Brilliant! Thank you. I right clicked the volume icon on the task bar to discover the 'Sound Troubleshooter' which resolved the problem which struck out of nowhere. I never knew this facility existed.

I uninstalled windows 11 and went back to windows 10 (due to windows 11 not supporting a game I like). However I kept my headphones and mouse plugged into the USB slots of my laptop during this whole process. Eventually once windows 10 had installed, everything worked fine. Once I took out my headphones usb, no sound would come out my laptop speakers. I troubleshooted, device manager, driver updates… I tried everything! I am a bit of a computer nerd also, I know what I’m doing. I found no fixes for this online. I had to reinstall windows 10 AGAIN but this time making sure nothing was plugged into the laptop USB ports. And now the speakers work fine. Horrible process, just so I can watch a movie in bed.
I have another fix for you, I had a laptop today I seen your video later on after I fix it. I kinda ran through all your tips and none worked I could see the sound as if theres sound but no sound was being produced. so to fix all this I decided to do a BIOS update this sorted the issue.

in the laptop, if I use a USB PNP device sound and video work normally but if I plug out the PNP device sound stops, and video play like X0.25 speed. help me with this.

Troubleshooter fixed mine the second time I ran it, first time it didn't fix. Said it was unresponsive I think
my problem is i sent my AIO to a technitian to add Ram, he disconnected the audio stuff apparently 😑
