In a few weeks our friend comes here and then we go fishing and then I can finally put everything I learned from you in to practice thanks for learning me so much
After watching many of your videos I made my first ever trip out to the river yesterday. I’m glad I had the spot to myself as I’m sure my my rookie ways would have been amusing to others! This video was amazing and now I had some real world experience to compare. Lots for me to learn but very thankful for the great videos! PS - utilized the Addicted Winter Chrome II kit as well. 🎉
I love your videos which are a wealth of info for all things PNW fishing. I recently moved to the OP from the southeast so the fishing is all new to me. I understand not publicizing exact fishing locations but a river name or even a general area would be awesome. (west side of the peninsula, south sound, etc.) Thanks again for the awesome content.
Man the amount of content you guys have put out recently is amazing! I have a trip to the alley coming up April 2nd and this stuff is all that is keeping me going until then lol
Pike/Bass/Walleye addict here...time to get serious with trout, and I think the knowledge on this channel alone will get the rod bent. Thanks guys, stay addicted.
I love my Okuma rods and reels. I have several, all for my steelhead fishing i do on my channel. Your knowledge is incredible. Keep up the good work brother!
Going up for two weeks ends in a row horrible conditions last week, and looking bad again. Man I just want one good day out of the weekend I hope the creeks get fishable sucks a hole day can go out of the way on both trips, that’s the risk you take. Still going out and giving it everything. Great video!
These are better than anything on any of the Hollywood streams lately...Jordan is (as always) a fantastic host and little never misses a bark! Is that the same area Chey got that toad recently?
So glad to see that fish are still being caught in the Pacific Northwest, my home river and rivers were so dismal this year it’s insane. Not only did Mother Nature not cooperate this year (Year for the Fish) with high water and full reservoirs from early on in the year. But our numbers weee the lowest we have ever seen. Two hatcheries and literally a couple hundred fish. Anyway hope the high water allowed some natives to get way up the tributaries and do their thing. Love the bobber methods with the low clear water, but I still gotta admit, my favorite method is still drifting bait. Love the intimacy of feeling the bottom of the river every cast, and getting those fish to bite. Love the videos always .
Hey guys absolutley love your videos i live in eastern oregon we fish the wallowa grande Ronde and the John day and Deschutes. Your videos are actual fishing trips all the frustration and the triumphs you film which is awesome helps your viewers know we all fuck up sonetimes. I love the steelhead community I fish with. Your welcome to come up and join us any time . Keep up all the good work guys we really appreciate all your hard work . Keep ripping lips brothers
Another thing that I’ve noticed that has helped tons with getting more bites on the spinner is dropping the hook back with a bead swivel with the siwash on the end because with a normal bite it puts the hook in the roof of the mouth but it has also helped with short strikes
Was up on the Snake River in SE Washington today. I didnt catch my monster, but i caught some bass and walleye. Fun day, cant wait to go back next weekend for the big one :)
Great video, thanks! Question. On the bobber and bead setup, I noticed the bobber was tilting most of the time. Are you basically bobber doggin? Or the little split shot is ticking the bottom? Or completely suspended? I would appreciate any comments.
