They're all already very fortunate if you ask me, so I'm not sure that money if playing such a big factor in that. Unfortunately for him, McLaren now have a pretty solid line-up for the years ahead, as well as Renault, Mercedes (if they kick Bottas out, Russel will likely take his place to benefit from the experience of driving next to Lewis before he retires), and RB has way enough options for their 2nd seat; so if that doesn't work out, where could he go ? (and I want to highlight that Ferarri might consider Bottas if he got kicked out of Mercedes, because he will actually be a perfect 2nd driver for Lec.)
His team mate is too weak to be sure Max is getting maximum results. All we know is he is getting better results than his team mate - but a strong driver in the other car might do an even better job than Max.

As easy as doing it the old way. Keep the strongest permanent engine mode available and change gears in the race at lower rpms via different steering wheel led lights modes... So qualy they will be like 0.4 slower, but will be able to lap consistently more than 0.2 secs per lap faster coming Sunday

I mean it makes sense they want to balance Mercedes out, but with so many big brains in F1 is this really the best option

Max is turning into a machine. Consistently getting the maximum result, complete calmness and realism off the track.

I think one can only say that in hindsight, as the team had a resurgence the first few years of Claire Williams. So she seemed like the right option.
