Nice to see the waggler getting some acknowledgment as a great alternative to the pole. Being old school, the waggler is my first choice when conditions allow. I’ve seen many variations over the years in waggler design. But for me an inverted crow quill is still the best by far. The sensitivity is second to none. And because the buoyancy of the float is tapered down to the tip, it presents the bait far better on the drop than a straight waggler. I make my own quill wagglers as they’re not available commercially. Great video by the way, Tom!
What a lovely days fishing ..! Gotta love that waggler fishing just something about it, is it nostalgia, is it the buzz i dont know but it is so enjoyable when you are catching.
Great video Tom, the stuff on your fingers reminds me of using bronze maggots, back in the day! A waggler is a forgotten art, I always used the waggler and stick float ,long before poles existed, Enjoyed the video,!
Great to see that you also quoted the B.S. along with the line diameter Tom, for the benefit of us old folk Other fishing channels should also be doing this. Even though it sometimes, can only be approximate, depending on the line brand, nevertheless, very close to !!
Amazing tips! Glad that i ve discovered a few of your older magazine videos. How can i get a hold of you for advices? I need to buy some equipement... Thanks in advance!
I love fishing the waggler, it’s a great method. Just one comment on the video, you say you keep things as simple as possible yet use a leader above the float. That seems like an unnecessary complication to me?

It helps stop tangles and the bait falls slower through the water Tim. 😊🎣
Cheers, always worth considering alternative approaches
Cracking film. What rod are you using for waggler.
Tom
What thickness do you use on the solder wire
so how long do your hands stay red for then🤔
Those seatbox legs are a bit too close to the edge of the platform for me 😱
