This is a great idea. Some tips in case anyone is building this. 1) The biggest thing is that to avoid despawning, you need to put this on the left side of the coliseum as you enter and face the first lynel. I stuck a brightbloom seed under the first successful one so I know where to put it next time, and so that I can run to it quickly if I'm being chased by a lynel. 2) You can get fancy with the weapons layout to try to increase DPS. You can search for "tightening" (basically rotate the beam emitters and place them in an arc around the construct head eye so their horns are closer to the eye); pulse emitters; and how to place the cannon so the beam emitters don't blow up the cannonball. I left out the cannons and just break the armor with lynel hoof tipped arrows to avoid blowing the loot all over the coliseum. 3) If you want, you can build this somewhere you can find the long stone or metal plates and use those instead of the hover stone and sled, then use autobuild in the coliseum. That will get you a much longer platform and roof, which makes it easer to ascend and to get under cover. 4) I find that some of the loot despawns by the time the fifth lynel dies, so I turn off the machine, jump down and grab the crystallized charges and guts and whatnot after each death. This gives me a chance to recharge my batteries and aggro the next lynel, and leads to some interesting chases.
remembering Lynels from BotW, i had played so little for the past couple years i was legit scared to face them in TotK... then i finally did and remembered how fun it was. i used to farm gold lynels back then and it's like a dance.. there's this cool rhythm to it.

I really like the use of the stake, and would be perfect if you swapped the hover stone for another fireproof floor like a sled or cart that you can also ascend through. That way you aren't using extra battery from a hover stone that isnt needed because you are anchored to the wall. Seems this build would need 2 variations: 1 like i described above specifically for this arena, and one just as you've built it here but swap the stake for a rocket to use in the wild where there are no walls
I love the idea! As you can see, I'm having difficulties to ascend to hover stone. In this build, I simply replaced the rocket with stakes in my existing drone design. th-cam.com/users/shortsAGt7N7-W-eM?feature=share
Or you could fuse a hover stone to an arrow and shoot straight up. This activates and places it at peak distance to still ascend to (with no stake to interfere with ascending, I think). And then after ascending through the hover stone, use autobuild to make your machine built around this hoverstone. And you can use giant charges to recharge the whole bar since you're not using a stake
Thanks to your method I was finally able to beat the floating coliseum and get the Majora's mask. I modified your design though using sleds rather than Hover Stones so as to not go through the Energy Cells so fast.Thank you for the inspiration.
I thought I had to wait for a red moon because I started this coliseum but didn't finish it, so would get aggro every time I stepped inside the ring. Luckily though you can do this set-up just outside the entrance and draw them out. If you set it up close to the entrance they won't despawn either. Worked like a charm.
This is glorious. I wish I had even an ounce of this type of ingenious thinking ability. Instead, I watch these videos and clap joyously at these people's brilliance. Well done.
Last time I tried something like this, my set up was either too far away for the construct heads to lock on, or close enough that the lynel broke it with a roar effect. Is it really just a matter of finding that range "sweet spot" where it's too far to roar at, but close enough to actually attack the lynel?
I built one of these yesterday using a metal cage I swiped from the enemy camp in Hyrule Field near Lookout Landing instead of a floating stone and sled. That makes it really easy to ascend up to and gives full protection from all sides, especially since I placed the open end of the cage against the wall, guaranteeing my safety from all directions while the lasers and cannons obliterate the Lynels.
I basically did the same thing, but I only used one bank of beam emitters, and 2 cannons. I was having a problem with that angle of the sled, (every time I used Ascend, it would put me above the sled.) but I designed a new one with a vertical, and horizontal sled, and it's a lot easier now. I hated not having any silver Lynel horns to use.
Still works. I saw the debate about using hover stones vs carts since you are using a stake. Hover stones provide a greater area to ascend up to. It might be better to replace it with a square metal or stone plate. You also don’t need that many beam emitters. I found having a bank of 2 cannons and 4 emitters on each side worked well. Brings down the Zonite cost to 51 zonite which is pretty cheap to clear out the Lynels easily. The only other thing is to make sure you have an easy ascendable area. The area marked in the video is the best vantage point. You might want to help mark the ascend area with a small bloom seed. I’d also recommend having some sundelion meals cooks to restore hearts cooked, maybe some fairies and ditch any crap shields/bows beforehand. That way you can jump down and loot quickly. Loot can despawn so it’s best to jump down as each Lynel dies to loot quickly and run back to bait the next Lynel closer.
@@mlkdrs Update: I tested it out just now! Had to jump down a few times to lure them out of the little nooks, but I had my Sages out and they also helped to draw aggro so the lynels didn't just run away and hide in those corners lol. Thanks so much for this build! Made it so much less stressful.

It's a hovering stone attached to a construct head and weaponry. But the hover stone will drop if deactivated, so the trick is using a stake to place it high enough to prevent it to drop and being destroyed by Lynel.
You don’t need to do any of that, falling Colosseum is easily beat, and just by jumping off the stairs over and over, popping them in the face and then mounting.
1) Take two sleds and place one at a backward angle to make the shelter. Basically you stand on the floor sled and the angled "roof" protects you from falling arrows. 2) Take out a stake, a construct head, a cannon and up to six beam emitters. Put the stake in the ground and stick the construct head to it to hold it level and in place, with the eye facing you. Now stick the cannon directly to the eye and all the beam emitters on the top, with all the horns and the cannon pointing towards you (i.e., the same direction as the eye.) Grab the stake and wiggle it until the construct head comes free. Anyone copying thia simply loses on that engagement.. and combat is the only reactive thing this game has to offer (specially Lynels). Also, thats a LOT of battery you are using! And no player stumbling upon this Arena will ever do this first time.

These lynels are cheaters! Their arrows go through stone walls. Since I felt helpless (I am not fun hunting lynels), I tried your method. I had great fun. 😅 Also saved this build for later. Thanks!
Sorry guys,I think much easier and more rewarding mastering flurryrush for instance.Takes less time, less noise, less acrobatic things...
This entire comment section are masterminds wirh zonai devices. I just prefer beating it up normally makes it feel good
While I can appreciate someone taking their time to learn what exactly works here.. it means you had to invest time and many creations into solving this problem! You probably had fun.
Anyone copying thia simply loses on that engagement.. and combat is the only reactive thing this game has to offer (specially Lynels).
Also, thats a LOT of battery you are using! And no player stumbling upon this Arena will ever do this first time.
omg lol XD
If youre that far in the game you have so much battery just fight them
I've been there, as you can see, the majora mask chest already gone.
You can one hit kill lynels by fusing an ancient blade w/ an arrow.
its not killing, but make it disappear without leaving any trace or loot.
The cannon was not useful it wastes so much more energy and dose less damage in the long run
Yeah, I realized it after hours of playing
Pretty sure the cannons break the armor on the last Lynel.
Maybe just one is enough. But personally, I like the explosions so it is an expense that's worth it.
The Hover Stone could maybe be swapped out though.
Couldn't agree more
