This reminds me of the Dimension Stack option in immersive portals, where it'll connect dimensions via portals; so there will be a portal between the bottom of the End and the top of the Overworld; and you can configure if the connection between two dimensions is one-way (so if you fall out of the end you cant go back up to return).
Notably, if you have the Nether and the Overworld connected via portals, the bedrock at the bottom of the overworld and at the top of the nether will be replaced with obsidian, so you can actually mine through that obsidian to reach the Nether.
It just reminds me of how Blockstory handles dimensions

hearing some stuff about this game, it's sorta like a mix of 3d terraria and minecraft, especially with how the nether(or hell for terraria) is connected as well as the existence of platinum and the dye mixer, probably to avoid copyright
There's also copper tools and the possibly of the existence if furnaces past stone ones
I knew I wasn’t the only one who made that connection.
The Dye Mixer made me realise that it might be a mix of the 2 games. The Nether/Underworld being under the surface if you dig far enough down is a common trope as it is. But as soon as they brought up the existence of Platinum and Hammers it clicked.
@@T1meDust01 The crafting menu is what made me realize it. No sticks, no shaped recipes, simply needing to click the item while having a certain amount of resources. It's a nice blend of minecraft with some terraria mechanics.

Sadly tools still break, so it only avoided one out of the two design mistakes of Minecraft (yes, the two mechanics in MC that more mods exist to help players play around than any others are honestly just bad design and should never have existed imo) unlike terraria which avoided both of them

Love how you get to different dimensions. Honestly, that's how I thought I worked in the base game when I initially started playing

This just makes me think of the mod I was working on a few years ago that I called "Samsara: the Ascent". There were 7 dimensions (including overworld) and they were to be vertical like this one. The lowest level was the "Clamoring Void"...a nightmarish place with strong enemies that could fly quickly and dealt void damage. If you took enough void damage within a short period of time, it would kill you and delete your inventory (like falling into the void in the base game...a thing you couldn't do here). Next was Infernus...a dimension that required fire immunity to travel at all as the air in the place would set you on fire and touching any of the native blocks would deal lava damage. You could mine "Superheated Core Crystal" here, which was the best material in the mod. You had to expose the blocks to water to make them workable ("Core Crystal"), but doing so would make them function like TNT...so you had to get ready. After that was the Nether, then the Overworld. Next was the Stratus...a dimension of bouncy clouds and low gravity. There were no enemies per say, but lightning could strike pretty much anywhere, and mining cloud could sometimes produce a water block to knock you back to the Overworld. Next was the End. After that was the Ascension. Here there was just one thing to find...a Cyclic Temple. In the middle of the temple was a block called a "Vana". Hitting the block with your bare hand would cause you to warp to origin spawn in the Overworld with no changes but for an empty inventory. The tier of gear you had in your hand would determine what you would respawn at spawn with. If you had Diamond (this predated Netherite), you would respawn with a full suite of "Ascended Diamond" gear, which was a lot like Netherite turned out to be, but for the fact that the gear was unbreakable and a tier high enough to mine Superheated Core Crystal. If you came back and hit the Vana with a Core Crystal tool, the Vana would disappear and be replaced by a clone of you, in full Core Crystal gear who was actively trying to kill you. If you defeated the clone, you would get a credits sequence inspired heavily by existential philosophy combined with Hinduism, Buddhism, and bits of both Zoroastrianism and Taoism...you would then respawn at origin with creative flight and a level of 50 that could never go down (enchant everything for free...basically a postgame reward).

immersive portals mod for java edition allows dimension stacking like this.
theres iirc a few mods that do similar things/the same thing, and while i do agree its interesting and kinda novel, it also seems like it would be terribly inconveniant and annoying once the novelty wears off

For a great knockoffs I know is Survivalcraft, it is almost superior like there is 3 shark species and there is more than just hunger but fever and freezing in survival mode

Of "Minecraft-likes", Minetest is the best. It's basically just a framework, and with mods you can make it basically exactly like Minecraft, or a whole bunch of other things. It also runs a lot, lot better than Minecraft does. Would be neat to see a video about that one day

I actually think that this game is based on minetest for the web (or just minetest, then ported to the browser). I can tell because it uses a lot of the same assets and the graphics are very similar.
@@kevadroz The assets on Minetest are usually open, you don't have to use them alongside Minetest, that's the beauty of Minetest.
Also Minetest doesn't support 3D in-hands as far as I recall, which is used for the tools here.
By Minecraft-likes I assume you mean stuff seeking to imitate Minecraft, like mine test (and knock offs), rather than games building on Minecraft's basic ideas (like VintageStory).
@@WasatchWind I don't even think Vintage Story categorizes as a Minecraft-Adjacent game, it's blocky but that's the only similarity, the loop is extremely different.

If you are looking for something closer to minecraft, a game called Mineclonia on the Minetest engine, does a great job at recreating Minecraft.
It has all the bioms, dimensions, even most of the structures. Game mechanics are also recreated including redstone.
And if you want ACTUAL Minecraft (not a clone, the original game), go to Eaglercraft.

The way that the dimensions are connected is really awesome, I'd totally play this if it was a mod for actual minecraft
I remember on my old bukkit server i had a plugin that connected the dimensions like this, if you jumped into the void in the overworld you'd get warped to the nether, and going above build limit would warp you to the sky dimension
(yes the sky dimension was briefly in the game, not normally accessible but server plugins could get you there)
Never though knock off could be so good high limit so high and u can go rly deep and there's the floating island biom never got and copper can actually be tools snd armor
this looks like it was forked from the source code of minetest aka the opensource voxel engine that alot of minecraft clone on mobile use

This kinda reminds me of Block Story. The way there's hammers, dye station and the world is infinite verticaly so you go down to reach hell and go up to reach forgotten sky and space. Now the just need to add quests, NPCs, dragons, aliens, magic and a ton of bosses)

So, The Nether is pre-1.16, swimming is pre-1.13, the caves are post-1.18, water blocks are pre-Infdev_20100616-1, the aether exists, the end is what we thought it would be in May 2011, and it's all one big single dimension world. That's one top quality science fair project. Someone had fun!
Eaglercraft is real Minecraft 1.8.8 (not a knockoff) in your browser, it's only 1.8.8 but that's probably then what this is, there also minigame servers, but there not very good
This is gonna be the only time PhoenixSC actually plays survival.

Remember; Mojang doesnt own the concept of a block voxel and they aren't even the first. Infini-miner beat Notch to it by several years.
Its cool how it has some elements from terraria (the nether being below the overworld, dye station, crafting without a grid, platinum, etc)
