    I want to mask parts OUT, not just change color etc. Do I really need to get into the convoluted fusion stuff for that? As in - I have one clip on top of another and I want to mask out part of the top clip in the color page.

    How to keyframe mask size to follow a eye blink?

    How do I upload a photo to fit inside my mask? That I shaped out with the pen tool. I’m trying to replace a book cover with a photo

    • @alex_lionspaw
      @alex_lionspaw  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to create alpha output and connect blue Square of a power window to the alpha output. Then on edit page you put a new photo under video layer and it's done :) 🙏🏼🇨🇿

    Is there any what to invert something you have masked?

    • @alex_lionspaw
      @alex_lionspaw  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Just make sure you selected "clip" mode in tracker tab, then select window tab and invert the mask :)

    How do I edit my color page layout, my video screen is very small. Also how do I move around in the scene with the pen tool active?

    • @alex_lionspaw
      @alex_lionspaw  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know about the layout, but you can move the scene with holding your middle mouse button :)

    This helped me a lot and I was able to do exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately DR seems to be ignoring it when I render out the final video. In playback it's perfect. I've tried rendering in place, (ignores it), telling it not to use proxy media. No good. I'm left video capturing the playback because I need to just get this done. Ideas?

    • @alex_lionspaw
      @alex_lionspaw  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes a restart helps. Sounds weird, but no software is perfect. Especially if you change resolution in the end. And maybe try to change playback -> proxies -> full resolution (or something like that). Sometimes it behaves weirdly...🙏🏼🇨🇿

    • @alex_lionspaw
      @alex_lionspaw  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would recommend right click on the space where "play" and "loop" buttons are and deselect "high quality" and "motion blur". Plus you can use proxy mode in playback menu, but I highly recommend not going more than 2x as there are weird artifacts if you go 4x

    Great tutorial mate! Would you or someone in your audience happen to know how one pans on a zoomed in image in the color panel? I'm doing my best to make use of the pen tool to create a power window and for the life of me I cant zoom in and pan to the part of my image where I'd like to draw my mask. I know the command's typically performed by holding down the mouse scroll wheel while moving the cursor but I'm a magic mouse user. Also, I've heard some people suggest holding down command or command + shift while moving the mouse but I've had no luck with this. Thanks much in advance for your help brother.

      Thank you so much ! I know for sure that you can move the image around in color page, but I've never had a need for that.

    This is one of the things I hate about resolve. This clip and frame method for softness. It is just plain dumb. Why Can't I just select all keyframes that I wan to apply the softness to? Simple an logical. I have to got the the tracker tab? How is that logical. I lost an entire day for that bullshit. Plus I still can't track beause I cannot set the anchorpoint to the mask itself. I have VFX.

    • @alex_lionspaw
      @alex_lionspaw  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. A bit complicated and took me a while to actually understand how it works. Though you can set individual softness for keyframe if u go with frame mode instead of Clip. The rest is a mistery 😆
