#Skateboarding #Podcast #Interview
As a 47 year old skater i will say that Andy is the skaters skater. He channels every era of skating for me and is a true standard bearer for our positive/creative scene.
👏🏻 that's as good as it can be said... Stemming from the OG bones brigade era myself...
All the name drops and little nods... He's a book- but more than that, not just some show off who happened to study history, but a TRUE skater... One who embraces the entirety of skateboarding in every possible form and facet. He IS an old soul for sure.
It's funny, I said I came from the bones era... My favorites back then were all of the skull skates and Alva's, Schmidt Stix...
But even before all of that it was Hobie,
z-flex, variflex... all of the Dogtown era as well with my older brothers.
Andy truly encompasses the whole shebang in spades!
Absolutely 💯💯💯
Cool. Same age, similar thoughts i had learning about him 2y ago. Cheers!
44 here
Straight up
Andy talks of guys the worlds never heard of, pays respect to everyone whos helped pave the path to his success. MAD props to you brother! Great episode
Such a rad kid.
Yea pretty much the coolest guy in skating rn no doubt.
Wholesome and lovely lad. He reminds me of my younger, more optimistic self -- now I'm a cynical old C-U-Next-Tuesday

@@Throawei he’s dope but if you think he’s the coolest guy in skating right now you are smoking crack
I am 32 years old. The one thing other than his skating that i love about Andy is his attitude towards life. Its amazing.
He is an old soul
Such a positive dude. Mad respect
What does you being 32 years old have to do with that statement
@@NittyGritty420 they brought up the age of Andy’s fans…..
Age is of course inconsequential- however, being 37 years old myself... and skating for 32 years... I certainly share your sentiments.,
Can we all take a second to appreciate the fact that Roger just pulled out the name of some super obscure wheel company whose logo perfectly matches the description Andy gave? The man's an encyclopedia.
Every scene has their “nerds” and everyone should appreciate and cherish them. Without em the history is lost, and without the history the scenes lose their soul. Nerds keep the soul alive.
@@ultimomondocannibale6084 yeah that’s why I find the idea of nerds getting picked on by sports fans so laughable because they’re just a different type of nerd😂
Shout out Nigel Alexander (Nkavids) for giving him more spotlight. He really is the man.
100!!!!
1000%
Truth
Yeeees siir
Nigel is the maaan
Nka Vids put him on the map and Braille gave him the stage
The more Andy talks about himself, the more legit he becomes. Rare thing. Rad dude
I bet Chris and the guys almost feel like wannabes lol, that's how real Andy is
@@seife41 get out here with that nonsense.
Yea it's like you have to make him but when he does he's pure skateboarding in a way they could never be. So counter even the cool guys want to be around him without any intent for that result. How cool.
*Andy is so skilled, down to earth, and positive. The world needs more guys like him, what a great episode*
Down on a rather unflat earth, he's down to it for sure !! He's a trip and a great one, love the episode
Shoutout to Nigel from NKA vids, he gave Andy the spotlight he deserved.
Would be a sick 9 club episode
@@ceezus_ absolutely agreed
No doubt✌🤙
yeah, Nigel has an eye for talented skaters
yeah sometimes it sucks that you just want to compliment the guy but the comment section in his videos are disabled 😂
This guy's stealthily one of the most universally loved skaters and it all makes sense 🙌
SigO g
Really ironic that the people who hate him for the helmet are being called "posers" now.
@@AnttiBrax i mean they propably thought it isnt cool enough xD people should just get over there egos :)
When is NKA coming on the show? I feel like he would have the best stories and just interesting insights into skateboarding, plus he's just a really cool dude!
He has literally filmed or has hung out with every skateboarder I think lol.

you guys just helped me out more than you could know. this past month was rough, but more andy anderson helps a lot
Hope it gets better bro.
Positive vibes man
Is it because of covid laws ?
@@ObscureSampology nah, i got an injury and im 29 but theyre saying i cant ride or skate anymore. just fuckin sucks to be burnt out before 30
Keep Pushing bro. ✊🏽
Andy is the most down to earth skater in long time. He’s not a street skater, a park skater, or a freestyle skater. He’s just a skater. Good vibes all day Andy
Why do I like Andy Anderson? Skateboarding is a counter culture that breaks rules, and Andy is too counter culture even for skateboarding, and gives zero fucks. He breaks skateboarding’s rules on purpose. He wears helmets in filmed street parts, and does freestyle tricks in skate competition runs.
What a boss
Yet Thrasher won't give him the time of day.
