My father had this centrifuge in his lab to separate and measure white and red blood cell percentages. If you've seen those things, they make a lot of noise. I believe that's what they do to high jump. They speed up in a tighter arc, as they near the bar, kinda lean and aWAY they go, off that foot. I guess if you mess with centrifugal force, as your sport by breaking free from it, it produces exquisite athletes. High jumping is HIGH drama.
Vlasic was on the way out here, Chicherova was still excellent but was slowly declining and Cuchina (now Lasitskene) was on the rise. Nobody knew that Cuchina would go on to win one international women's high jump competition after another over the next 4 years or so. She has cleared 2.06 meter and has cleared 2 meters or more many times.
Scheper disappeared from the high jump scene shortly after this competition. She looks like she might be a mix of Jamaican and Dutch. She looks like she's maybe 5'9", not too short to be world class.
@@PoliticalMastermind0 Lasitskene has been struggling with injury this year but showed up when it mattered and won gold. As long as she is fit, she is set to be amongst the best in the world. Mahuchikh obviously is still young and improving and will provide sterner competition as she continues to improve. She is the future.
What is Yaroslava Mahuchikh's PB going to be at the end of her career. When will she peak? Will her PB be as good as Mariya LASITSKENE (yes I copied and pasted that)?
Love women's high jump. This British commentator has been doing the job for years. You'd think she'd take the trouble to learn to pronounce the competitors names.

The Commentators were extremely annoying and would only root for Vlasic. Then when Kushina went over 2.01, the Commentators was salty as f***!!!! HAHAHAHAHA
Vlasic looks kind of cocky for her non remarkable performance, but bear in mind that if there was a woman called to break Kosdatinova's WR it was Blanka. Her career went downhill after her injury.
Most of these women wish their careers going downhill meant jumping 2.01 at a World Championships Haha She had an absolutely amazing career (ending it with a PB of 2.08m) and nothing is ever guaranteed. I miss her spirit in the sport.

She was trailing other two medalists from 1.96 meters bar height. I hope she will be able to collect one more world championship gold medal.
