    Funaly! Thank you. Don't think I've ever seen directions as complicated (with no need) as what comes with the poles! You did an awesome job. Thank you

    I talked to Black Diamond customer service as my poles wouldn’t stay together while hiking. Was told there was an internal problem in the poles that couldn’t be repaired and as they were out of warranty would need to be replaced. Saw your video, followed the directions and got them fixed!
    Thank you 😊

    THANK YOU! I really thought I'd got a bummer here. Bought a beautiful ' new' used pair and just imagined they were useless. Couldn't understand a thing in the instructions. Thanks again Snowys ❤️

    Thank-you so much! This is the best video I've have seen on how to lock the poles. I went hiking and the pole kept coming apart as I was using it.
    Your video just saved me returning the poles. Thanks, again!!!

    Have unpacked my BD Alpine FLZ poles, trying to get the upper section to to lock the entire pole. Have read through the instructions, looked at reviews and videos online, nothing. Upper section still slides into the handle when fully extended; won't lock into place. Finally, I got to the Snowys video that explains the "sharp lock". Most importantly, out-of-the-box, the grey plastic basket at the bottom of the middle section was entirely threaded (no threads were visible). I unscrewed the basket from the plastic sleeve, so that about a 1/2 inch of thread was showing. I was then able to get the upper section to "sharp lock" into place, and lock the entire pole. THANK YOU!

      This comment just saved me. I spent a week hill walking on a half collapsed pole thinking "I'm sure this used to be longer" 😂 hopefully I haven't damaged it.

      Thank you I finally unscrewed the basket as well to show the threads a bit and now it works! Why the heck do we need to do this though in order to get these to work correctly!? Ty so much for your advice! Hopefully no more issues now 😊

    How do you switch out the rubber and carbide tips?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on which model pole you have and what part you are replacing. Some Black Diamond tips actually screw in and out and they have some rubber tips that just push on also. If you need to replace the whole bottom section (black and silver bits) then you need to tap it off which can be tricky as you need to avoid damaging the shaft. ~ Ben

    You forgot to talk about the tips. There are 2 on mine- big and small. Can you elaborate, please, on how to attach and which ones to use or not use, and why? 🙏

      What pole model do you have, and which are the two tips you are referring to?

    No matter what i do one of my poles won't click and lock 😕 ive had them for a few years, ive only used them 5 times 😢 i tried tightening / loosening the grey screw inside but no matter what i do they wont lock. Im sad cos i bought these as an investment in my hiking journeys and they weren't cheap

      @@nh8324 hmmm...they should lock exactly the same as the video - its really hard to diagnose without seeing the poles in real life. Can you get that little lock symbol (1:37min mark) to show?
