When you started talking I was like hey that sounds like and then you introduced yourself and I feel like SRS has added a very solid contributor to it's already solid set.
Yeah they invested in Sizemore, Hafner and Fausto Carmona and let Victor Martinez, Cliff Lee and CC Sabathia go. Nobody would have argued that choice at the time, even with Carmona who was “younger” (lol) than the the other pitchers. In retrospect... oops.
I remember late 90s and early 2000s bisons games (AAA) when they had sizemore, sexton, crisp and other future awesome MLB players. Knew grady was going to be great once he moved up.
Great content. I remember Grady sizemore consistently being on the highlights back when he played for Cleveland. I had no idea he put up those kind of stats .Thanks & please keep the content coming. 👍⚾️💯
I can’t wait for the Mark Prior video in the future for this series. Keep up the good work olive you have a knack for this stuff. You’ve joined a really solid group too. SRS has been fantastic for years now.
I've been subbed to your channel since you had like 200 subs. After the first vid of yours that I saw, I knew you were gonna be successful in this scene. I'm glad that not only have you been successful but it's happened very quickly. You do great work and you deserve all the success you find here.
Still love Grady to this day. Will always be a big fan. His fielding was insane, a highlight machine. I swear I remember him making a diving catch on the warning track over his head with his back to home plate (like Willie mays but diving) and it's probably the greatest catch I've ever seen but I can't find it anywhere. Does any1 else remember that specifically? He played with reckless abandon in the field which made him great but is rough on the body. Him and Griffey jr. are my favorite center fielders ever and both sacrificed their health in order to do everything possible to record an out. How can you not love a player like that if you're a fan
Grew up with the mid 2000s Tribe. Was always a Hafner guy (who could probably have his own video) but Sizemore was always who I thought of when I think 5 tool.
I was at a double header against the Royals in 2004, Cleveland was down 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th and managed to tie it. A base hit and a walk later, Sizemore comes to bat. He manages a full count and then drills a base hit between the short stop and third baseman to win the game. It was my first time seeing him in person and the whole atmosphere during that game was like every one knew just how special this kid was going to be.
Dude I love jolly olives videos I had no idea this channel was a collaboration of other sports TH-camrs who are the other members? I really like this channel
congrats kid! big follower of Jolly Olive and Start Raving Sports! keep up the good work! also, on either channel can you do a "one hit wonders" episode? Kevin Maas type stuff
Great vid, Kevin Mitchell is one of the biggest what ifs with injuries. Look at what he did in non full seasons either cut by strike or injury. He would've been a strong candidate for hof if he didn't get constantly injured in his prime,he probably would've played longer too.
02:18 "Best heckle I've ever heard." That was great. The best I ever heard was years ago at a minor league game. A batter struck out without taking a single swing and somebody yelled. "Do you rent that bat?" "Are afraid you'll lose your deposit if you take a swing?"
Grady Sizemore so underrated he’s one my favorite outfield in the whole 2000s era I wished he played on good team win championship but unfortunately destiny took him way took him too early
They were one game from the World Series in 2007 (we don't talk about the ending). But if Sizemore was consistent and healthy by the time Francona came, the Indians would've definitely taken the Central title from the Tigers in 2013
I grew up a huge Indians fan and Grady Sizemore was always my favorite player. He signed my hat at Jacobs Field (Progressive) during pre game warm up. I stopped watching baseball around 2009 and am just now getting back into it a little. Awesome to see how my low key favorite player of all time was actually a stud in retrospect lol
Grew up watching Sizemore and that team. Sad to see him get wiped out but sometimes that's the way it goes. No doubt he would have been a hall of famer
When I first found srs it made me watch baseball games live then I found jolly olive and it made me happy and then they teamed up and I was even more happy. You should also team up with baseball doesn’t Exist he makes great videos and would also help the channel a lot
when i was a kid grady was my fave player. My grandpa and me went to every indians opening day every year and he would always do some crazy shit it was so fun to watch.
I remember having sizemore on my fantasy team in his prime. He scored so many points, I kept picking him up for years after even tho he wasn't the same player, just hoping that I could get another taste. He was electric.
Sizemore was tearing it up right around the time I started getting into baseball, and he quickly became one of my favorite players despite the fact im no Cleveland fan--oh, what he could have been… What a shame.
My favorite player of all time is Will Clark he only missed getting into the Hall of Fame because of injuries. His last season in 2000 after getting traded to the cardinals from the Orioles he hit .345 with 12 homers and 42 RBI in 51 games when McGuire was injured helping St Louis into the post season. He was a clutch hitter who played the game the right way I still watch him on TH-cam
going to indians games growing up in 04-08 was the best !! Grady ALWAYS played !! it was so sick until he got the injury covid bug...he was GOATd bro..so sick to see live. i got a ball tossed to me from him too pre game and still have it !
Those teams with Grady, Shin Soo-Choo, Asdrubal Cabrera and Lonnie Chisenhall will forever live in my mind as a dark age that could have been a great age. Those teams back in the early 2010s could have gone somewhere. All we have to show for it is one playoff appearance (a wild card loss) in 2012.
Im from Washington State and a huge mariniers fan, but growing up (I'm 32) I've always been a huge Grady Sizemore fan.. Sucks his career was ended by injuries
Damn. If there has ever been a video essay series that could comfortably house the story of Nomar Garciaparra I'd bet the farm this is it. Nobody better to relay the info either.
Got to love sabermetrics. They help everyone that doesn’t know how to evaluate talent by knowledge of the game. They help though give some context just not always accurate context
Even though his career was cut short can we appreciate the fact that he made a shit tone if money while playing the game he loved and was damn good at it
It was a great time to be a Cleveland fan, such a promising player then Grady Sizemore turned into Grady Hurtmore and Travis Hafner turned into Travis Halfyear.
This Olive fella sounds pretty smart in my humble opinion
Yeah sounds like he would have a pretty cool Channel…
Hi
hey i agree i subbed to whoever that dude was a while back and picked up the meme of that channel narvaez to my fantasy team
When you started talking I was like hey that sounds like and then you introduced yourself and I feel like SRS has added a very solid contributor to it's already solid set.
I didn't look at who made it so I thought it was a jolly Olive video
*grabs popcorn, and tissues*
HE'S HERE
@@JollyOlive it was only a matter of time.
YES
Hello
At least you’ve got something to take your mind off yesterday’s game.
Trent Grisham could be healthy Grady Sizemore.
Foolish: Hey! Sac bunts!
SRS: Hey! Grady Sizemore!
Both great videos guys! Love all the content!
So glad my team got rid of him because of ONE error...
Grady Little and Tom Sizemore could collectively be old and extremely unhealthy Grady Sizemore.
AND THE BALL GETS AWAY FROM GRISHAM IN RIGHT
THATS GONNA SCORE THREE RUNS
Please don't say that, I'm a Dodgers fan 😔. Trents ceiling is insane. I watch the Padres a lot and that guy's gonna be trouble, soon.
Good for olive joining SRS he’s definitely gonna improve the quality of the Chanel
Yeah, their handbags have really fallen off since 2016.
Yeah, I agree.
@@TheNatural502 lmao
Dude I didnt even realize this was an SRS video when I first clicked on it. I thought it was Olive's channel. This is pretty cool
same
Travis Hafner’s decline due to injury around that same time was bad for Cleveland, too. Hafner was one of most intimidating hitters at his peak.
That dude had insane power
Him and Sizemore were a great tandem
Yeah they invested in Sizemore, Hafner and Fausto Carmona and let Victor Martinez, Cliff Lee and CC Sabathia go. Nobody would have argued that choice at the time, even with Carmona who was “younger” (lol) than the the other pitchers. In retrospect... oops.
Pronk!
Travis Hafner was the original Chris Davis
1:40 I'm sure it was intentional but I like how when you said "how insane Grady Sizemore was", he made that grin towards the camera
Everytime I go through the comment section and find a quote from the video it always happens simultaneously. It's getting creepy
Everyone: Avengers Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover event in history
Jolly Olive x SRS: Allow us to introduce ourselves
I remember late 90s and early 2000s bisons games (AAA) when they had sizemore, sexton, crisp and other future awesome MLB players. Knew grady was going to be great once he moved up.
Mr. olive has arrived!
Grady Sizemore was one of my favorites!! He was healthy for a couple seasons!! Played in all 162 games for a few seasons
I really like how you present the stats in screen, it looks fantastic
As an Indians fan who grew up watching Grady Sizemore I’m happy to see actual how good he really was a the time
Him and Travis Hafner were really fun to watch growing up
Except he was average
Same, he was my favorite player growing up but I remember better the weaker years than his good years. He actually works in our organization now
Agreed. Couldn’t tell if it was nostalgia but it’s nice to have it confirmed he was legit
@@Tank4Lifeyou’re on every Sizemore video saying that. What a nuance
Grady was a damn monster when he was healthy. Definitely one of the biggest "what ifs" in baseball history.
Eric Davis too
This dude was awesome. Definitely think he deserves way more respect than he gets.
SRS and Jolly Olive make hearing stats and numbers fun for me :) Keep it up guys
He knocked up that one dude's sister....
EDIT....oh snap, JO put it in lol
Grady will always be my favorite player of all time. He is a big reason why I fell in love with baseball as a kid.
Congratulations to the Jolly Olive on your new venture. I'm excited for the future of your videos. You provide an excellent product. Congrats again.
Great content. I remember Grady sizemore consistently being on the highlights back when he played for Cleveland. I had no idea he put up those kind of stats .Thanks & please keep the content coming. 👍⚾️💯
Been watching Olive for a hot minute now, and I think he's one of the best baseball TH-camrs. Glad to see he's joining SRS!

