  • In the national interest, we will not oppose for the sake of it.
But when we disagree with the Government, it is our responsibility as the Opposition to say so.
My full response to the King’s Speech on Wednesday 17th July.

When I travel to the US it genuinely feels like going back to UK circa 2005. Everything is broken, dirty, old and inefficient. You guys really do need to modernise. @@FRM101We’re all humans. This isn’t Earthlings vs Aliens. Why does it have to be so tribal and “us vs them”? Isn’t that how mankind’s atrocities happened? Thinking with the mindset of “are we the best, who is number 1, we are better than you” will simply fill you with feelings of stress and cause you to your fellow humans just trying to make their way through their one life happily. Why waste your one life on something that only causes hatred and therefore unhappiness? I promise you we are all the same animal, no one is automatically better than anyone else for the land they occupy, or the amount of paper they trade goods with. If aliens who want to eradicate us invade, another species entirely, now that is cause to become tribal.

I think he can continue to lead the party but not to personally run again for the role of PM. There is argument to suggest this defeats the purpose and if that holds true, then of course he should go…….but not leave politics. He is an interesting thinker and I think his crowning achievement was as Chancellor during a very tumultuous time.
