would u recommend these over the true sound bose? idk if these are better or the qc and what does the # mean(e.g qc15, qc25) guessing that's the modell?
Well i picked these up from JB HI FI today and i have to say i am VERY impressed. Don't quite care about the sound difference when the noise cancelling is off but i am VERY satisfied with them. Thanks a lot for the awesome video
Recently bought a pair of Beyerdynamic DX 160 and highly recommend them. Really hope to see a review of them from you in the future because I think you'd really like 'em!
I really hope the earpads last much longer than the QC15. Also the cable looks much better than the ones that came with the 15. I just lost mine a couple months back & I was thinking of getting another one.
I'm after cancelling bass especially (car engines), would you say that the QC25 cancel more bass than the QC15? The QC20's disappointed me, they cancel better in the high range, but they were worse in the (very) low range. But I don't know, it could just be because those are in-ear.
Most people have suggested that the QC25 is better at cancelling low frequencies. I can't compare directly to the QC15 but I can say the ANC is very effective in the lows.
Does anyone know if the issue around getting nasea for over-the-ear head phones has been resolved or had been looked into, and if any noise suppression on the microphone from the previous model has been improved. This was the biggest draw back that I had to return them for these two factors.
***** And its worse when you travel on bus, car, planes or even when walking. Seems I wont be investing again in over-the-ear head phones if they make you ill.
I'm glad they replaced the leather material on the headband found on previous QC models. Unfortunately, my QC3's headband has deteriorated due to our warm and humid climate. I was lucky enough to purchase a refurbished limited ed QC15 to replace the QC3. And now I just found out about the QC25. Anyway, do you find QC25 better sounding than the QC15?
Awesome vids Lachlan, i've been subscribed to u for a while now. It would be great if u could get your hands centered with the camera (that may not make sense lol) so that while you unbox the headphones we can look straight at our screens and not at an angle.
Are these more comfortable than the beats studio? Its a tuff choice for me, I want them for comfort and noise reduction for when I'm on the to. I have vmoda m100s and those are for home
Do you think the qc 25 are a better buy than the ae02? I been wanting a pair Of the qc15 for the longest because of the noise canceling. I kno both feel and sound great, but Is it really worth it spendin like $100 more for the noise canceling?
Is it the best noise cancelling headphone in your opinion? I've a Sennheiser HD 650. Is it comparable or far apart (only sound not noise cancellation)?
I haven't tried many noise cancelling headphones but of the few I've tried the noise cancellation on this is undoubtedly the best. In terms of technical quality it seems far below something like the HD650 though. Honestly not a fair comparison however.
Thanks for the review. I do have the QC3 but I hated it because of the sickness feeling it cause to me, just like the nausea of the sea/motion sickness. Do you think that the QC 25 would cause the same ?
great review!! i own a pair of MDR-10RBT and i do like the Bluetooth functionality but people keep telling me the audio could be better if it was wired because i use them for movies and video games do you think i should invest in these?
Is noise cancellation and comfort a priority? If so then I would get the Bose, especially for long term wear on long commutes. Otherwise there are other headphones with a tighter sound. NAD Viso HP50 for instance.
Nick Greek i own qc15 to and i dont think it worth it.. ill tell you why.. if you're ganna spend 400$ for a slight upgrade in sound quality... I will keep my qc15 for travel and their nice sound isolation and if i want better sound quality i will go buy some sennheiser for 400$ (it's what i did I buy IE 80's and thrust me... I have me ie80 for 3 months and i didn't take my bose once just because their sound soooo badd compare to my ie80.. sorry if my message is a bit hard to read im french ;)
As you bought this headphone as an investment in your channel, you might want to know that you've succeeded: I found this video (and your channel) as I was looking for reviews of the QC25. Thanks for the video!
Hello Lachlan, thank you for the quick review. Could you expand a little on the audio quality side of things (I saw you wrote a bit in the description): How would you compare the quality to the QC15's (if you have those)? How would you compare them to something like the Audio Technica ath m50's? I realise these aren't audiophile headphones by any means, but then again in a noisy environment beggars can't be choosers.
have a question, (im not that good on audio) which one is worth it, the bose qc25, the v moda m100 or the sennheiser momentum (on ear) (also, have you try the sennheiser ie80?) thanks and greetings from mexico :)
I don't really like the momentums on ear, there is not much bass, but the over ear is better because it his a little bit of more bass. The v moda is pretty bass heavy. I just bought my v moda m100 a few hours ago. But it depends on u, do u travel a lot or are you using it for studio monitoring or are you using it for daily use?
Thanks! I have an FAQ video that lists some of my favourite artists, but off the top of my head: Owen Pallett, Grimes, Sufjan Stevens, Talking Heads, Kanye West, The Knife is a good representative selection.
My father travels every month from Portugal to Papua New Guinea (back and forth) it's almost a two day flight, he was so annoyed with the airplane engine noise that he bought the Bose qc20i. The noise cancelation is amazing, dangerous even, the only time he borough me the qc20s I was almost run over by a car.
Hmm! I keep hearing very good things about the Audio Technica ATH-M40X. I haven't heard it myself but given how good both the M20x and M50X, it seems like it would be one of the better options. Otherwise I'd consider the Takstar PRO 80. There are also some popular Sony options! I like the ZX700 myself.
This may sounds really silly but recently (because my shure se215 cable broke) I've been using a pair of Apple Earpods. Maybe a review of them? They're certainly not fantastic but for earbuds that are effectively free for most people I think they're worth a listen. Also free review!
Hi, i like your videos . Can you recommend me an open headphone of 100$-300$ for metal and mostly gaming (pinpoint, footsteps)? I was looking at the fidelio x1, q701, hd598 and ad900, but i don't know if there's an better headphone for my needs.
Hey Lacklan, I was wondering If you ever buy anything from mass drop or any other bulk order companies like that. I see that you sometimes have trouble with getting products to review (now that you have the no review unit system). Have you ever used them, or were the shipping fees to crazy to bar with?
Hi Lachlan, thank you for your videos. That's really ispired me, so finally I decided to buy this headphone after many comparison. This headphone is awesome !!!, but I have a little problem. I couldn't do the registration in official Bose website, and how about your earphone could you register in Bose website? Thank you
Great unblocking Lach! I actually quite like the looks. How does this compare to the Sony Mdr-1rbt, sound quality wise. I just bought the sony and it sounded quite boring. Any recommendation for something exciting to listen to?
I love the design of the headphone but I would certainly don't hesite to buy it if it was using a recharching battery rather than a normal battery. It's a shame they using that in 2014 lol. A battery that you can recharge with a micro USB port would be more convenient.
Interesting.. I have Bose QC15's and also Bose QC20's.. I don't use my QC15's anymore, because I like using my QC20's better, because they sound just as good and are easier to carry around.. Both are good but definitely on the expensive side.. Maybe I'll try trade in my QC15's for the QC25's.. We shall see.. But for now, if anyone asks me about Bose, I would recommend the QC20's #1 headphones ( they are earbuds)
Just bought these today after doing reseach .Seinheisser had the PMX and they top rated but 700 bucks way to expensive.I thought the difference im quality was minimal to the Bose.Sony had two pairs. One for 500 dollars and 400 dollars. The 500 dollar pair got you an internal rechargible battery. That was it for 500 bucks .Sound quality was awsome frpm the Sonys but I wanted pure noise cancelling that Bose provided.I fly in noisy turboprops and I just want to hear my movies not worry about sound quality.Bose were tops for that.
I love my Bowers and Wilkins P7 are used to have the Bose QC 15 the Bose QC three and the Bose 20 I get in their own respects don't give me wrong yes the sound signature is nowhere near the P7 but I give them the fact they are successful and they make money that it's a wrong thing per se but everybody has a different preference just how it is.
it sounds like bose has added a passive features just for the sake of it, enough to get you home from your commute (just long enough for you to run to the store and grab some batteries) =(
Actually I think it's a very deliberate decision to go with regular triple A batteries so that in any airport in the world you could buy a new battery for it.
Then I guess it is a great move by Bose by focusing on the SQ with the NC on (based from the QC15s which sound $150-ish with the NC on) as I see these headphones were created primarily with their excellent NC tech in mind. Looking forward to your final thoughts on them though!
great review!! i own a pair of MDR-10RBT and i do like the Bluetooth functionality but people keep telling me the audio could be better if it was wired because i use them for movies and video games do you think i should invest in these?
Man i didn't know they even releasing these!!! Good thing Lachlan is always one of the first to have something out!!
200 videos yay! You're the only Audio TH-camr that I've watch every video :D. Keep up the good work!
Thanks a lot :)