"Wasn't eating a healthy balanced breakfast yet" lol
Grady was one of my favorite players when I was little. I used to be him for Halloween every year
Grady Baby was the man, he was god in MLB the show when it first hit the scene, no better player to stroke with back in the day
‘09 version he was impossible to get out. That power/speed combo was dangerous.
Love the addition to the team! Sure to follow more! Well done JO!

"Hey sizemore my sister told me she's pregnant! Come on you jerk" -random fan from years ago
the best heckle in sports history.
Love that our announcers acknowledged it by laughing
Grady was a beast when he was healthy especially in MVP 05.
No! In MLB the show he was the man
Great video! I loved sizemore! He was an amazing athlete, I'm glad he's not forgotten!
SRS: Grady could be barry
Fuzzy: Grady is Barry
He is tho
Through 26 he was.

Damn Foolish Baseball and SRS posted on the same day? It’s a good day
Retro baseball hit us with a damn good one today too. I've been so wccited to get off work to watch the other ones. Lol
Nice work looking at his accomplishments. He was a beast and sure hall of famer if injuries didnt kill his career.

He has an OF poster on his wall, I automatically like him.
Man of culture
J-O is on SRS now? absolutely insane roster building here
Brady sizemore, cliff lee, and Brandon Phillips for Bartolo is a crazy deal
It’s equally crazy that Bartolo played more recently than all of those players
Too bad Eric Wedge ran Brandon Phillips out of Cleveland.
