Birthday Model Train Unboxing - I Didn't Expect This!

- Here is a parcel I've wanted to unbox for a while now and today I got to do so. Inside was several model train pieces, sent as a birthday gift. This included a Milwaukee Hiawatha hat, rolling stock, a vintage Lionel catalog, pop tarts and a KATO Burlington Route locomotive in N scale. Huge thanks to Kontroller Packers for all of this!

Very nice things you got for your birthday. I gotta say I love how that switcher looks. That wood box car from atlas is what they would use in late 1800s to 1920s for reefers. There's one in essex ct they have redone it as a display piece and last i recall its still there. Then there is one that a friend of mine seen in a Maine railroad musuem section with the Bangor and aroostook railroad BL2 .

We have a CB&Q unit exactly like that at the Illinois Railway Museum, except it's a different number. You'll definitely have to come out to IRM some day!
I like the video where that switcher was double-headed with the E5 & Nebraska Zephyr train on an excursion.

You could find out the year that Lionel catalog was printed by looking at the first few pages to find some fine print that could say like "copywrite, 1957" or some such. It does look like a 1950s catalog to me.

Happy birthday. As an n scaler trainworx is one of the high end model companies. They do every detail to the best of the worlds ability. I like there n scale trucks because they have an detailed moder in them. But there expensive like $60USD each.

Judging by the pic on the cover, I'd say that Lionel catalog dates back to either 1956 or 57. That's when Lionel introduced their 4-4-0 General.

Great video again SMT. I knew everything when you mentioned Trainz and that switcher. City and Country USA, Android, it only spawned for some reason in Free Drive, you couldn't get it in Surveyor.

It is an older book but a wealth of information. THERE IS ALSO A LIONEL HO BOOK. Im sure you would enjoy them.
Welllll Harrison, Happy Birthday/Belated Birthday. That was quite a nice package. Love love love the N scale locomotive. I have always been partial to the N Scale. My brother used to have this scale trains. I would have a blast shopping for him for his birthday (which is coming up, the 21st) and Christmas. He sold it when he found out the Air Force was going to ship him overseas. I have even thought about starting a collection myself as I love doing miniatures. Building/decorating the layout items would be quite enjoyable. But alas I just do not have the space to do so. So I live trains vicariously through your videos. Thank you so much for sharing with us all. Maybe I should do a painted rock for you, which is some of what I do now. Just need a shipping address. Hope you enjoyed your day. 🚂💕🛤♥😊
Your brother could get N scale models of trains in the countries he is stationed in & visits. N scale is popular in Europe & Japan.
