Howdy, Andrew! Thank you very much for the support, brother! I definitely try my best to be open and active with our community whenever I get a chance. In fact, I make it a point to read each and every comment and try to respond to most of them. Thank you again for the kind words and have a great weekend!
Jim, Bob and me are friends, we are standing in line, waiting for our officer to give us the order to fire. Jim just received a third nose hole. A good friend, gone, without even firing a shot. As we are given command to fire, Bob suddenly starts making strange noises, blood spraying everywhere as he is holding his throat. Bob, walks in panic towards the enemy line, blocking my shot. Meanwhile Bob gets hit by another salvo fired by the enemy. Finally, we are able to fire but too late, we are ordered to retreat. As I stand erect, weapon leaned on my shoulder, I must turn my back to the enemy and wait for the retreat marching orders. There is Matt, he seemed like a nice guy back in Camp, maybe he will be my new friend? As I look to my left, I see the officer raise his sword and order us to march! Finally, as I look back to the right, Matt is gone. What remains of him is his blue coat with a red stain, as he lays peacefully belly down on the grass. I suddenly realize, half of our men are gone. Back in camp I see men cheering. Apparently we have won the battle because as we died, our cavalry hit the enemy from the left flank and made short work of them. We are just the decoy.
Join us on Friday's, Saturday's, Sunday's, and Monday's between the hours of 4EST and 8EST for some amazing line battles, God! Looking forward to fighting with you on the battlefield. Thanks for commenting!
yeah, the game in whole right now has to be very organized, outside of standard event times its uncommon to find anywhere near or over like, 50 people, make sure you get into a regiment though, primary orders (should) come through teamspeak then they are relayed in game by NCOs and corporals ~ II-(1stGa B) Cpl. !(Nebi)! @Yagyo AKA Jesse Binkman :D
The sound of the Minié balls flying though the air sounds great. It must have been terrifying for those poor fellas back in the civil war. Lining up in front of the enemy and exchanging a volley must have taken some guts! As Shelby Foote wrote, the tactics of the day had not caught up with the technology. Both sides used manuals for training and tactics which were written before the war by individuals like William Hardee (Rifle and Light Infantry Tactics: for the Instruction, Exercise and Maneuver of Riflemen and Light Infantry) and Winfield Scott's 'Rules for Manoeuvres of the United States Infantry' which was written way back in 1835 (thirty years before the war started!).
Thank you very much for the comment, Vinnie! Yes, the in-game sound is incredible and very realistic to the timeperiod. Check out some of my other War of Rights videos for more amazing footage!
I was dreaming of realistic games like this for a long time. Now that everybody's getting faster internet and servers are getting better, it's actually becoming a reality
I think I can speak for many of us when I say that a lot of us were dreaming of the same type of game, Simon! Thanks for your support and I am glad to see that this game meets your approval!
I’ve been really wanting more war games. Like realistic war games. I know there are some out but they are only on PC. I have a ps4 and hoping to get a PC but may be a couple years. The call of duty shit is to futuristic now. And even battlefield games are okay but there are still some stuff about it that aren’t realistic. I feel like a lot of people think civil war games would be boring cause of the lining up and shit but I think this stuff kinda teaches you what it was like. I hope this comes out on console. Also is there friendly fire? And really good video sir you got a new sub!
Howdy, Legit! Thank you very much for taking the time to write to me. I would agree with you that you need to get a PC in the future. The PC gaming community has been very good the past couple of years with creating some of the most realistic military simulators on the market, and you are missing out by not having a PC. Truthfully, PC prices have seriously declined over the past few years, and you really could purchase an amazing introductory computer for a cheaper price than what you would have paid five years ago. To answer your question, yes, there is friendly fire which makes this game absolutely brutal sometimes. There have been quite a times where we have snuck up behind a line, fired a volley, and charged towards them, only to find out that it was a friendly line that repositioned themselves without anybody knowing. Oops! Thank you very much for subbing and I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield one day!
if this game manages to get in cannons, cavalry and the server population of napoleonic wars DLC when it was still played alot it will be so epic! will keep my eye on the development for sure! (already got capt pledge just not ready to commit to a reg right now)
I completely agree, Demian! I would love to see some other roles in the game, as it would definitely balance out the infantry combat nicely. You do NOT have to commit to a regiment to play. All of our events are public events and open to everyone whether you are in a regiment or not, so please don't feel pressured to join a regiment! ;) See you on the battlefield!
