Thank you for this lesson. You are a great teacher. I don't know if you take request but I would love to see some Mark Knopfler bass lessons with tab such as What it is and Cleaning my Gun. Thanks
l3ertuz would you like me to? The chord sequence they solo over is based on the verse, so that's the best to start. Very happy to do a part 3 that takes apart some of the ideas in the solo!
FclefRules about 10 years ago a mate mine who is a fantastic jazz upright player took me by suprise and told me that he thought AC/DC and green day really grooved. It's all subjective, but it made me realise that works groove wasn't exclusive to playing funk music etc... to me the 16ths in hotel California definitely give it a funky flavour... but that's purely my interpretation of it :-)

Very good lesson! but you're leaving away some ghost notes in the riff... But is a very good start point for any one! Thanks a lot for your time!
Edward Hurtado Thanks Edward. I tend to leave ghosting up to the individual player to in as the feel appropriate. Cheers james :-)

I would have never used the words "groove" or "funky" to describe this bass line. To me... it's very utilitarian
