I can agree with that to be honest at this point with them because then everyone can do whatever they want with Star Wars, but won’t happen for the next few decades at this point unfortunately.
18:08 let’s be fair. She’s certainly not the reason those films were great. She’s the equivalent of the group member that did the least work on the project and still gets credit for how well it turned out.
It sucks, but I’m just grateful we have the original (unaltered) OT. Nothing Disney can do will ever take it away from me. I simply don’t consider Disney to be canon.
I feel like that's how most of us are feeling hahaha, we'll always have the originals, but mannnnn the ending of VI hits so much different now for me now knowing what comes after. Thank you for the comment!
Awesome video man 😎👍🏼. The main thing that really made me hate the Disney Star Wars timeline, is how they killed off the Skywalker/Solo bloodline. George Lucas‘s original script for a sequel trilogy gave proper closure to this family. I’m not saying every single Star Wars story should involve the Skywalkers but at least give them a proper ending and give hints that the bloodline will continue for future stories. Bring back Mara Jade! Ok rant done. Lol 😂
Great point man! I think that's a whole other video for me to make hahaha, the fact that there wasn't even one scene with the three originals is INSANE in hindsight! Thank you for th comment!
@@chaseazarian Apparently JJ thought the old characters would overshadow the new ones. So.... just give them a proper send-off together??? GAH. Even if the sequels were retconned somehow, they can never bring Han, Luke, and Leia together. I'll always be salty because of that.
All of the problems you mentioned are really on point. It's really hurting to see this franchise go nowhere while shooting themselves on the foot multiple times. I really agree that Lucasfilm needs to have more confidence, bring in people who are actually passionate and have a good track record and tell a good f story. Just like Marvel, they have to treat it as an event, something that can only be seen once in a year or so while also being different from Marvel since Star Wars doesn't really need individual stories to support the bigger episodes.
Glad we are on the same page once again man! I really do feel like bringing in a big time name everybody trusts like Nolan or Del Toro would do wonders to anticipation again, but only time will tell if that will be a reality. Thank you for the comment as always!
@@chaseazarian my pleasure. As someone who wants to be a filmmaker and son of a dad who was a huge fan of Star Wars, I want the franchise to succeed again.
Excellent points. Doesn't help that they pretty much did the Skywalker saga dirty, marginalized Han, Luke, and Leia in their prime, and then tossed them aside after either turning them into lossrs or giving them zero character growth. They either don't matter to the bigger picture aftsr ROTJ or were made the reason why things only got worse.
What made Episodes 1 to 6 great was the attention to detail that George Lucas gave those films. I'm not convinced that another director will have the same love and patience
I agree with the first part, but I think there are plenty of talented people who love what Lucas created, and I'm sure some of them out there would make something AWESOME if the higher ups at Disney gave them a shot (with creative control of course). I appreciate the comment!
I feel like they are trying with the Mandoverse stuff but time will tell, I just don’t know if that will ever make up for the sequel trilogy for me lol! Thank you for the comment!
@@chaseazarian I understand and I do agree that there is a lot of flaws that The Sequels have. I just hope the Fans would be more Excited about Star Wars again instead of Fighting each other. Not saying your doing that just the fandom as far as I have seen has been like that. And No problem! God bless you 🙏
I agree that moving the story to an entirely different time or place would make better stories. But what's the point in it being a Star Wars story at that point? Would Firefly or Alien be somehow improved with Star Wars branding?
I have to disagree with the Marvel comparison...or well I mean that Star Wars is like Marvel, and it's been so before Disney came along. Since 1991, there have consistently been new Star Wars stories in forms of books, comics and video games. And even though Lucas was not involved, Lucasfilm was, and there was an effort to keep everything within the same canon. The only difference now is that those stories are being told through live action rather than print. And sometimes knowledge of those stories is good. Revenge of the Sith made no effort to explain who Grevious was or where he came from. But I did know when I saw that movie in 2005 because I watched the Clone Wars tv show that came out in 2002.
Very valid point right here! Admittedly I never got too deep into the book side of things, so I'm sure there are way more educated than me to talk about that. I think the key difference is you could enjoy those first six episodes without having a single piece of knowledge from any of the other books, shows, or comics...whereas with this upcoming Mando and Grogu movies, you'll NEED to watch all of those shows to know what is happening. Thank you for the comment, great perspective!
I agree! I think Kylo Ren is great and even Rey was cool enough for me, but they didn’t give those characters enough + ruining the old characters did not help at all. Thank you for the comment!
Help us Tony Gilroy, youre our only hope. Andor is literally the only good thing to come out of the SW IP... since Rogue One. Hopefully Acolyte strikes a more serious tone. I don't have a problem with Rey or Daisy Riddley... I just want to see new shit with not shit writing.
I’ve heard that the writing is good but the problem is that it does nothing original. In other words it uses the same “rebels vs Empire” idea that Disney is obsessed with. Seriously man it’s just overdone to the point where it’s irritating. Even “The Closer Look” guy mentioned this problem as well.
I’m glad most people love it! For me it’s a decent/solid show, but I think most of the other Disney+ shows are so disappointing that it makes it feel better than it actually is if it makes sense? Like I wouldn’t put Andor in the same conversation of a Game of Thrones (most of GoT anyway) or Breaking Bad you know? And I think the best franchise out there deserves that treatment. Thank you for the comment!
Not my favorite (well of the Disney+ shows probably, but in terms of all TV not really). I think it’s a step in the right direction, but I think the franchise deserves even better than that, and I think if they get the right filmmakers it will happen. Thank you for the comment!

It *did* fall apart…but it seems to not be turning around anytime soon lol
Did you watch the Acolyte? Yes, it is still actively falling apart
I feel like when the rights to star wars is in the public domain we will get someone To make a truly honest, good star wars movie
I can agree with that to be honest at this point with them because then everyone can do whatever they want with Star Wars, but won’t happen for the next few decades at this point unfortunately.
I’ve been out since Revenge of the Sith. I pity any that went beyond that

"Yea Randall, people LOVED the Disney trilogy"
Still can’t believe Clerks 3 didn’t mention it too smfh

It sounds like a 70s variety show: The Mandolorian & Grogu Hour, brought to you by Folgers coffee.
I Hope they will try to bridge the gap between Episodes 6 and 7 with shows and possible other movies. Like what clone wars did for The prequels
