Haha hey I taught at that drift school! Unfortunately we have to keep that pad sprayed down because it's a firefighter training facility and they don't want a bunch of black marks all over their nice concrete....it's a huge pain in the butt. Otherwise we would totally make them learn in the dry. The wet is definitely beneficial for some that are brand new to anything that has to do with drifting, but by the end of the day most of them need to learn the commitment level it takes to break loose in the dry.
Yeah totally agree!!! It can for sure teach the basics but mannnnn the speed in the dry is soooooo much more wild! Thats cool you guys we're able to make it work tho! Respect! We need more classes and like schools kinda like that!
Yeah if we had a big skid pad around here we totally would use it to teach in the dry! Maybe someday 🙏
I'm watching from England we have no choice but to learn to drift in the wet. We are usually in the beer garden when the sun's out
Hampton Downs NZ you can do exactly what you are talking about. Practice on the wet skid pan then head to the club track when you are ready and send it.

If you were paying closer attention you can see that Lebufoni, she’s a professional skateboarder Letucia Bufoni, and she was actually just sliding to a stop not trying to continue the slide…. That’s why she want for and held the handbrake

I was at that drift school. It is so weird seeing my car on TH-cam outside of my drift channel. BTW they wet the track down mainly to keep from leaving marks on the fire department's training facility.

Yeah except drifting a real car is probably easier its incredibly fkin hard to drift rc drift cars at least in my experience from trying one maybe it was just a shit rc
@@MV-ri7zu i think rc cars are actually a little bit harder, because the only feedback it gives you is visual (you cant feel ffb on the wheel or g forces). But then in the other hand with and rc car you are always on 3rd person so it makes it easier to see around the car.
In conclusion real drifting is maybe still a bit easier (my experience with drifting are assettocorsa, beamng and rc drifting)

Yeah they do, I’ve been drifting for a few years, and rc drifting for longer. Rc drifting is definitely a lot harder with regards to things like weight transfer

The girl using the hand brake is leticia bufoni. She’s a pro skater. Just had that car built I believe. Pretty sure she’s brand new to drifting.
Yes I can tell and I’m just giving good advice id tell anyone. I tell all beginners to avoid using the handbrake. That’s the way I like teaching and have found others become much more aggressive drivers that way.

Those Rocket Bunny s14s are soooo God damn gorgeous the nose,headlights,grill reminiscent of 70 challenger,cuda with the single round headlights I'm still waiting to see one with a 71,72, or 73 style cuda grill custom made and wedged in (I'm actually surprised I haven't seen it rendered yet either)

I love my 2019 MX5 Club but the ONE thing I hate about it is that the handbreak is on the passenger side. I assume to keep costs down when converting the chassis for the US market.

I have a question tho haugen why isn’t hand brake good I’m not the best at drifting or anything but I personally like to drift but can’t u sometimes hold angle and create more angel with hand break just wondering
It's just more so like a "lazy" drift kinda. Like handbrake is a tool and the main problem is people get dependent on it and start over using it and it makes it so other techniques aren't learned or used properly. Some corners 100% will be like a "you gotta use handbrake here" type deal but again, handbrake is a tool, not a crutch.
