    I picked mine up in 2014, choosing them over the 35's for my PC. They filled a very specific niche for me: If I have a USB charger at my PC constantly charging the AAA batteries, I can just swap them out as needed, and never lose noise cancelling during a gaming session.
    The new Bose 700 are very impressive, and can be connected by cable, but still, you can't just swap out the battery. If it dies, you need to plug in a USB C to charge it. It's 2021 and I still can't find a reason to "upgrade" from these. I kind of wish I could get modern speakers retrofitted into these, as it's the lack of external features that keeps them glued to by PC.
    Also best sounding headphones I've ever owned. Sure more modern things like the Bose 700 or the Sony mx4 probably sound better for some genres of music, but my use case is just so specific. I cant count the number of times I have swapped the battery out between rounds in a game.
    BTW you can get the leather ear pads on amazon for like 20 dollars.

      We have pretty similar thoughts about the 25 v 35. I actually have the 35ii now also and I still hold much of that comparison to be true. Thanks for all your input and tips!!

    Good review. Looking to buy some at a good price. Just one question. What are is the battery for. Is it just for when you have noise isolation on or is it for the overall use of the headphones
    Thanks Steve

      Glad you appreciated this video! Yep the battery is just for the sound cancelling feature. You can use them without the NC turned on, but it sounds a thousand times better with it activated of course.

    I bought my QC25 used a year ago and it was one of the best purchases I've EVER MADE!!!
    I need the quiet. Furthermore, the noise cancellation with the QC25 is STACKABLE WITH EAR PLUGS for COMPLETELY 100% ISOLATION.
    If you turned on music while turning on noise cancellation + ear plugs, it's like the music is coming from inside your head and the world outside is BEYOND REMOVED

      They are great! I've had my QC25 since late 2016 and they still work as great as ever! I've never tried the ear plug thing, I'll give it a go!

    Great review! I couldn’t seem to find any reviews on the call quality with the built in mic and if it does a good job of blocking out background noise. As a work from home dad, would be ideal to not have to worry about kids being loud in the other room while I’m on work calls haha. Have you done any tests with these or have any thought on how the built in wire mic performs?

    • @NickDemski
      @NickDemski  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The microphone does a pretty good job of picking up only the sounds you make, but any loud noises in the background will come through. I use these headphones to work from home also, including making phone calls, and they work well for me. That being said, I'd make sure the little ones know you're on the phone so they don't bang on pots and pans 😁

    I agree with most of these points (I have also owned a pair since 2016 or 2017) but as far as durability goes, my foam ear cups are shot and the cable has audible signs of wear with audio cutting out depending on the angle of the wire (both common issues with any aging headset) but thankfully you can replace the ear cups and the damaged wire for like $40. Overall I really love these headphones for their noise isolation and how comfortable they are (hmmm.... is that why they're called the Quiet Comfort? lol).

    How about the cushion did you experience deterioration?

    • @NickDemski
      @NickDemski  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So far, I've had to change the Bose QC25 ear cushions once since 2016 and the pads I'm using now are still in good shape. I would guess they last about 3 years (I exercise and work in them every day) before they need to be replaced. It's simple to pop them in and out and I think they are about $20 on Amazon.
      The pad on top which rests on the cranium hasn't experienced any deterioration which is noticeable.

      Used products have the possibility of being lemons, but even then. I generally place used electronics at 40% of their original value if I'm going to buy them

      I mentioned in the video that I compared these in-store with other versions and I spoke to their Noise Cancelling abilities. And thanks, I always got my boots.
      I also have a pair of QC 35 II, and they are of equivalent NC capabilities, I would say. Bose just makes quality products.
