  • Thanks to the invite of a fellow digger, we had access to a yard with at least 5 privies. Watch to find what we managed to pull out of the ground behind an old log house.

      That China marble is probably the best one we've found so far! We plan on going back out this weekend and hopefully score a few good pits.

    My brother has the same shed just bigger. They warp and his came apart too we ended up using metal angle brackets to hold the one corner together. Nice to get some pontiled stuff. I wasn’t getting notifications of your videos. I didn’t have the alert turned on. I do now!

      We were eventually able to put it back together. Our process would have made for good video. Thanks for watching, Robert!

    The Elixir bottle is an English Daffy's Elixir. That looks like an early type, too, possibly 1820s or earlier.

    Did you ever notice when construction crews are digging deep trenches they have a safety encasement to prevent collapse ?

    • @cloverdalediggers
      @cloverdalediggers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. This hobby is full of risks that you have to know which ones to stay away from and which ones to accept. Privies around our area are generally safe because they are either lined with stone/brick walls or compacted clay. That's also the reason to never dig deep holes by yourself as in having someone to watch the walls or act quickly in the case of an emergency. We've heard some bad stories and that's why we are always mindful in and out of the hole.
