I do coding for a living and I recently bought a house. Although I don't know much about all this I'm learning and doing small things over the weekends. It's fun.
It comes with the Cortex fastener kits. It's basically just a T25 driver but with a felt ring that acts like a non-marring stop so you don't overdrive the fasteners.
How do you do this when your roof shingles are already installed? My house is in need of a roof,at a later date, but I’m already changing the front porch ceiling, trim, and soffits!
Excellent video this is the closest one I can find to what I need for instance if my roof has a 6/12 pitch what angle would I cut my 1 by 2 trim and also the one by 6 trim that goes down under the one by two and also the outside corners for the two trims meat or cut on a 45 instead of it being a butt cut would this be would this be considered a compound cut thanks for the video and great job man I can understand why you don't have more comments and views
Yeah, PVC doesn't rot. So water wont damage it. It does expand and contract more than wood though. I stick with wood whereever possible, just because of the microplastics issue. All that PVC dust that won't breakdown for 500 million years or whatever cant be good.
I got a door the will run into the gable trim im trying to find a way to trim out the door options. I invested in Kleer pvs molding before 2021. But still play with ideas
I noticed you left maybe an inch or 1in. 1/2 from the top when fastening the PVC trim. Can you explain why? just trying to learn as much as I can about carpentry. I'm currently enclosing my patio which was just concrete with no framing.
The cortex screws will drive this deep without predrilling. Make sure you map out your screws though before driving them in. Cortex screws can be a pain in the ass to get out.
wish i got paid enough to do all that, but nobody i work for who would use azek on their house would ever be willing to pay me to do that amount of work
I'm a Pro carpentry at New Eng regiao, this is a out stand way to do soffits and fascias. Great job!

Where do you purchase the 48x96 sheets of the PVC board?
I was watching your video, where do you get that special driver for the screws?
Didn't see an answer and you've probably figured it out but I've seen screw kits on Amazon

First time builder here building a shed how far past the fascia board do you go with the plywood
thanks for the detail. was looking to see how a pro does it.
the drip edge would hang down from the roof, overlapping the fascia by a small amount?
What is that black tip around the bit he was using to drive in the nails at the beginning of the video?

26.5 degrees.
If your mitering the corners set your bevel to 45 degrees and swing the angle over to 26.5
You 1x2 should not wrap around the front on your fascias . It will cause problems for your gutter and wouldn't be seen anyway.
Sorry I thought it said 1 day ago not 1 year ago.
What are the fasteners and plugs you are using?
they are called cortex screws, lowes sells them
Nice job god bless
here in MN it's been difficult to deal with how much PVS expands and contracts compared to timber .... just don't know what to do sometimes.
interesting I thought pvc would be very stable.
Is there a reason why the PVC is better or is it better at fighting mold/mildew? Does it last longer etc. bet it last longer.

What about the seams where they meet, do they get caulked ?
I think they're glued. There's a special glue you can purchase

So when he puts the drip on the roof it doesn’t interfere with the roof’s slope for water shedding
What size are the screws
how is the roof suppose to vent if your soffits have no air holes?
My roof is spray foam. No venting. But you can put a vent in that azek with a black screen
Not all roofs vent..
FANtastic!!!
Very nice
Screws go that deep with driver? Or you pre drill?

Thank you
Why are you leaving a 3/4" gap between fascia and plywood roof? That's not good
do you not have plastic headed stainless nails?
This is excellent but pointless if no one can source the sheet goods…
Every lumber yard, Home Depot, or Lowe’s I have ever seen near me has it.
Crap on our Phone
