@Flynn McMillan as an all rounder, whose also a foreigner and plays in India it's like 4-5x worse because they don't know what racism is haha. So when it doubt seeing as you're taller than everyone, actually bounce them in the head on a flat track that isn't bouncy
For those who are wondering how fast he was bowling, he was bowling in the high 130s and low 140s. Pretty good considering the average speed for 1st grade bowlers are 120-130
Love the camera angle , especially from diagonally behind the bowler. It is a far better translation of the pace of the bowling compared to straight behind the bowlers arm
Great celebrations James. Just needed Warner to be playing, score a ton, whip the lid off, leap and punch the sky, then do a lap around the field as three people clap.
He was prodigy in Test Cricket. Just searched him on Google and sad that he has retired like 2 years ago. Injuries have ruled out too many good fast bowlers over time and Pattinson happened to be one of them. This just hurts to a true cricket fan.
@@ben9DB Exactly!! The current angle in International Cricket only focuses on the batsmen. You can't really tell the subtle differences between deliveries that the bowlers make to deceive batsmen
He didn’t get dropped, he’s still Australia’s 1st or 2nd choice pacer after Cummins, Hazlewood and Starc. You’ll be surprised about how many international crickets play grade cricket for their clubs in the off season
There was no domestic state cricket or international cricket on for the last 2-3 weeks when big bash finals were on so there have been heaps of professionals playing 1st grade cricket not getting dropped at all.
A (at the time ) current Surrey fast bowler played a one off game in a Bournemouth side as a favour to one of his mates , well the teams rule at the time was that you have to earn your place in the first team so this fast bowler played for the second's , he turned up and opened the bowling , the first 2 balls the batsman didnt see and the 3rd hit his bat , he didnt hit it ,it hit the bat and rocketed through the slips ( who didnt see it either) and crashed into the boundary !! The 4th ball , again , hit the bat and flew away and the fielder made a galant effort to catch it but dropped it ! the batsman strode off to the pavilion not realising he was not out , he got to the pavilion and they told him he wasnt out his reply was ' F$%k that im not going back there I have a family to feed ' lol
Notice he bowls few bouncers. They are quite dangerous at lower levels, when a real fast bowler is playing. That’s considerate, but it does allow the batsmen to get on the front foot. In a higher level game the batsman has to second guess when the short one is coming, and that’s what gets top level batsmen out. Much of the fear factor also is reduced when bouncers are removed.
I'd like to be opening the batting against a quickie like Pattinson and watch him get madder and madder when I start playing my usual array of French cuts and snicks through the slips ...😊
Brilliant. Isn’t it awesome to see a genuine champion fast bowler doing what fast bowlers do, stickin it up the batsman when they knock em over!! Does anyone know if there is history between the pair? Or if anything was said prior to the dismissal? Pattinson’s international career was far too short, without injury he would have played 80 tests at least. Loved watching him back in the day!! I hope he is still getting up the batsmen today!! 👊🏻
Considering Pattinson's quality, that first guy looked pretty comfortable facing him. Small sample size I know, but still. Is he a first class cricket?
Thought it was the actor when I read the title. Just realised that the actor is Robert Pattinson. Wonder if he's any good at bowling? Or if James can act?
After getting Laxman and Tendulkar out, he's pretty pumped getting out a college kid! Still its actually fun to see the difference in the levels which one rarely gets to see. The batsmen are all playing way too late, and have probably never faced this speed before.
Pat cummins and pattinson started their career together, and that time pattinson was more primising than cummins, pattinson used to bowl with skills, but unfortunately pattinson became an ordinary bowler and cummins made hardwork to uplift his game
Pattinson Hazlewood Starc Cummins they should be immediate selections every time on all surfaces four prong pace attack chuck in Lyon then front up with your best batters there's enough artillery there for 20 wickets.. serious list there!
Fast bowling is brutal on the body. I’m fingers crossed for Jofra Archer and whether he can still sling it quick. I thought he’d been written off as a crock, it’s fucked him up for 4 years and he has an easy economical action. The effort guys who bend their backs have been known to end up virtually disabled.

Great bowler with good pace and movement, maybe if is a little bit higher in his delivery stride he can get some more bounce. You can clearly see he is a cut above the batsmen.
University of Melbourne have a side that is represented in Premier Cricket (Cricket Victoria). In times past one had to be a student to play for the club but not so anymore, although some students studying at the University do play for the club.
Giving the lad a send off, I'd have launched my bat at him. Setting a proper example to grass roots cricket. International, test, professional clean bowls an amateur... Well done.
Onya Patto. You managed to skittle and spray a part time baker who was up at 4am that morning working his second job. Real courageous stuff from an Australian cricketer, not to mention role model to many young aspiring cricketers.
Playing for Melbourne Uni he is more likely a Lawyer than a Baker. Its First Grade district cricket, just below Shield Cricket. These blokes are not mugs.
0.45 - "How many did you make on the weekend?
"I only made 3, but I walked down the wicket to James Pattinson"

100% most of these guys are close to first class selection , the standard is very high I loved the competitiveness from Pattinson
Yep use to play against them all the time in grade cricket. First class players and the occasional test player
@Flynn McMillan obviously not a fast bowler then, nothing better than hitting the bails off

It only strengthens the depth of the comp because lower grades have to play up when the upper grade players get carted off in an ambulance.
Love that he still has passion at whatever level he plays ! Hope he gets more opportunities this ashes series
You just had to say that didn't ya
He retired
Passion is not the same as arrogance and abuse
Has to play a lower level to get wickets then gives verbals to college players 🤣

I wasn't wondering, but thanks all the same.

Absolutely. I've got old footage of him bowling a 147 k bouncer from that angle. It's a beauty.
I really wish they show this angle in international cricket as well. Gives us an appreciation of the pace involved.
Side on for pace bowling and behind the bowler for spin.
The IPL coverage this year will have these different camera angles, I'm excited for that.
Best angle to watch the game.. that's why my fav fielding position is mid off😉
You cannot check the swing dear as viweres perspective compared to the straight behind the bowler view....
Great celebrations James. Just needed Warner to be playing, score a ton, whip the lid off, leap and punch the sky, then do a lap around the field as three people clap.
Would you prefer him to trundle in, not care, get smacked around and then say he’s too good to be playing this level?! A-hole!
In australia which sport is most famous and maximum youth of Australia likely to play which sport???

That's awesome. Good on him. Where do you think he played before he played for Australia? Fiery fast bowler that every team wants.
I remember how deadly he was in 2011-12 India vs Australia series, almost finished India alone
Looks rapid
He was a monstrous bowler with 150+ speed
Yes... And a complete bowler... Had the control, swing (both ways), seam, etc everything and did it at high pace...
Injuries ruined it.
