I use a Canon 5D Mark 2 on a tripod with an intervalometer. I have some cheap studio lights to light the image and grow the flowers. Plant the seeds, set the frame interval, and keep the flowers healthy. I'm making another sunflower time lapse right now. I'm using a red sunflower this time, and it has already bloomed eight times so far. I'll upload the video once the plant dies.
@@withroaj nice! What's the time lapse interval? And how long did the whole thing take? Also, how were you able to change focus points from one angle? Did you just manually change it in the middle of the time lapse? Can't wait to see the next one. Subscribed.
@@RoyGregorio for this one I set it for 2 minutes 45 seconds (arbitrarily chosen based on camera timeout settings). I wound up with 100+ GB of images, and the video would have been a half hour long. This caused me to speed up the video by 4x to 8x. This year I used a five minute interval for the seedling and 15 minutes for the vegetative growth and flowering passes.
It took about 90 days, shooting one frame every 2 minutes 45 seconds (arbitrarily chosen based on camera timeout settings). I head the camera set up on both a tripod and an arm mount.
I loved the minions! I guess it's a tree for them
YES
Jason Cunningham oh wow I completely forgot about this video

There like a tree and then oh its just a sunflower

Just discovered this video. This was amazing! I'd love to see some behind the scenes how you shoot something like this!

Zoom is horrible.
I agree. It was my first long time lapse, and I had no idea what I was doing.
