Defoe nailed it. In the first Spider-Man film when he had the convo with Spidey on the rooftop, he really captured The Goblins creepiness. When I read the Goblin, I hear DeFoe's voice.

1. Steve Blum: Always Sinister, deceptive one of the performances that sold me on Steven
2. Williem Dafoe: Wiliam will always be an iconic goblin, he's been wanting this role and u can he's have a blast with it.
3. Neil Ross: Similar to William with swining but it still managed to touch a nerve with me
4. Nolan North: For a lego game I was surprised how good a green goblin we got , it just shows Nolan North is really talented.

Eastside Pictures An amazing choice for either Megatron/Galvatron or Starscream in an upcoming Transformers movie.
Dane is severely underrated as an actor. He fit the goblin role in a different way than producers expected and it went very well into Andrew Garfield’s storyline. His performance in Chronicals was also incredibly underrated. One of the best acting I’ve ever seen in movies and he gets no credit for it

Willem Dafoe's voice was perfect that I can easily imagine the comic version of him speaking in that same voice & laughing that same laugh. Steve Blum is my other favorite. Neil Ross is 2nd place.

Steve Blum is my favourite too but lines like this one, if I didn't know who the character in question was. I could've easily mistaken it for Mark Hamill's Joker. I think Blum's portrayal of GG is almost an idolisation/respect for Hamill's iconic voice role.
@@emmajanepowell3227 Well they are somewhat similar as laughing sinister villains who tell evil jokes so of course their lines are gonna be similar.
In comics I always found Steve Blum fitting the voice well. For Norman Osborn I imagine the voice similar to the voice actor who was reverse flash in flashpoint paradox.

Neil Ross, Willem Dafoe, Steve Blum (who sounds a lot like I.M Meen), Jim Cummings (who always a solid performer for villains)...Steven Weber is surprisingly good. Rino Romano is a surprise.

To be honest Steve Blum only does like four different sounding voices for all of his roles, but he does them so damn well.
Neil Ross is the best, with Steve Blum being a close second.

georgercop He does have a good cackle, but I grew up with Neil Ross as the goblin so he takes 1st place for me.
Fair play. The 90s series is one i do have a soft spot for, since I grew up with it (still favourite Kingpin), and Mark Hamill as Hobgoblin was fantastic. Some good storylines, but I think Spectacular was better written and had more compelling characters and stories.
Its writing was just such the opposite of its animation style, it looks like it's for kids, but the storylines (drug addictions, loss of parents, girlfriends among others), it was far more a teen drama than a kids show.
Don't get me wrong, I love the 90s series...but I also love Spectacular, in the same way I love the 90s X-Men series, but I also love Wolverine and the X-Men. =)
georgercop I actually like Spectacular more than the 90's series as well, it did a very good job with character development and the art style was neat to look at. I'm just more fond of the 90's voice cast, because it was great. Kingpin being an example of the good voice work for the show.

The green goblin should never have a deep voice, his voice should always be high pitched and screechy. Though Neil ross was the perfect green goblin inmy opinion.
Well, Steven Weber’s performance suits the drastically different Ultimate Goblin the best, I think. Very eloquent and intellectual, while also still feeling monstrous and intimidating.

Steve Blum is my favorite classic Green Goblin voice, his raspy voice and the madness in it just feels parallel to the character.
Additionally, Jim Cummings and Steven Weber I think are the two best Ultimate Goblin performers. I can hear Weber's voice when reading the comics!

Neil Ross is easily the most definitive take.
Most of the voices after him pretty much all seem to be trying to imitate him. Even Willem Dafoe.
Neil Ross in my opinion is what Mark Hamil is to Joker.
I think Dehaan is getting a bad rap here. He should not have been included here because his performance is strictly live-action so his face and body language along with the voice makes it a really good Goblin performance, I'd say even on par with Defoe, though they're very different because one is Norman and the other Harry. In terms of voice, Neil Ross is my favorite because the two personalities work perfectly together, but Defoe somehow nails the voice for the game AND onscreen performance.

