    China which has had its ups and downs for the last four thousand years, has been a peace loving nation.
    When Admiral Zhen He (1371-1433) of Ming Dynasty led his big navy entourage visited Malacca more than 600 years ago, China was the strongest naval power in the world and could have easily conquered and occupied Malacca.
    But seven times spanning over 20+ years he visited Malacca and never did he show any aggressive intentions.
    Instead, Europeans like Portugal, Spain, Holland and England took turns to occupy Malacca.
    Now these Westerners have brazenly turned around and accused China of being a threat to world peace.
    What a mockery!

    Cultural exchange is a great pathway towards mutual respect and understanding. For example, the Chinese has their style of drumming, so does the Malay, Indians, Eurasian etc. Combining them to highlight each's characteristics and brilliance makes each one proud of their own and embrace the uniqueness of others instead of whether which is better.

If you are a Malaysian, you are subsidising them in housing, since they get 30% discount which developers will spread to other buyers. If you have a brilliant kid, he/she will only be given the choice of university courses that are not popular, and scholarships are given to all bumis, even if their parents are rich, and hardly any for poor mon-bumis. All lucrative businesses are in their hands now, only some older non-bumi generations are holding on to their wealth. There is no future for non-bumis in Malaysia. Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger wanted to use China as a pawn against USSR in early 1970's.

    • @wooyyeah
      @wooyyeah 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kissinger worked to benefit American corporations via capitalism and open markets. So, he's liked by some in the US for the successful mission of opening up the nation with the largest population (China) to an open market system. He's liked in China because that opening up hugely benefitted the Chinese economy. All the jobs moved to China whilst a huge chunk of Americans lost theirs (hence some in the US dislike him).
      Regarding other countries which the US failed to open up or gain market benefits, Kissinger is well-known to have brought about coups and placing puppet governments. For that, Kissinger belongs in hell with all the greedy corporations that lobbied him to wage wars and kill millions in third world countries throughout the decades. If you live in a poor country rich in resources, Watch Out! China will trade you for it, the US will bomb you for it. Choose one. I'd pick trade anyday, even if sometimes the deals are a bit unfair. At least it's still a bit of profit.

      I think the Philippines takes in too much US propaganda. Malaysia also has dispute with China; that does not have to overshadow the potential for other things, which in time may help to resolve the dispute or make it obsolete. I encourage our neighbours in the Philippines to approach such problems from our Asian mindset, which is able to consider more oblique conflict resolution approaches, and not from the black/white, us/them, binary and combative Westernised worldview. In fact, it was my Filipino friends who showed me this more layered and seemingly contradictory approach to disputed things, and its incredible value.