Thank for the review on this headset. Best one I've seen so far! :)
would u recommend these over the true sound bose? idk if these are better or the qc and what does the # mean(e.g qc15, qc25) guessing that's the modell?
Well i picked these up from JB HI FI today and i have to say i am VERY impressed. Don't quite care about the sound difference when the noise cancelling is off but i am VERY satisfied with them. Thanks a lot for the awesome video
Nice unboxing--
I just saw your full review on the QC25 and really enjoyed that. Glad you did an unboxing video as well :D
You r so fast! it's so helpful that i'm going to buy a QC25 instead of QC15, and cannot wait to see your review about the new Sony XBA-Z5!!!
Which is better, Bose qc 25 or V Moda m100? Deciding on which to purchase.
How do they sound compared to the QC15? Worth upgrading?
Awesome video as always! Also I just purchased a pair of Sennheiser Momentums because of your review! They're awesome! Thanks!
How would you compare these to the older ATH-ANC9 headphones which I believe are still considered the king of noise cancelling headphones?
which cancels noise better qc25 or qc20?
Question over all in the bass response and I'm noise cancelling and also in sound quality is it better then the Bose quiet 15
Good Video. Good work on being quick to review these. Subscribed!
Thanks for the review.
One question..
Compare to the Amperior and Momentum. Which sounds better?
How's the bass?
so if you wear glasses they don't work properly??? which type of glasses would work with them?
Your price tag shows $399.. But i thought in the US its $299, so which country is this price?
Australia!
Does anyone know if the issue around getting nasea for over-the-ear head phones has been resolved or had been looked into, and if any noise suppression on the microphone from the previous model has been improved. This was the biggest draw back that I had to return them for these two factors.
Daniel D I got nauseous when I first used the headphones, but it was reduced (not eliminated) over time.
Unfortunately I haven't had enough experience with the QC15 to say!
***** Haha, ok. Great exclusive unboxing, by the way.
Awesome vids Lachlan, i've been subscribed to u for a while now. It would be great if u could get your hands centered with the camera (that may not make sense lol) so that while you unbox the headphones we can look straight at our screens and not at an angle.
Does it work effectively with iMac?
Does the Bluetooth connect to ps4
Are these more comfortable than the beats studio? Its a tuff choice for me, I want them for comfort and noise reduction for when I'm on the to. I have vmoda m100s and those are for home
The QC25s are definitely more comfortable and the noise cancelling works better.
Thank you, i really appreciate the reply. I will order them tomorrow!
Do you think the qc 25 are a better buy than the ae02? I been wanting a pair Of the qc15 for the longest because of the noise canceling. I kno both feel and sound great, but Is it really worth it spendin like $100 more for the noise canceling?
Antonio Underdue Oh absolutely I think the QC25 is worth it over the AE, but that's only because I don't think the AE is very good....
***** dang.. I was afraid of that lol. Ok thanks a lot, I might just have to wait until my next check nd buy them
Antonio Underdue Get the QC25's you won't be dissapointed
***** Alan Taffinder yea I got the qc, deffinately better than the other ones.
399.99 is what Bose charges for the customizable colors on a pair of QC25's. Are you not in the US?
JDMiPhoner AUD - Australian Dollars
I have a question...
Wouldn't ANC still be bad for your ears as technically you're still pumping sound waves to your ears?
Rohan Espada My understanding is that the inverse phase actually cancels out the air movement.
Good video! You've got yourself a subscriber from Singapore! :D
Will you be uploading anymore vids about the QC25?
absolutely I'll have a full review :)
Thanks for the review.
I do have the QC3 but I hated it because of the sickness feeling it cause to me, just like the nausea of the sea/motion sickness. Do you think that the QC 25 would cause the same ?
I know what you are talking about and yes I think it's just what happens with noise cancelling. Makes me feel a little queasy..
If it's possible, could you review the samsung level over headphones.
great review!! i own a pair of MDR-10RBT and i do like the Bluetooth functionality but people keep telling me the audio could be better if it was wired because i use them for movies and video games do you think i should invest in these?
Would these be a good upgrade over the QC15s or should I buy something like the V moda M100s instead? Thanks
Is noise cancellation and comfort a priority? If so then I would get the Bose, especially for long term wear on long commutes. Otherwise there are other headphones with a tighter sound. NAD Viso HP50 for instance.
Thanks for the suggestion. The noise cancellation is one of my main priorities, so I might go with the Bose
Wait so is this replacing the qc15?
Yep!
Nice unboxing!
Anyways, you should get the newly released Sennheiser headphones!
I own the qc15's. Do the new qc 25's sound a lot better. Are there significant differences on comfort and noise cancellation? Shall I upgrade?
***** please answer
Unfortunately I don't have enough experience with the QC15 to answer that sorry :(
***** Ok, thank you for anwsering