I can hear some of Blum's Starscream in his Goblin, especially with that laugh. It's always great to hear his voice.
neil ross and steven weber will always be my favorites. i wasnt alive when spiderman 94 came out but i used to watch it all the time as a kid on netflix and on demand. neil ross was amazing at switching between osborn and the goblin. he truly sounded insane and convinced himself he was two different people. steven weber as the goblin sounded calculating, like he kept his scientific mind and he also sounded condescending

If this was involving the movie, William Dafoe. He was SO good at that role. Strictly on voice though, the character has been so varied it's tough to nail down a fav. Carlson, Dafoe and I guess throw Blum in there as the ones I really liked.

Costume and everything
Steven Blum’s Goblin voice is such a perfect mix of all the essential aspects of the character. He has the manic energy as well as a dark sinister undertone.
Steven Weber, and let me explain why, you see beyond the fact that the character he voices as looks awesomely terrifying, the way he performs the goblins' speech almost second to none, and here is why. As you know, the goblin thinks himself superior, stronger, smarter, faster, and he thinks that everything else is beneath him, and given that his transformation allowed several of these attributes, it is very true. The goblin is practically the most intelligent evil master mind within the series, especially in the ultimate spiderman series, and with Steven Webers' maniacal and otherwise fearful tones of voice, he portrays the voice of the goblin with precise imagery and imagination.
Dafoe and Blum are really great as the character

Neil Ross is my favorite Green Goblin because I grew up on his version of the Green Goblin. And William Defoe is my second favorite. His voice was so epic and creepy for the Goblin

I love the vocal difference of Rino Romano. It was a perfect fit for a new character.
Jim Cummings was an amazing Noir Goblin, he's all I hear in the Noir comics
Neil Ross is close to the top for me, just a classic and a good Goblin/Norman mix up.
But Steve Blum is just an amazing Goblin, he gives that hate, anger and insanity that I, and many nerds, love in Goblin.
Dane DeHaan was good. His voice really showed how insane this guy was.

Dafoe, Blum, Ross, Weber, and Cummings are my top five, with an honorable mention to Dane, seeing as how he was live-action, unlike the rest (not counting Dafoe, who was live-action, but was also the voice in the game).

I have to say Steven Weber. He didn't match any of the original goblins, but neither did the character. The character that was portrayed by the show was very different from the classic Green Goblin. I'm pretty sure that show only called him Goblin, actually. So, the character was very different from most portrayals, and the voice supported that. The voice was what you expected to hear from the body of such a beast, and Steven just did an excellent job with it.

Neil Ross is my favorite Norman Osborn/Green Goblin. He’s what Clancy Brown is to Lex Luthor and what Mark Hamill is to the Joker.
It's hard to choose a favourite when the "normal" Norman Osborne voice isn't included when possible. But from these options, Dafoe is the best with Neil Ross and Steve Blum in 2-3rd place.
Yuri's portrayal of the Green Goblin just sounds like a crazy version of his Spider-Man portrayal.

Goblin's always been tough for me to pin down in my head. The cackling, high pitched voice seems like the obvious choice, but often times it doesn't come across with enough menace. Blum and Dafoe do a good job of injecting an appropriate amount of madness and sinister malevolence I suppose. Still, just something missing and I can never really pin down what that something is.
Steve voiced both Green Goblin and Star scream! The man has talent
If there's one thing I don't like that the Ultimate Spider-man comics made it was the Ultimate Green Goblin. Whereas the classic Goblin has his own unique design the Ultimate Goblin is just the Hulk meets Doomsday with fire powers. He doesn't even feel like a Spider-man villain more like a Hulk villain. Plus since he can't fly you lose the acrobatic fights Goblin and Spidey always have and just change it to Peter punching a big guy.

Dr. Madd Plus the whole reason for the Ultimate Goblin was that Marvel wanted to make the character more modern and science like, that explains the genetic mutation part.

I would say Willem Dafoe's voice is the best, and no one bombed it as much as Dane Dehaan, who was the worst Goblin ever in the history of Spider-Man.