Mister Calibrated I am enjoying your vids I wish I could join the fight I got an account but No way to join the field what's your regiment on the Union side? or maybe I'll see you across the field in the Butternut grey
Thanks for the feedback and the commenting, COD! I do agree with you that every shot is needed, but I do like to pop out of the line every once and a while and give the viewer a wider perspective of the engagement as a whole or the participants that attended the event. Sorry that bugged you! Thanks for commenting!
Thank you very much for the kind words, Tovion! Feel free to get the game and hop into one of our several community line battles over the weekend. See you on the battlefield!
Hey Dude. I just came across your channel Cause I was looking for something to watch, then this video was in my recommended and I press it. I love the action here and would like to be apart of this when I get it! Continue the hard work C.C. New Subbed earned.
Howdy, brother! Thank you very much for your kind words, your comment, and the sub, my friend! I am happy to have you aboard and stay tuned for more footage! :)
Yes, the audio was much better this time Calib. By the way, there are many other YTubers that are running into the same problems with their uploads. It seems the problem may be with YT, as many are finding their content either freezes part way through, or the audio is way off such as yours was. Anyway, a well fought battle my friend.
Thanks for catching that issue earlier, Mar! I always go back and review my videos, but depending on how late it is, I usually just skim through which is why I didn't catch that audio issue that time around. Thanks for the heads up about YT, and I'll be sure to keep my eye out for any other issues in the future. Great catch!
Hey love you channel - but how do you get the following: Default Settings - Everything on "High" Total FPS: Varied - (45 - 55 FPS) as I have a gtx 1070 and 8 gb ram and same processor but get the same fps in game on medium settings and high drops to 35-45 peaking occasionally to 50. I see your game play is smooth and nice - do you use smx1 or fX AA? Would be interested to know how you get smooth gameplay ?
Howdy, brother! Thank you very much for the question! If I remember correctly, I used the lowest anti-aliasing setting and turned down my smoke to low. Smoke takes a lot of rendering and/or processing speed, so try reducing your anti-aliasing and your smoke options and let me know if that helps or not.
Thanks for commenting, Wandering! Negative, not yet, but I'll be sure to let everybody know when a release date has been announced. Thanks for commenting!
Ever tried the repeating volley tactic? Keeping the rhythm of having front line fire, reload, and as they reload, back line moves up in front and fire.
Absolutely, Izaiah! "Fire and Advance" is a great tactic to use, but it takes a lot of coordination to do with the public outside of your own regiment which is why we don't see it used often in public battles. Thanks for commenting!
They should add drummers to boost morale. Like if the drummers play certain tunes, it cause a special effect like increased accuracy or less fatigue. Just an idea. Music played an important role in how troops fought
That is definitely a neat idea, Clifton! Reminds me of the Mount and Blade Napoleonic Wars system or even Holdfasts' musician system for that matter. Fortunately, the developers did put out a "field report" detailing that they will be adding musicians in the future, so I hope that still proves true. Check out the field report below and thanks for your suggestion and comments! warofrights.com/Fieldreport36
We try to play these games as authentically as possible, Kadijaish. In this case, line battling was entirely appropriate for the time period! :)Thanks for commenting!
Howdy, Dorian! What frame rate are you getting, my friend? This game is quite CPU intensive so you might be experiencing some issues with your I3 processor!
@@CalibratedCore I'll test it a bit later and I tell you what 😎👍but directly I think it runs at 30/40 fps with all high settings on the maps with a lot of people but on the drill camp it work pretty good 😒
@@CalibratedCore well in game I get 25-68 fps....but I think it's because of the number of people....but I'm not sure...maybe because I've OC my GPU I really don't know. Do you have any idea friend?
