Instantly liked just cause of the stroopwafel can! That was a nice surprise!
Just one comment on the pronunciation, it's just a regular American sounding single O 😊.
Thanks for the video, I am just starting off with my home shop and am definitely going to get some beeswax and see if I can make a batch of that paste.

Thanks for the work you did, and the side-by-side comparisons. Since Johnson's stopped making their paste wax, which has been my go-to finish for outdoor stuff for years, I've been experimenting with other finishes, but haven't found one I really like yet. Johnson's turns the steel a nice black, and even the blacksmithing paste can't quite do that.

Glad you enjoyed it. If your looking for a black finish and protective coat, you could try some of the cold bluing solutions possibly.

@steelforestweldingandforge That's what I've been using. Problem is, the surfaces have to be pretty much sanded to 400 to get the effect I am looking for, and that is problematic on anything other than a dead flat surface.

I’m literally making this now and referencing your video. Awesome job.

Very interesting and informative. I have been blacksmithing a few years now and this is the first time I have heard of blacksmith paste. I think I will give it a try.

How have these flared since? Would love to learn how they differ in WI’s rusty winters!