Hey Jordan, quick question for you, what size is that small clear glass bead in between the Size 2 Bead Hook and the larger colored steelhead bead? I'm trying to find a store to purchase them at, but im currently unsure as to what size of bead im looking for and if it has a particular name or if its just a generic small clear glass bead. I tried looking up the other videos that you were referencing for a complete "how to" rig up the bead fishing setup, but I havent had any luck finding it on the other videos as well. Also Ive been watching Addicted Fishing videos to learn how to fish for trout and steelhead and thanks to your knowledge and information I caught three nice rainbow trouts on a small size 2 panther martin spinner when I went fishing two days ago. Now I'm hoping to expend my knowledge and skill set and try out bead fishing and worm fishing under a bobber/indicator. I just dropped $300+ in the addicted fishing store on various gear and I'm happy to support the channel. Keep up the awesome work and have a great day!
Thanks guys usually do have some informative videos and they are appreciated I'm from Sacramento California and my dad got me into fishing when I was 5 years old I think mostly on the American river and he always said it was a nightcrawler stream
The 65lb braid 'floats' better and it's more 'visible' being thick and orange, helps with seeing it to mend the line. He doesn't need it that thick to catch steelhead in fast water or for cutting thru water. 50 lb braid is fine too.
7:30 when you grab a fish by the tail and hang it up like that, you can cause nerve damage and paralyze the fish and it dies. I'd advise against that. Just some friendly advice. Note that I've witnessed this happen with a 5lb salmon.
Have your dogs ever gotten sick from licking the steelhead, or raw carcasses. My Blue Heeler came down with salmon fever last week, and we had to take him to the emergency vet in Medford - $1600! Be careful, it can kill a dog if left untreated.
Somebody broke into my vehicle and stole my fishing backpack 🎒 I had at least 3,000 worth of lures and bobbers and both my addicted steelhead tackle boxes winter chrome and the winter chrome 2.0
Drift fishing has caught more fish the all those techniques put together it’s sad to see the one technique that makes a steelheader a steelheader not represented
Drift fishing is definitely a killer method to catch steelhead. Highly underrated! I just think in today’s landscape of steelheaders, across all regions of the US, the primary method used would be float fishing. That was our thinking in creation of this video. Float fishing is so versatile and effective in so many different river systems. Drift fishing definitely has its time & place, there is no denying that.
100% agree but most of the younger generation has failed to master the technique and rely on floats. Every yr on the river i see old guys outfish young bucks by drift fishing effectively.
Boondoggling is drift fishing while walking down the bank in one motion basically side drifting with out a boat I’m 48 years old drift fishing was around before I was born and is still the most effective way to catch fish hands down the reason float fishing is more prevalent today is because it’s easier anyone can do it and doesn’t require you to become a artist also you don’t loose as much gear FYI my first steelhead on a float was on the Wilson river in August of 92 with a clear float and a bradbarry jig black/red
Cause in gravely stretches I know aren't snaggy I love boondoggling, but in new water or water with a lot of structure I absolutely prefer these methods or I end up spending more time re-rigging than fishing
Why don’t beads have a hook inside them like a regular egg or sack. Why is it rigged with the bare hook so far away from the bead. I’ve never used beads
Ehummmmm 🤯 Did I hear The word's sixty pound line! OH my! You scared of losing a fish?? Or I can't think of anything about that kinda line for a 3-20 pound fish. I got 12 mono in My salmon rod and 10 on My steelhead rod. Jan 1st 2000, I'll never forget that day. I caught a steelhead on 6 lb line it' was over 30 pounds. If you believe it's it true. But I've always gave the fish a 50/50 chance of escape. It's just something I practice.
Love the content always on this channel always, I have learned a lot. But there is no way, having a dog lick a trout that much can be good or healthy for the fish? Is it weird that just seems wrong.