Howdy, Dorian! Just reviewed your post and you are getting the same FPS as I am getting! :) Yes, it's based on the number of people on the map and the number of ragdolls kicking around. Your PC specs are fine, so I do believe that this game just needs to be optimized a little more in order for us to get the FPS we want.
I'm curious why so many servers are "no kneeling". A kneeling front rank had been incorporated in volley fire since the 1700's. I know it was uncommon in the American Civil War, but if the Dutch, Brits and Prussians could use it, why not the US?
As you stated, Peter, kneeling was an uncommon tactic during the war because standard infantry doctrine had the back rank fire through the first rank which negated the need for kneeling. To solve having to kneel in battle, the back rank would position themselves in between, and behind, the soldiers of the first rank which allowed the back rank to sight their muskets over the shoulders of the first rank and fire. Thanks for commenting and excellent question!
Thank you very much, brother! To immediately join us on the battlefield, head on over to the "War of Rights" Crowdfunding campaign page and select the "Captain Tier." After pledging, you'll immediately receive your Steam key and you'll redeem it on Steam. See you on the battlefield! :)
Howdy, Fraggs! Good question! In this video, it's really difficult to see the enemy in the distance. Sometimes, I can see them clear as day in the game when I play, but when the video renders, the background can become somewhat pixelated. Check out some of my other videos where you can clearly see the enemy. Thanks for commenting!
create a soldier on the company tool (on the WoR website) and you can apply for regiments there, however, i would say; for the site, wait for a recruiter to contact you personally as many regiments are still mustering and not very active, they can send you telegrams on the website its just an olden e-mail; but you can also hop in the game during events Friday thru Monday at 4PM est (european event time) and 8PM est (american event time) and merge into a unit of your liking, and as long as you follow orders im sure you can ask commanding officers on the battlefield about finding a recruiter (also, teamspeak may be required as thats where the Officers primary orders are issued, any orders you hear in-game are likely being relayed from the TS for people not in the regiment or TS channel) ~ II-(1stGa B) Cpl. !(Nebi)! @Yagyo AKA Jesse Binkman :D (^^^ psst, thats 1st Georgia of the CSA, theyre cool dudes and you should always see like 50+ of em in an event)
Thee Furaribi actually i already did all of that lolol this comment was made as soon as i bought War of Rights. Im now in the 6thAL. Was actually in an event last night with a bunch of 1stGA dudes ironically
i mightve been there than, i only played like the first 2 rounds because i crashed my bike, flew through some bushes and twisted my back like 2 days after, cant move without gasping like im shot so i was relaying orders for the first couple rounds then left to suffer alone D:
Given that the price to get into alpha is a little steep, I'd wait until we are at least in closed beta, Psycho! Of course, you are certainly welcome to join us now if you would like to do so! :) See you on the battlefield!
Howdy, Isaac! If you head on over to the "War of Rights" Crowdfunding page and pledge the "Captain Tier," you'll be able to immediately join us on the battlefield. The price for the "Captain Tier" is $69.99 at the moment. Thanks for the question and see you on the battlefield!
Howdy, brother! Head on over to the War of Rights Crowdfunding campaign and pledge the "Captain Tier" for immediate access to the game. We would love to share the battlefield with you, Caleb, so see you soon!
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the lord He is peeling down the alley in a black and yellow ford And the feds were on his tail for the road laws he had ignored, His 'stang is speeding oooooon
Howdy, Isaac! If you head on over to the "War of Rights" Crowdfunding page and pledge the "Captain Tier," you'll be able to immediately join us on the battlefield. Thanks for the question and see you on the battlefield!
I read a report a month or two ago that the distances between lines varied quite a bit. Some battles were fought face to face, while others were fought over a distance of 150-200 yards on average. I'll see if I can dredge up that article for you, Mr!
Of course, you can! I built my own, but you can certainly buy some pre-built rigs that could run this game with no issues. Personally, I buy all my pre-built systems from "Ibuypower.com."