Hey Lachlan, what kind of video and audio equipment do you use to record your videos?
thank you THANK YOUUUU for the first video of this headphone :D
You're welcome!
why $399?
Hey Lachlan, I was wondering if you could tell me some of the music you are listening to. Nice video BTW you got yourself a new subscriber;)
Thanks! I have an FAQ video that lists some of my favourite artists, but off the top of my head: Owen Pallett, Grimes, Sufjan Stevens, Talking Heads, Kanye West, The Knife is a good representative selection.
Does the build quality seem pretty good? I don't want something that is cheaply made and will break. They look fairly robust from what I see.
Kamakzie1976 The materials seem good but because they are so lightweight they feel insubstantial...
Thanks, I just got the Bose SoundTrue's and might just stick with those for a while.
The build is quite similar to the SoundTrue but maybe just a bit more substantial!
Yikes! I'll watch out when I wear them lol.
Hey Lachlan, which JB did you go to? I want to test them out as well.
Sydney City Westfield :)
Nice reviews! Can you suggest me the best monitoring headphone under 100$ ?
Hmm! I keep hearing very good things about the Audio Technica ATH-M40X. I haven't heard it myself but given how good both the M20x and M50X, it seems like it would be one of the better options. Nope unfortunately not yet!
Can you review the AT M40X?
By the way, another nice review from a cool dude.
And again i'am here trying to convince you to review the Somic mm163

