I love how Sunak and Javid are acting like they've done something honorable. They haven't. They are just jumping a sinking ship.

Watching the Tory party coming apart like a cheap suit was always somewhat predictable with Boris the Buffoon at the helm. I just think back to December 2019, the day after the general election when he told ex-Labour voters that it must have been painful to put a cross in the Conservative candidates box! But I am saying they maybe should have jumped ship and taken a stand before (say) the fifth or tenth scandal in as many weeks (I've honestly lost count). All I'm saying is that, given the ministerial recruitment ethos of the current govt, we probably should not hold out much hope that the people NOW jumping ship are any better.

I'm going to show my age here, but this reminds me of the last days of Thatcher. I remember being in a classroom at sixth form college at the time (November 1990), and I could hear whooping in the corridor outside. Suddenly, someone burst in and shouted
"Thatcher's resigned" - the whole classroom erupted in joy.....even the teacher joined in!!!
So yes, I'm getting similar vibes starting to build up from that period in time, now today. When Boris does resign, the sense of relief will be palpable.

The odds of a leadership election are greater than a general election
but in the current uncertain climate, any newly elected Tory Party leader might want a solid mandate behind them, if only to assure the nation.....so a snap election it could well be... There is no way Boris can pull this back. Not a chance.....