The game isn't out yet, but if you head over to the War of Rights Crowdfunding campaign page, and pledge the "Captain Tier," you can immediately join us on the battlefield, BoB!
yes its just civil war, you will be allowed to choose being a confederate or a civil union soldier what is also cool is that the team also does want to implement character creation lol I wanna personalize my soldier so that would be kind of cool steamcommunity.com/app/424030/discussions/0/1729828401707993152/ seems to be the only actual quality civil war game which is much good to see :D hopefully they see this game through and turn it triple A quality.
Just kidding! ;) You can join us on the battlefield by pledging the "Captain tier" on the War of Rights Crowdfunding campaign. Remember, this is closed alpha, so there's going to be quite a few bugs and the occasional crash or two! :) See you on the battlefield, Maniac!
Thanks for commenting, Clement! It's essential to fill the gaps for a few reasons. Mainly, filling the gaps allows the line to stay dressed and promotes unit cohesion. Furthermore, it can be difficult to hear commands being yelled down the line, so filling the gaps allows for the players to easily echo the commands to their fellow soldiers further down.
Agreed, Daniel! You should see us execute some of the more complex formations such as wheels, refusals, fire and advance, and what not. Those formations are really hard to perform in public games, but it does happen when you have an amazingly coordinated team.
If you're good and not under fire, ha-ha. Many of the weapons picked up at Gettysburg had double loads because soldiers forgot that they had already previously reloaded and rammed another ball down the pipe. Unfortunately, they were killed soon after, but I can imagine how that would happen in the confusion of battle.
@@CalibratedCore Yeah man. that happened in a lot of battles with all the noise and smoke they would pull the trigger and if it didn't fire they didn't even realize it and would ram another round down the barrel
Howdy, Naveen! Thanks for the question! Sometimes, it can be very difficult to assess whether you have killed someone over such long distances. The only way you really know is if you physically see that you eliminated the enemy using your bayonet or by using a long distance shot. If you see the enemy fall after you shot them, chances are you probably killed that player. Although, sometimes, you'll never know given how much is going on around you.
Howdy, Mach! It would be more tactically safe to keep distance, but in order to engage the enemy, we have to close within optimal ranges of our muskets which puts us relatively close to the enemy position. In order to win this type of battle, we have to push the enemy to "break" which means we have to cause a good many casualties. Thanks for commenting!
Calibrated.Core not many people will agree too that. Unfortunately only Us Americans are focused on demonizing the south and forgetting that this war was more of an American Genocide. We lost about 2 or 3% of our total population. I know my response is long by you've earned my sub by your understanding of history. Keep up the great work bro🇺🇸
i do believe mounted cavalry WILL be added, but not soon as i think theyre working on Musicians, and so far they only introduce some new regiments in game but not new classes entirely, theyre mostly working on changing systems to fix crashing, ticket balance, spawn systems, day/night systems, animations, etc
I think a lot of players underestimate the importance of drill sometimes, but as you can see in the video, a lot of our players were well versed in drill which helped us to become a more effective unit overall.
Calibrated.Core why not press forward at the same time tho. Like have one line kneel and move forward 50 feet and then the other line catch up and go 50 feet ahead of them and so on
Howdy, Enima! Thanks for commenting. Head on over to the "War of Rights Crowdfunding page" and pledge the "Captain tier" for immediate Alpha access. Better hurry though as they are running out of keys!
Welcome to the Civil War, Daniel. The average soldier could reload 3 rounds a minute, and that was rarely under the duress of combat. Thanks for commenting!
@@CalibratedCore I got cha, gotta keep it even. I was wondering how that would work if the sides were not even. I actually don't know a thing about the game yet cept for the battles I've watched... but I will soon. lol... I wanna call myself Stonewall's Left Arm...if there's enough room for that
this entire video was just you and some teammates shooting at white smoke. I imagine it's fun to play but it's boring as hell to watch people shoot musket balls at "other players" that you cant even see
I am sorry to see that you didn't like the video, Hingle! Yes, sometimes, the battles do devolve into shooting at distant smoke. Unfortunately, none of the other Confederate regiments wanted to meet us on the battlefield, so they decided to take cover behind their fences way off in the distance.