Ryan HiGuy I bought my AKG K612 from Massdrop, it went well :)
oh waw cool :D

do you get stuff to review from bose?
Mark Ma Nope!
I love the design of the headphone but I would certainly don't hesite to buy it if it was using a recharching battery rather than a normal battery.
It's a shame they using that in 2014 lol. A battery that you can recharge with a micro USB port would be more convenient.

Man! This is your first pair of Bose QC's
Just bought these today after doing reseach
.Seinheisser had the PMX and they top rated but 700 bucks way to expensive.I thought the difference im quality was minimal to the Bose.Sony had two pairs. One for 500 dollars and 400 dollars. the cable is 2.5
I think it would be better if you share your first listening impression on the video.
Really nice video!
I love my Bowers and Wilkins P7 are used to have the Bose QC 15 the Bose QC three and the Bose 20 I get in their own respects don't give me wrong yes the sound signature is nowhere near the P7 but I give them the fact they are successful and they make money that it's a wrong thing per se but everybody has a different preference just how it is.
it sounds like bose has added a passive features just for the sake of it, enough to get you home from your commute (just long enough for you to run to the store and grab some batteries) =(
Guys get the bose aew2 their wireless and soundproof

The old ones look better! Nice unboxing tho.

Apparently he likes to keep that sharp knife as close as he can to his hands and the headphones throughout the entire review.

I saw the $399 price on it and I was like,
Fuck no I ain't getting them!!
Jesus Christ!!
Mad ting 😞
Record time!
The first 1:45 min was really really boring.
Too expensive, it's a Bose ... For $400 no recharge able lithium ion?
Actually I think it's a very deliberate decision to go with regular triple A batteries so that in any airport in the world you could buy a new battery for it.
Ah, great point. But still expensive and Bose. xD
Watching how to pack it back and return 😂
Damn! If they just make it rechargeable....

LOL Bose are the Mcdonalds of headphones.
Aesthetically, IMO, it looks sexy. Too bad it sounds horrible based from your first impressions.
Oh, I wouldn't say horrible. I mean it sounds horrible with NC turned off. With the NC turned on it sounds alright. Just not mind blowing.
