I was born and raised in Saint John. I moved away 21 years ago to live overseas and to travel the world, but I keep coming back home because it’s where my heart is. I never understood why so many people I knew (who were not from SJ) hated Saint John so much and disparaged it. I love you, Les and Wendy, because I feel that we are kindred spirits. You are able to see the same beauty that I see and I feel a soul connection to you both because of this. Your videos are an absolute pleasure to experience. Please keep making them.

I was 12 and turn 13 a couple months later when we moved to Ontario from saint John. As you know I started a group, if I may mention here " North End Remembered" which shows what that area looked like way before the Urban renewal and the Harbour Bridge. I love your post as it shows how much the city has changed over the last 6 plus years since I lived there as a child. At the start of this video our house just about where your camera was pointing, which now is all gone as well as Rockland Road would have been just beyond the bushes in the front of you. Again I love your post keep up the good work.

Nice video, got to see where my husband worked, the grey building just before tin can beach (doesn’t look like any other business has moved in, was xwave). Then you drove by two places where my Nanny lived ( Leinster and King Street E). The one on King Street E i made of red brick. The one on Leinster is just old, she thought it was haunted

All our life we've lived in huge cities and I miss that city feel. Would it be feasible to live in the suburbs and commute into uptown Saint John for work? We are in the process of getting our Canadian residency and I've fallen in love with the Saint John area. However, my husband and I would prefer to purchase a home with a little bit of acreage. How far out from the city would we have to go to get a home on 2+ acres? Thank you for these videos!
Yes, Victoria, that is very possible. Saint John is a compact city with a lot of rural areas surrounding it. There are many acreages within a 20-30 minute drive of uptown, probably some even closer than that. Of course, you'd have to find one that was for sale, but if you're asking if it's feasible, the answer is yes.
Saint John is dog friendly. Most of the restaurant patios welcome dogs and have water bowls for them. The law doesn't allow dogs inside where food is served.
I am very sad and angry for the mistakes and the latest discoveries. What I am against is taking down statues, plaques etc. It will not make it all go away, all it does is hide it. We must remember we are judging what happened a hundred years ago with the standards of today.
Now that you've mentioned that Canada isn't perfect. Maybe you could make a video about the challenges that future immigrants will face? Thanks anyway!

Yes, Victoria, that is very possible. Saint John is a compact city with a lot of rural areas surrounding it. There are many acreages within a 20-30 minute drive of uptown, probably some even closer than that. Of course, you'd have to find one that was for sale, but if you're asking if it's feasible, the answer is yes.

Saint John is dog friendly. Most of the restaurant patios welcome dogs and have water bowls for them. The law doesn't allow dogs inside where food is served.
I am very sad and angry for the mistakes and the latest discoveries. What I am against is taking down statues, plaques etc. It will not make it all go away, all it does is hide it. We must remember we are judging what happened a hundred years ago with the standards of today.
