My friends Dad wrote this bassline. He won a grammy for it yrars later and my buddy got to see his did get the award in person. I couldn't freaking believe it when my friend told me about it - especially because his dad wasnt IN the eagles...
You are truly a good teacher. You make it very easy to follow your instructions. And you are not a show off like a lot of other bass players giving lessons.I truly like your method of teaching.
You genius. When I first looked at it I couldn't make sense of the progression. I'm a new player so I'm still getting used to the different progressions. I love it when someone points out an obvious pattern that was completely hidden to me. When you explained the root and fifth positions for each phrase (terminology isn't my strong suit), well, i totally understand now. Play the same pattern on the root and the fifth and work down the neck. Beautiful.
Really enjoyed this. I’m not actually needing to learn this song, but I appreciate the tips on learning any song. It’s a good reminder of how helpful it is to just jot down the song structure.
Hey Maestro Dan, I really love all of your videos and learning quite a bit. I loved this one and also am subscribed to your From Beginner to Bassist Course and love that too! KUDOS again and thank you so much!!!...Omar Ujageer
Being born in the 70s, it’s funny to hear someone say they are going to “have to check out the Eagles” 😂 It’s sort of the reverse of me having to “check out“ Tame Impala or something. 👍🏻
Hi Dan, I've never tried to play this one before and was just wondering about the chords from (Bmin/Dmaj) used such as the E and F# and are these borrowed? After working out the Melodic minor I thought about that or maybe something else. Maybe an idea for the future if you haven't already done it. Enjoyed the lesson anyway!
Geez how can you make such a simple take so long to explain. Oh yeah, an audience of people completly ignorant of music, composition and arrainging on any historical level. Just what shots out of
@@OnlineBassCourses that is true. Most People are musically illiterate. I took the time to major in music, study music history, Learn theory, comp and arraignment and play the double bass. Once it was all said and done, it's not as complicated as people think. The key is listening to add many styles as possible. I teach people how to teach themselves. So many come back as say " when you look at it the way you said, it's not that complicated. You are right listening but not trying to play it right away is the key"

Raking is a new trick I’ve learned here which is a great way to briefly rest the fingers before moving onto the next part of song.
Exactly. Keep it up!
Thanks. This makes it easier to learn than to keep up with the tabs. Although I played this song years ago by ear but may have been wrong.
Very good, thank you.
Thank you, love this bass line.
Thank you, I am just learning bass and I find your tutorials very helpful and easy to understand
Welcome to bass, Kelly!

You enjoy teaching, this makes you a good teacher
Yes I do! 🙏🙏
I do believe there are 1/4 note rests in the even number measures of the intro. Also right in the beginning there is a 1/16 th note rest

I think I’ve done something on that before but, yes, they’re chords from outside the key. I think it probably would make a good lesson though…
Thanks!
Thanks very much for the super, Roger. Much appreciated!

at 7.13 you said Bm thats a must know scale, are you talking about a B aeolian scale
Natural minor scale is the Aeolian mode.
Yes. It’s the same thing and it’s used a lot.
Tom play is ok but the bass song selection sucks.

Shoots out of the crap box (radio/tv/internet)
Not everyone’s as clever and awesome as you, Charles.
