after watching this i ordered the same press. i have a jar of remnants from other jars, less than a bowl leftovers from jars that i mix together and i think turning it into plug and maturing could only do it good lol
I've had a lot of fun making stuff at home with that same press! I put the tobacco in a zipperless sandwich bag first, then coat both end caps (one is a trimmed mason jar lid over the holes) in parchment paper. Then I just peel off the sandwich bag in one piece and it holds most of the goo as well. I do as little as 2 days in the press sometimes (tighten every few hours a bit) just to marry the flavors, and it expands about twice the size in a few days but crumbles easily for smoking. I also use two of the different press caps, one for aromatics and one for the others to avoid spreading the gooey smell (My press came with like 5 different noodle caps)
Nice. Great idea with the mason jar lid. I have been using foil. What blends have you been coming up with? I have a video where I pressed Northwoods from Boswell’s and I swear I was better out of the press. Thanks for the view and comment……..
@@atnoahshouse Yes, I was able to just cut the mason jar lid to size with (old) scissors easily and a piece of doubled over duct tape to hold in place. The press seems to make everything better! Otherwise I like to press things with dark fired Kentucky as it's my favorite but a bit strong on it's own. Great video❤ To keep those sugars in, or as you call it "goo", I think I would use a little less pressure and let it set for about a month. I had more than 4 oz. of medium Burley and a medium Vaginia that I didn't know what to do with so I thought that if I made it into a mild Aromatic I'd like it. What I added to this Burley and Vaginia was a little of Captain black and even less Old Toby both left overs. I was careful to use just a little Captain Black and a third of that the Old Toby and I like it now.
