Objectively speaking, it was society at its peak.
when the first pokemon games came out it was such a magical time. Sadly only very few kids i knew back then even owned gameboys let alone have pokemon cartridges. I envy kids who had the game and knew lots of kids who also had it. our tournaments were kinda boring because there were always a small ammount of players.
On second grade, we had once in a semester a special day when we didn’t have classes, everyone could bring their fav toy and eat candies. This year sooo many people played gold/silver and brought game boys to this event, one of the best memories I have from childhood. This was Finland
Even the commercial for Hey You Pikachu! Was like… yeah sometimes microphone doesn’t work

Bruh I remember when I would go to my local game stop and get the event Pokémon for Pokémon diamond and pearl and heart gold soul silver man this brings me back to my childhood
I remember there being a HeartGold/SoulSilver commercial with Dylan and Cole Sprouse.

The only commercial that's missing, and I did see it on TV back around my birthday (December 13th, 2003) there was a Pokemon Channel USA commercial that aired between December 13th and December 30th, 2003, that is most likely lost, either due to people not uploading the commercial, or probably may not have it in their archives. Who freakin' knows where that commercial may be.

What we learned:Sometimes US commercials are cringe lol
I found it ironic that the US commercial for Colosseum was styled after a peace rally considering we went to war with Iraq earlier that year...Another weird thing I noticed was that for the US FireRed/LeafGreen advert, they had the kids chanting the Team Rocket introduction from the TV series. This in itself isn't too odd, but neither Team Rocket nor anything pertaining to Team Rocket appears in the ad. At the same time, the kids were saying the Team Rocket lines with similar cadence to the Pledge of Allegiance; was Pokemon implying that US children were dedicated to evil and dastardly deeds like the pitiful Team Rocket...Or were their designs more sinister? Next time on Strange Coincidences!