Thanks for the feedback, Mark! Yes, the animations can be stiff at times, but they will be ironed out by the time the game releases. If you think the gameplay looks barely serviceable in this video, check out my other videos and see what you think. Thanks for commenting, brother!
welp, thats for us to tell the devs, they gotta let us move at the double quick and kneel and such without having to shoulder arms and that alone would vastly increase the flow of movement between animations, as in my experience its the transition from stationary to double that stutters most of the controls, other than that i believe many of the animations just need to be sped up for a reasonable flow of movement, as well as removing any extra input during animations, when you fix bayonet or crouch, you should only be able to press the button one more time to stop the anim, but instead as it is it seems that pressing buttons qeues the actions so an accidental double tap after starting will make you finish the anim then move to the next, so youd put on your bayonet then take it back off for no reason or youd fix bayonet then crouch and uncrouch for no reason if you pressed too many buttons too quickly, everything just needs to be sped up and tweaked around, but as i said, its alpha testers who gotta tell em how we feel and how we think it could improve. ~ II-(1stGa B) Cpl. !(Nebi)! @Yagyo AKA Jesse Binkman :D
i like supporting these more ambitious titles (im pledged to War of Rights, EmergeNYC and Identity, those are my 3 more ambitious titles to support right now), and ive been wanting more games in civil war/napoleonic era since i played the demo for darkest of days as a wee lil lad. i found holdfast and joined (89e Les Enfants Perdus) and was like YASS, its arcady but fun as hell, then i found THIS on CRYENGINE, joined (2nd-Corps 1st Georgia) and was like YES FATHER by the time i took my first bullet to the head during my first event.
Game looks fantastic, however you all aim just the ground. I guess it's developers luck of knowledge... or you just shooting fields? ;) (You all should aim much, much higher at this distance, even if you had rifled Minie carbines). Or maybe models, however so nicely done - do not show aiming, gun elevation properly? All the best.
Thank you very much for the feedback and the support, brother! You know, after reviewing the footage, we could have been shooting low the entire time which probably resulted in us being decimated from Confederate volley fire. Thanks for taking the time to write to me and take care!
You see this is what I want on Xbox One game console for free this is what I want on the game console just love history so much and I really want this on my game console you think they'll ever put it on game console for free
That is the most saddest thing I've ever heard this thing would have been great on game console oh well maybe in the future we'll probably make it in game console who knows but I tell you this game is really great

This looks awesome!
Glad you liked the footage, Bruma! Looking forward to seeing you on the battlefield!
Check out the field report below and thanks for your suggestion and comments!

why dont apply modern warfare tactics of manouvre, spred out fire from cover?
We try to play these games as authentically as possible, Kadijaish. In this case, line battling was entirely appropriate for the time period! :)Thanks for commenting!

I've an i3 8300 and a gtx 1060 6gb but it looks more bad... Any idea ? If you want I'll tell you my frame rate...
@@CalibratedCore OK man thanks 😎👍 Can I invite you on Steam ?
Is this game gonna get the spencer carbine? Would make the Union forces hella OP.
Shoot... You're not lying. In fact, the Spencer carbine is in game, just not on this map! ;)
Oh, SWEET!
i love the guy screaming at all the men! It almost seems real!
Real indeed, XYZ! All authentic commands from the Civil War, and executed with much gusto on our part. Thanks for commenting!
@@CalibratedCore But I wonder, wouldn't they get hearing problems if the muskets were fired literally right next to their ears?

Maybe it's because I'm on my phone, or maybe it's because I've gotten old, but...how do you aim when you can't even see the enemy?
Howdy, Fraggs!
