@@s-c.. aw Thankyou. Maybe one day. For the moment we like still having a space that’s just ours and private though I know we’ve had you guys in the office and kitchen with us a few times 😁
Awwwe, Betty. I like seeing the other chickens and Rooster., their coop is awesome. the Rooster definitely made sure he was heard! This is such an awesome video. You guys are hilarious and it's really fun to watch you two just hanging and building things together with the banter. The tips on using the drill is brilliant and how to avoid scratches is so good. You both explain it so simply but it makes total sense. Wow! It looks amazing with all the sheets done. I love the colours of the windows with the colour of the sheets, it works so well. How nice was the first time you drove home down the driveway after it was all done? Love ya work guys 😀
That looks fantastic; kind of imposing but also blending with the land around you. I'm quite new to your channel - watching most of your videos, just don't get much of a chance to comment. Loving that you bring your 'Australian' to this space - off-grid; homestead; farm; etc. It's refreshing and beautiful. Love the handyman tips too.
@@ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead You're welcome! I've even got my hubby watching your videos, he enjoys the building vids and how yous are going with getting water to your homestead. I've been gardening for most my life many years since I was a child. Both Chuck and I are 46 years old from N.Z originally. I moved to Sydney with my mum and siblings in 1986. I've always considered Australia as my second home I love this blessed country. All the best to you both, I am looking forward to seeing more of your homesteading journey. Bless 🤠👍🏼
Hey thank you!! we're quit chuffed. We were going to the remaining walls in a lighter colour as a bit of contrast but the dark colorbond just looks so good with the windows!
Great teamwork guys looks awesome ..... totally get the aged cheese reference to the tin sheets lol we have a second big ugly shed aging in the paddock (12 months now) should be just about cured 🤣🤣 Love your channel ❤
Guys, the house looks really schmick. I too love the wooden window frames against the black/dark sheeting. But I have questions: (1) are you in a bush fire declared zone such that you have a BAL rating and, if so, was there any issue with the sub-floor space? (2) did I hear correctly that even if you have planning for compost or evaporative toilet you still need full septic for grey water?
Yes BAL rating and our plans were all passed with that no problem 👍 no mention was made Re sub floor space. Composting toilet, when we were in the initial design phase in 2019 we looked into it then. Environmental dept of local shire said the toilet was fine but we would still need a full septic system for our grey water. And we could only afford one or the other so septic it was. I think we could’ve fought it but at that stage we were keen to get things approved with minimal friction. So sadly that didn’t happen. Would we do it differently if we had a go over… maybe 🤔 but this is where we’re at now and we’re happy with it 🤷♀️
Great, thanks for that info. Yes, you should of course be happy with where you've ended up. You have a house! We still do not. Seeing what others do and how it's being done is super helpful, so thanks.
This looks fantastic, I have a small workers' cottage near Kandos and I am looking to do the same to the back rooms. Can I ask what colorbond sheeting you used and colour ?
Why do you have gas bottles for? that defeats the purpose of off-grid living! put up solar panels and get a solar heat=pump HWS and induction stove, no gas needed.
Dying for a tour of the inside, guys! Just got a quick peek here, & a few glimpses in some other videos. What I’ve seen so far looks gorgeous!

The black colour bond and timber windows/door look fantastic together.
Looks pretty cool huh? Our last house was all white classic farmhouse so we like the different look!
R.I.P. Boss Lady 😢 It's amazing how attached you get to each and everyone of them...

Awww. Sorry to hear about Boss Lady guys 😞
Love how the house has come up with the 'well acclimatised' sheets 😁 Quite a transformation.
Since you bought the block the two of you have done sooo much work. Its incredible to see what just two people can achieve.

Just the standard corrugated profile because it’s the cheapest and most readily available. In Monument colour 👍
