  • #barbiediy #dollrepair #dollresearch #nostalgia #childhoodtoys In this video we do a Totally Hair Ultra Hair Whitney Hairstyle Wave Restoration experiment. The idea for this video comes from the fact that Busy B. has a new Totally Hair Whitney without box. Almost all of her crimp waves are gone. The question is can we get them back? Does the idea work? How does it work? Today Busy B. is going to test for you the rumors that state it is very easy to get the crimped hair back. That's our topic for today. Please don't forget to subscribe to my channel. Every Friday comes a new exciting video for you. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to my Barbie Channel. I'm a real Barbie girl and as a long time collector I'd like to show you different aspects like how to do repairs for Barbies produced from 1959 until the 1990s and how to become a good Barbie doc yourself. So you can use my experience to do the repairs yourself and save money by the fact that you don't need another person to repair them for you.
If you have any suggestions what to tape or a specific topic just let me know. I'm open for new ideas.

The hot water straightened it I believe. Warm water may have brought back the waves but hot just makes it straight. You can remake your own waves with straws and boil wash that and the hot water will set new waves I can find a tutorial if I'm not explaining well. Hope I helped :) Toodles,,^..^,Melissa

Totally Hair dolls have kanekalon hair, so the boil-wash method won't restore the crimping pattern of the original doll. I have a crimping iron that I use on dolls of this type, but only on kanekalon hair. Saran hair would melt if I tried to crimp it. Usually for a doll that I am re-crimping, I will flatiron the hair first, to get it nice and stick-straight. Then I will go in with the crimping iron and do a section at a time. It's tricky to get the crimping pattern to be even and consistent throughout, but it can be done. I've restored my Dance Club Kayla's hair this way. I've never done it to a Totally Hair doll, I don't think. The ones I have were right out of the box, so the hair wasn't an issue. My crimping iron is from the 80s, I don't even know where you would find one that is appropriate to use on this hair type nowadays. I would look for one with variable heat settings, and start with the lowest heat setting.
