Congratulations on finishing pandemonium. Good luck in savage, that stuff is beyond me but from what I’ve seen it looks like a terror. No need to be self conscious about your reactions, we are here because we want to know what you think. I thought your gushing over Elidibus/Themis was really cute and heartwarming!
I forgot I has P11 unlocked and queued in through roulette 30 minutes before I had to leave for work.
