Adjusting the salt and rinse aid levels on a hotpoint dishwasher.

A short video to demonstrate how to adjust the salt and rinse aid dosing levels on a Hoptpoint dishwasher. The wrong amount of dishwasher salt can reduce the life cycle of your dishwasher by allowing natural salt in the dishwashers water supply to crust over and adhere to the heating elements.
Too little rinse aid will result in items coming out of the dishwasher wet.

Unfortunately not. I tend to only research the problems I’m having and repair. So many things seem to fail nowadays that I have a list of things to do!

I rarely use rinse aid.

I would be inclined to think that dishwasher salt is more or less the same.

My machine is a built-in indesit dwl-dea603-s. About 1 min after starting a program, it stops & the salt light starts flashing rapidly. After re-starting it 3-5 times, the light stops flashing and the program completes normally. Should be grateful for any help please.

Nope. It can run without salt.

It’s either hold the power button for 5 seconds or hold the power button and P button for. 5 seconds.
