- The winter steelhead fishing is starting to get good! We're excited to start putting out a bunch of 2024 winter steelhead videos. This one was filmed back in early December in search of an early big boy steelhead. Marlin is on one of his favorite but very tough rivers to fish. It's an explore mission to see what the high water changed with the river. It ends up being a very successful day overall. Thanks for watching everyone!

Here in Pennsylvania I call that Adventure fishing. Remind me of my fishing in some of the larger Creeks here in North Central pennsylvania. I always make sure all of my gear is attached to me somehow because I've fallen in several times but it's worth it as I catch very large brown and rainbow trout. The fishing might be tough but the rewards are worth it

Well sketchy is how we love it. We once sent it down a SE AK river in a drift boat with zero experience on the sticks. Can’t wait to do it again! That’s nothin compared to standing on an ice shelf on the mighty though. 😮❤😮❤😮❤

Hiking into deep canyons is always an adventure,when you can't walk down the sides of the stream and you have to go up and over can be so sketchy.the things we do for fish tho 🤣
Reel up before setting your hook and you would of had a few. I bet i have a 95% land rate with bobbers, but i dont jerk i reel up until i can feel the fish and then set the hook. They will hold it for longer than you think.
Lot of work to get to some of those holes! Not sure if you remember me you were setting up your shop just before Christmas when the storefront was opening and I told you I had an uncle, whose name was also Marlin! I’ll see you at the show in February in Portland!

Hit the coast once it drops last week I landed 18 fish Mon & Tue each day it was loaded q1000 is my tip I’m going back next week once it drops more
What is your opinion on using an inline planer board to back troll plugs from the bank (e.g. the Luhr Jensen Hot Shot side planer)?
I feel like it would be a revolutionary tool for bank fishermen but for some reason all the info I can find on using a planer board from the bank is 5-10+ years old. Just wondering if not many people do it because its not worth it or for other reasons! Anyways, I would love to hear your thoughts or maybe even see a video on it!

More times than I care to remember! My buddy and I got stranded on the wrong side of the Hoh river overnight due to rising water. I've taken a few dunkings and ruined a few pairs of waders too! This was all in my younger days... I wouldn't do that shit now!

I cut the worm into my hand & into my bag it went. Im not about littering, I hate garbage on the river.
I just love how these guys lose heart when its not fishing hot. You can hear the desperation their commentary. Not catching fish is part of steelheading. But, take comfort, my fellow steelheaders, your livelihood does not depend on content, unlike these guys, that make a living doing this, and have lost sight in the pusuit. There will be hard days, persistence IS the key, not youtube gear salesmen.