@@ashleybrown4754 Thrasher and Zumiez is like Hot Topic. An image.
@@euminkong It's supposed to be our Bible yet they won't give the biggest skate rat the time of day because he wears a helmet. B.S.
@@ashleybrown4754 thrasher sucks now. Bunch of satanic crap force fed to society.
Fuckin love you, Andrew! That day we first met when you were 9, I could tell you cared about skateboarding's history. I also knew you would be were you are today. So proud of you! I apologize I lost touch with ya, kid. It was rad when we reconnected. Now it's 5:AM Skateboards
Andrew's father Paul is such a rad parent. 100% support 0% push.
Andy has always sported his helmet.
3 hours with andy = 3 hours with the bros, good vibes all the time.
Thank you Andy for existing.
I love how you guys change the background trinkets whenever a special guest comes on.
It's only for the very special, special guests ao

@The 3rd Spokesman wtf u talkin about?
This is the most excited I've heard Roger be in so long, true Andy fan!
The nine club will go down in history as the ancient scrolls containing all knowledge known in the world of skateboarding
How can you not like this guy? So rad!
Couldn't of clicked on this any faster!!! 3hrs with Andy YES!!!
Ur a member...u should have gotten this last night at 7
@@jemiiam dude I'm in Australia. The videos drop at weird times here. Didn't get to see the early release.
i still cant get over how good wee man's episode was
RIGHT. Very entertaining! I was trippin.
It was up and down. Boomer moments sprinkled throughout while he made fun of advanced version of similar career choices that weren't available for him. Also never acknowledged that he got lucky like everyone else prior to social media.
We need that 8 hour Mullen episode
More like 8mins 😂 that dude doesn't interview lol
crob pulls out a giant scroll and they ask him about each trick he created
thats what the world needs
8 hours of Rodney crying about an Ollie lmao
It's going to be painful to listen to. But amazing.
I love how Andy is like a fountain of historical knowledge. You can tell he's just a super curious guy who just loves life. Very wholesome!
Yoooooo finally!!! Been waiting for this for a hella long time
Edit: he deadass pulled out crystals mid interview 😂💀 man this is why we love Andy
'Worst day ever, looking down at some bullshit.' - Chris Roberts
Lmao this is definitely one of the highlights
👏🏻😂
About 50 min in... and thins might be the best one... Y'all are killing it. Andy is the goat at a young age. so awesome!
“I was interested in rocks at one point, I wanted to go buy a rock “ -Crob 2:36:10
lmao hilarious
I love rocks
Conversations like this really show how far skating has come. A skate shop from 1976 helped introduce a kid to styles before him. His culture had a commitment to skating and Andy is just so well rounded and fun to watch because of it. Awesome!
Ive come back and rewatched this at least once a year. An incredible mental refresher on how to look at life
NKA puts shine on a ton of kids who end up creating amazing careers in skating!
Jeron looks fly with that hair down
Fr looks like ice cube lol
usually somethin that only the ladies are privy to
big facts
1000%
Let it flow Jeron
Andy is like a skate encyclopedia, also the nicest dude ever. Its always nice to hear the story of someones come up when they're such a humble and cool person. peace !
One thing I love about CROB is that he is always totally devoted to establishing a clear and cohesive timeline of every guest’s career. No matter how interesting or tempting a tangent is, he always brings the guest’s attention back to discussing the core facets of their experiential skateboarding timeline in somewhat chronological fashion, and the rest of his crew do a great job at remembering to circle back to the bonus stuff later on as well. Mad respect to my man Chris Roberts and co. And thank frickin god for Andy Anderson for normalizing preventative safety as an act of Self-Love. the world needs that kind of thing now more than ever. I’m wearing my Mark Gonzalez Pro-Tec as we speak lol
Andy really figured out how be to be NICE and COOL at the same time. An inspiration!
Andy is so huge now it makes me so happy. He deserves all the love
Andy is one of my biggest inspirations in skateboarding today. I just got back on my board a little over a year ago and the way Andy thinks and talks about his craft is so cool. I'm 39 and will always be an Andy fan!
just watching this after the latest interview with Andy and seeing him sketching out and explaining the invisible lines in this one already :D
1000% BUTTERY!
CRob, to answer your question... people love Andy because of his style, contributions/thoughts and passion for skateboarding, along with him being a genuinely good dude.
Rodney Mullen | The Nine Club With Chris Roberts - Episode 200
yes please.. they did kind of hint at something when they were talking about him.