Good question! In this video, it's really difficult to see the enemy in the distance. Sometimes, I can see them clear as day in the game when I play, but when the video renders, the background can become somewhat pixelated. Check out some of my other videos where you can clearly see the enemy. Thanks for commenting!
lol so amazing. who doesnt love the smoke and gore of line battles.
Sure gives you an idea how brutal the war must have been, eh? Thanks for commenting, Sioux!
after watching your vids, I have picked up this game. Wondering how often the events are and how to get in?
create a soldier on the company tool (on the WoR website) and you can apply for regiments there, however, i would say; for the site, wait for a recruiter to contact you personally as many regiments are still mustering and not very active, they can send you telegrams on the website its just an olden e-mail; but you can also hop in the game during events Friday thru Monday at 4PM est (european event time) and 8PM est (american event time) and merge into a unit of your liking, and as long as you follow orders im sure you can ask commanding officers on the battlefield about finding a recruiter (also, teamspeak may be required as thats where the Officers primary orders are issued, any orders you hear in-game are likely being relayed from the TS for people not in the regiment or TS channel)

There's always such distance in the line battle, they should get closer like in real life
I read a report a month or two ago that the distances between lines varied quite a bit. Some battles were fought face to face, while others were fought over a distance of 150-200 yards on average. I'll see if I can dredge up that article for you, Mr!

what is also cool is that the team also does want to implement character creation lol I wanna personalize my soldier so that would be kind of cool steamcommunity.com/app/424030/discussions/0/1729828401707993152/

Oh that murderous middle line position. I think the life expectancy is what 2 volleys?
If that, Red! :) Talk about a precarious position to form a line at, eh?
Why is it important to fill the gaps?
Thanks for commenting, Clement! It's essential to fill the gaps for a few reasons. Mainly, filling the gaps allows the line to stay dressed and promotes unit cohesion. Furthermore, it can be difficult to hear commands being yelled down the line, so filling the gaps allows for the players to easily echo the commands to their fellow soldiers further down.
I think you got a better audio this time
Thank you very much, brother! I have no idea what happened, but I am glad I fixed it and re-uploaded the video.
The formations are so chaotic
Agreed, Daniel! You should see us execute some of the more complex formations such as wheels, refusals, fire and advance, and what not. Those formations are really hard to perform in public games, but it does happen when you have an amazingly coordinated team.
14:35.. now theres an officer id follow into battle any day!

3 shots per minute boys, if you're good
If you're good and not under fire, ha-ha. Many of the weapons picked up at Gettysburg had double loads because soldiers forgot that they had already previously reloaded and rammed another ball down the pipe. Unfortunately, they were killed soon after, but I can imagine how that would happen in the confusion of battle.
@@CalibratedCore Yeah man. that happened in a lot of battles with all the noise and smoke they would pull the trigger and if it didn't fire they didn't even realize it and would ram another round down the barrel

i cant believe people waged war in this fashion its complete insanity!
I completely agree, Ian! Talk about balls of steel, eh?
How do you know when you've killed someone!?!??
Howdy, Naveen!
Thanks for the question! Sometimes, it can be very difficult to assess whether you have killed someone over such long distances. The only way you really know is if you physically see that you eliminated the enemy using your bayonet or by using a long distance shot. If you see the enemy fall after you shot them, chances are you probably killed that player. Although, sometimes, you'll never know given how much is going on around you.
that’s actually pretty realistic most times men had no idea whether they were the one to hit someone or not
Would love to play this but dont have a good enough PC to get good fps
Hopefully, you'll be able to join us one day, Sarge! Thanks for commenting!
Why all team stay close to each other, isnt it more tactically safe to keep distance more chances to stay alive,
Howdy, Mach!
The bloody Brother War is a Far more appropriate name
Yes, far more appropriate indeed, Dragon. Thanks for commenting!
Calibrated.Core not many people will agree too that. Unfortunately only Us Americans are focused on demonizing the south and forgetting that this war was more of an American Genocide. We lost about 2 or 3% of our total population.

this entire video was just you and some teammates shooting at white smoke.
Great models and textures but the animations are stiff. The gameplay looks barely serviceable.
