Steve reynard came up with this rig 10-15yrs a go now all of a sudden it has done the famous roundabout in the rig world again

Thats correct he certainly did and we thank Steve for his innovative thinking all them years ago , we dont claim to of invented this or revolutionised it in any way , we just like to make the public aware we sell all the components aswell as a pre tied version if anyone wishes to try

10-15 years ago is a long time, lots of new anglers will never have even seen this rig. Is it something you’ve used before Michael?

Yup, ..early 90's I made this rig inspired by an article in a cheaply made small Dutch or Belgian fishing 'magazine' with allways a bleu cover. I believe it was called 't Vissertje (?).
The only difference was those guys used it for river/strong current fishing with a seperate elastic bungy cord (course fishing) knotted on the outside of the braid, with the bungy cord straight and the braid kept in a bow. The idea was the fish could allways inhale the bait even when the rig was laying straight down the river current.
I simply used Kryston Merlin threaded through silicone tubing with the tubing fixated on the "diamond eye" swivels. It caught me fish and I maybe had a few less tangle - never had much because of feathering the lead down -, but that was it.
Years later I read an article of an Englishman claiming the rig. Didn't care👍. Still don't care much about 'special' rigs. I'm more about pre baiting fish and peace of mind on the bank 🤫😉. And as we know that 2nd one is not an easy one for the last 20, 25 years.

@@totalcarpmagazine hi morning m8 yes caught loads, i used a small peice of lead wire in the end of the tubing it helped in balancing my pop ups and also nailed it to the deck, a small shot on the hair behind pop up finished the job critically balanced and spun the hook, the braid was super silk in 25lb 👍

I think Ritchie McDonald made the bungee rig famous back in the 80's. Obviously it was tied differently as these products were not around then but the result is the same. I think he was using it as a buffer to enable him to use very fine lines for his carp fishing. I seem to remember 3lb bs being mentioned.

Old but effective, personally i prefer trigger link easy to use and gives you more options yet,omc thought the tragic twig was needed for the same effect

Nice to see you're keeping things simple mate!! 😮😮
It looks like an absolute nightmare to me!!
I think I will stick to my slip D, blow back, Chod, Ronnie, and a load of other easy to tie rigs that have done me well over the past few years.
It always amazes me why people have to complicate things.
I would have properly caught a couple of fish by the time you had tied just one of these rigs!! 😅 but thanks for sharing anyway my friend, and good luck 👍 😊

If you check out the rest of our channel, we do a whole host of different rig videos. Some may be new to anglers, some not and some rigs aren’t for everyone. But, that’s okay. As long as we can provide information that may help anglers out, that’s all the matters 😊

I find it amazing how all these companies or reps know what happens in a carps mouth it does this when they do that its total bs carp do not do you as the korda brigade claim if the hook doesnt prick then its coming back out no matter what material you use ,dont straighten your rig if its straight hows it got movement its like the original hinged stiff the loops gave it vertical movement so it could be sucked in and you really a big lead 4oz at least and a needle point hook to get the best out of these rigs was playing with trigga link 20+ years ago due to a mate being a nash tester .so do tell me how is a hook anti eject what a total load of utter bollocks and learn about twist when you whip a knot like that run your fingers right to the end n take out any twist

    • @totalcarpmagazine
      @totalcarpmagazine  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

The video is to show how to tie the rig, not how a carp’s mouth works. Also, where you mention anti eject, that’s the name of the hook pattern from PB.

It might look slightly complicated, but i bet you a pound to a penny, 90% of anglers couldn't be bothered to tie something like that, which in turn could be a massive edge.
I found carp fishing now day's on certain lakes i fish are getting easier as most anglers fish the same 😂😂