I feel like theyd have to do two volumes. Maybe 3?
I think koston
Man I remember Bill Danforth from R.A.D magazine, dude was wearing DMs and doing a 50-50 on a half-pipe. Can still remember the caption: "big-booted Billy Banforth booing a bifty- bifty" 😄
😂😂❤️
Big ol backside air
Front side as well, I remember the shot!
Wasn't that shot in skateboard! Magazine ? I'm also convinced it was taken at rollersnakes shop ramp , I may be wrong
Rollersnakes for sure, probably was Skateboard!
Andy sounds like Mark Gonzales.
So rad. Stoked on this.
Innocence + Wonder + Mad Skills on a board + Deep love and knowledge for skateboarding = Andy Anderson.
This is a living legend in the making.
I’m pumped and inspired by how genuine and positive Andy is!
thank you for finally getting andy on here...well deserved
This is such a nice treat. Thank you so much for bringing Andy here. I really enjoyed every part of your conversation. I hope he comes back again 🥰
I'm 33, not really a skateboarder and watching this video almost a year later because or Braille. Been a Nine Club sub for years though, but wouldn't have clicked this one without those guys.
i like andys way of approaching skating, taking a more conceptual approach, reference the old skool, but modernizing and adapting to how todays modern skaters approach spots. top notch!
That dude's got great energy. He showed me love at LES . Keep up the great skating
My favorite skater of all time and I'm 38 and have seen alot of skaters come and go. Love the show guys! Would love to see Johnny Giger!
Loved it so much. Andy is the man and The Nine Club is the place to be! Thank you guys^^
Andy is living proof that approaching life with authenticity and positivity can only bring forth good. He has transcended the entire skateboarding industry/community just by being himself
True indeed. He was kind of shit on by the skateboarding elites for a few years, including Nine Club a bit. I think he brings a lot of the energy that made people skate to begin with. It's not about doing the gnarliest things all the time, it's just about expressing yourself, and people latch onto that. Like no one fucking cares that he can't skate switch. Neither can I. His style is much more approachable, like you watch him and you (sometimes) go "I could do that."
He embodies what we all started this shit for in the first place. Have fun, be yourself and fuck what ever anyone says.
But still can’t get a write up in thrasher? Skateboard industry seems pretty toxic to me
@@jodo1971 it can be but there's a lot of great things happening in skateboarding in this era too
More and more intermingling and coming together in the community
@@stephanyampolsky7187 I get it but I feel like people have to have standards. No one's saying he can't wear the helmet, he's just not gonna do it and be in a Thrasher write up at the same time. And there's nothing wrong with that. Other magazines exist for a reason.
grew up skating with this dude, I would seriously light up whenever I got to Chuck Bailey park or Cloverdale and see this dude ripping around! always positive, always had a good attitude and would be hyping everyone up to get buck so his fame could not have happened to a better person! so well deserved Andy
Now this is how you start a Monday! Been waiting for this one!
3 more hours please and when Roger said Mind control talking about the fire hydrants got me so hyped and Andy got hyped too lol. Roger is on a level big fan of all of y'all!!
DUDE NKA NINE CLUB!! PLEASE MAN!!! NKA NKA NKA!!! Love you guys!!!
Skull Skates is OG af in Canada. They're THE shop.
I honestly always got a weird vibe from Andy when I'd hear him talk, but hearing him in this interview made me realize I was mistaken. He seems like such a good dude! So knowledgeable about skating from day 1!! In a class of his own. Cheers mane!
paused at 1 hour 30 mins in,,, holy moly feels like iv only been watching for 15 mins, i can watch this all day. love andy, love the nine club. what a great episode
Andy is awesome! Thanks for having him on
Andy is so wholesome. He should have secretly brought in like 200 empty Stella bottles, then every time the camera cuts away he just puts another one on the table in front of him and no one in the episode says anything. It would have blown minds.
Too specific.
lol you wouldn't notice a difference if all the bottles are empty 🤣
Andy is quickly becoming my favorite overall skater just from his approach and demeanor, let alone his skill. Glad he has found success. Edit: I'm 32 and like Braille too. Been skating my whole life, Andy, Braille and 9 Club are all awesome. :)
Andy is so chill and smart! Thanks for the shout out Andy! Butterflip lives on.
Man yall are killing it. The professor and now this!
Love this dude
Not diggin' this voice only Roger. Get in there dude! We want to see the crew! Love the show.
it is so weird not seeing roger!
Roger Roger Roger.....
