I haven't watched the video, but I suspect that what matters is the viewer's response to hearing "This is a soulless Euro." Is it "Thanks, I'll avoid it," or "Okay, but is it a good soulless Euro?"
I am honestly surprised you guys haven't seen multi use cards before. In recent memory, lacrimosa does it. Before that, Newton has been a megahit which does it too. Chudyk made a living out of multi use cards with GtR (i haven't played), Innovation, mottainai etc. And of course, the grandfather of this La Granja got a recent deluxified reprint. But I am glad you got to experience that mechanisn through this game.
The amount of times I have heard about "this can be my game of the year!" from board game reviewers is incessant. Last year I got swept in by Foundations of Rome for being 2022's "game of the year"... yeah not even close! Then Oathsworn came and knocked its ass on the ground. This year... is it Frosthaven? Or is it not? You can't trust it.
It hasn't disappeared. It is steadily climbing up the bgg ranks and going to break into top 200 soon. An average 8.2 rating across 4000 raters is no joke. Maybe it's not being posted about on facebook and insta as much, but it's far from forgotten.

It's fun. The end.

I have, but Kim had not. She's still pretty new to board games but at this point has played a ton in the past year.
Great discourse. Not so great audio quality haha
Hopefully it has gotten better haha
I like the new camera angle at 2:43. So professional! :D
hahahaha
another game everyone talked about for a week and then disappeared when the next "best game of the year" was out a week later
Got to keep that access to early games coming, bro!