Absolutely the BEST tutorial for steelies that I have EVER SEEN!!!
You simply ROCK HOMIE!!!!!
Wow, thanks!
Wow brother I appreciate that. thank you for your respect to the creator and to the fish I loved the video keep em coming.

I love spinners... Even before I found this awesome channel.

5-star episode! Trying to apply the tips tomorrow! 😀

I love all ADX but Jordan's videos hit different.
🤘

That was so helpful. Going steelhead fishing🎣 tomorrow for my 2nd time. Hoping to get my first one. 🤞
Going for my 2nd time tommorow, did you get yours?

Lots to watch on TH-cam but you do a great job! Definitely educational, fun and great food and good joe! Thanks for your efforts

Thank you guys at Addicted for all that you guys do! Are you guys still going to put out Chile footage?
Coming up the first weekend in April!
@@AddictedFishing Very cool thank you
Steelhead fishing is just getting good for the spots I fish here in upstate New York on Lake Ontario tribs!
👍💖 I don't Steelhead fish but love your videos.
those new addicted beads are sick.....great content 😀
awesome video! wish you fly fished!!! want to see some spey rod/swinging with steelhead!!!
Awesome show and info. Have a great day
Good class thanks Oregon
Saw the fish attack that bead before the bobber down!! So epic!
Always love the videos keep em coming!! Are you fishing that bead more of a suspension set up as opposed to doggin?
Yes
Hey Jordy.. nice Steelhead.. great video
What mil bead were you using? Thnx!
Good job
What kind of scissor setup are you running? You just put a retractable cord on a pair of braid scissors?
Thanks for sharing when I’m stuck working- looking at a wall and computer screens
I caught a steelhead trout on a crank bait when fishing for large mouth bass, at a man made reservoir, is that uncommon?
Where do you guys buy your little glass beads at? I know you said before in a video but I can’t remember haha
Could I ask who runs the Tiktok account I’m curious! Love the recent content on there y’all should post more on it!
I do! I will try to get more posted. - Marlin
So with spinner bait fishing for steel head similar to spinner bait fishing for trout?
Here in northern Michigan they are coming in what would be the best way to catch
The dog was so hyped on the first fish lol

Use a #2 or 3 glass bead
Where do you get your prawns and shrimp you use to put on your your hooks on or when you're jigging w/ a bobber?
Any grocery store
Thanks guys usually do have some informative videos and they are appreciated I'm from Sacramento California and my dad got me into fishing when I was 5 years old I think mostly on the American river and he always said it was a nightcrawler stream
Once again thank you guys
At :34 what was that in the water behind Jordan? 🧐
can you explain why mend the line. what is the purpose?
Where are you fishing at I always have no luck and you guys catch all the fish
It's not just where you fishing, it's having confidence in what you're fishing!
is it possible to catch on a crank bait that is a perfect size and retrieved properly?
Depends what river, what stretch of the river, what time of the year, what color the river is, what temperature, what feed is in the river.
Do you guys prefer the cowlitz or the kalama for summer steelhead?
Both are good. The fish in the Kalama are more spooky. Use a cork colored float, not those flashy red ones.
Why is he using such a heavy pound braid? Does it cut through the water easier?
@@1Mannco sweet, thank you! Look forward to improving my setup

Are storm wiggle warts all of a sudden not cool anymore?
Can we get some bull trout how to videos this year? There is such a lack of information that I've found
We can try!
does he say 65# test line at the beginning? is that right?
Right but isn’t rod to high make a good hook set?
I was curious if you all ever use crappie tubes in your neck of the woods, and if so, what kind of set up do you prefer ?
Looks easy when your a guide
65 pound test?! SHEESHH!!
And hear I've been using 15 thinkin its too much
You don’t hear about bobber and jig methods anymore😢 I have caught so many steelhead on bobber and jig and not a lot on bead
Black jig is popular on the Cowlitz.
Thanx
I wnat to go steelhead fishing so bad but I need a ride and gear.
wait wait wait....did I hear 65 lb test? Tell me more if thats the case? Is it braided?
So they intend to bite the bead but end up grabbing an empty hook? I've never fished steelhead so I have no idea... 😔
Just bought my beads and worms🤙

The best way is to stop trying or give up hope rather... than boom!
that fish DID NOT sacrifice itself!
Where are you here?
Why did you have to cut the gills?
It bleeds the fish. Blood spoils fast so you want it out of the fish
Would love an addict hat but can’t offered on
Shoot us a message on IG buddy, we will send you one! Thanks for watching.

Best way to catch steelhead, dont fish in Oregon

Its called flossing they hit the hook while chasing the bead they dont bite
@@brendanhood28 it seems like a very inaccurate way to hook fish. I can’t believe it works at all

20 mins for 3 things dam
Three split shots…as there’s four lmao
We catch rainbow heads around here . Lol nothing steel about um
Why don’t y’all fish with cured roe anymore?
We do, Just didn’t bring it this day. Also a lot of the rivers we fish you can’t use bait.
🐟🤘🐟
My wife says I catch more rock fish than Jordan. 😅😅
First!
Start running a bait caster or pin so you don’t have all that extra line on the water and your hook sets will be 10x better