When Schmitt heard his voice it scared the hell out of him😂
@Randy Lahey18 that’s a good idea!
Yeah agreed! I thought he was not there anymore
I've been on a video run and man, there's tears in my eyes. I'm a couple years younger than Andy and he radiates a light that resonates deep
I had no idea this was coming, and I’m absolutely blown away. The only misgiving I have is do I binge listen to the whole thing right now or do I spread it out? 🥵
Couldn't sleep. Started fuckin around on youtube. So happy I stumbled on this video!! Can't believe y'all finally got Andy! Very nice video.
Andy taught me how to skate, along with hippie mike. Andy was always the nicest most humble person and I’m so grateful that i had someone like him to look up to as a kid. So proud of this man.
I'm a 47 year old Canadian just getting back into skating again after 25 years. It's great to see a Canadian skater like Andy. My 7 year old daughter and I enjoy watching videos of Andy preforming amazing skate tricks on all kinds of terrain. Very inspiring...👊👍
How can you not love Andy Anderson dudes so sick
if you dont brush your teeth
this dude is awesome. very intelligent, creative and talented. got a bright future Andy much respect.
Damn. This was really good. Andy is 100% REAL.
Great great show guys...
Much love from Switzerland
Was just watching the Beagle tapes and just as I was about to call it a night, this pops up. You know me too fuckin' well, TH-cam.
Great episode glad you all are back at it! I think it would be hysterical to get Crob and Rick McCrank to skate around and shoot the shit, with there dry sarcastic takes, it'd be gold.
I knew we'd get it tonight! Thanks guys!
I was wondering before about Evan Smith's hair, how he keeps it at a bob and was that on purpose. Someone pointed out that sometimes hair only grows so long and that's it. I guess I'll see how long mine can get this last hair farm I'm growing now.
Watched half then went and had a curb session with my pal! Back now to watch the rest. 🤘
Watched the whole thing, i could sit here for days listening to these guys.
This is officially my all time favorite episode! I'm tagging "190" on my Anderson Flight deck Lol. Andy's the skate wizard for real!
I just watched Andy’s Pro Part and was blown away by how good he is, I had no idea that along with doing all the weird tricks he does that he also smith grinds HUGE handrails. Props to Andy Anderson for not being pressured into changing who he is as a skater.
Andy is such a good story teller. Get him on the experience channel such a good vibe.
Andy is the man! Super proud to share our Canadian heritage with such a salt of the earth brother like him. Wish he would’ve won gold, but I’m just as proud of him for making it there. I’m sure he had a blast. Can’t wait for him to do another 9 Club podcast. Shout out to Chris, as a great interviewer, stays on track, keeps bringing it back on topic but keeps it fresh after
Super sick interview Andy’s so sick, dude is carrying Powell right now
Fuck, I'm 38 and just started skating...I've adopted Andy as my favorite. He just seems like a wholesome dude
Skull Skates deserves its own Heritage Minute :)
Such a likeable guy. Well educated, full of respect for everyone, intelligent and an extremely creative and innovative skateboarder. Such a cool stop and chat. Thank you nine club 🙌🏻
I havnt even started playing this vid and I know this will be a classic
"Oh, I got a tea bag" Andy Anderson 💥🔥😂
Thank you guys for everything nine club is therapy for sure.
The fact that Thrasher won't give him his shine really shows how full of shit they are. He embodies skateboarding to the core.
Yeah you're giving thrasher way too much props.
@@therealwewin I grew up skating in the early 90's. That was THE mag. Just lame to see it so high school jock now.

I love how much History and impact Canada has had in skating
42:30ish - "it made you solidify who you wanted to be" - good words, captures the meaning of the memory well
There’s the G rated version of Andy and then there’s the laid back nine club version. He’s a cool ass dude, no question about it.
Andy is a really damn good dude. Very positive attitude and overall genuine. Props to him for sticking to his guns on being an individual. Look how it turned out 😎
Watched the 2nd interview earlier, loved it so much I had to watch the 1st one...awesome, respect for Anderson greatly improved...1st really saw him at Tampa and he just does whatever tf he wants...as an old school skater I love how his style reflects essentially all styles and era's
Lol bro jeron letting loose with that hair was hilarious! Lookin like a total g
This pod hits home for me because I live 5 minutes from Seylynn Bowl in North Vancouver and Griffon Park. White Rock where Andy's from is maybe an hour away in no traffic. I think Expo '86 made the Hastings Bowl famous, but what do I know. Great Pod!!! Learning lots!
