    That was a real rough one for boats like mine and yours (got a Tyee 1850)! Hope you had your vest on, I'm a stickler for vests lol! Anyways, hope you're doing well, look forward to your spring videos!

      Hey bro. Doing good here, hope you are as well. It's been a long road, but God has healed me and kept me during it all. Getting back to work soon, and definitely can't wait to put out another spring video! Thanks for the comment. No, I didn't have my vest on, but I agree, I definitely should have! Thanks again, and have a blessed day😊

      Hey bro, thank you for the support! Congratulations on getting a bigger boat. That is always a good thing! Put-In-Bay and surrounding islands are an awesome place to fish. You will be on fish no matter if you want to or not! Seriously though, fishing up there is so good it makes you feel like you are a professional walleye angler......lol. I tell everybody that I go there for fishing therapy cause you catch so many! So here is the deal. As far as putting you on the fish, there are several tackle stores in the area. But one in particular is called HI-WAY Bait and Tackle. They also run charters if I'm not mistaken. They are very good about pointing people in the right direction. I usually stop by there every time I go up and shop around as they are loaded with everything, including great info on where and how I should be fishing. From there I will branch out on my own, skipping around and using sonar to locate fish. One thing I learned, if you are not marking many fish, they are probably too high in the water column. So just start fishing in that top part of the water column and you can end up with a quick limit. So a couple questions, what boat did you get? Also, when you say using your own stuff, what do you plan on using?

      @livebig247 hello sir. I got a ranger 1888 boat and I'm currently working on trying to learn about pulling crank baits. With planer boards extra weighs and a trolling app. Growing up around here we just used bottom bouncers. I'm good at jigging and soft plastics

    • @livebig247

      @survivingcountrylife7069 Nice boat! I definitely love trolling. I need to jig and drift more from time to time to give my troll motor a break. The precision trolling data app, good inline planner boards, line counter reels, and good rod holders will get you started on the right track. I will suggest that you look up " the loop trick" for your planner boards and learn that. Also, the precision trolling data app mostly uses Trilene XT monofilament in10lb test diameter to collect the data, so that's what I use. You can match the diameter size of other brands to the XT and get same results. They also have some data for fire line and 50/50 method using snap weights on the monofilament. The 2oz snap weight method is an awesome way to get your crankbaits down. Feel free if you have a specific question. I don't know it all, but I know what works for me and I'm happy to share😊

    I can't hear your motor as your trolling , that's awesome and is that a new net lol

      I'm using my Minnkota Ulterra 112lb thrust 36 volt trolling motor. The rubber net was replaced new this past week during my trip. The rubber coated net came with it when I bought it new last year, but it loves treble hooks and won't turn them loose....lol. Had to cut some out

    Slaying them great job ! Subscribed. New to the trolling game. Have a couple down riggers . What do you recommend for line for walleye and steelhead?

    • @livebig247
      @livebig247  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure about steelhead, haven't fished for them. I like Trilene XT 10lb test. It seems to be plenty strong for pulling in-line boards and it is what they use on the precision trolling data charts, so no guessing. I doubted the strength when I first started using it. After pulling in some trophy sheep heads and being stuck on bottom trying to break free, I learned how tough it is. Haven't broken off a fish yet. Use the same line all week for solo fishing, 6 fish limit with no issues. I spool up new though each time I run up for a week or so, too cheap not to.

    How do people prevent algae bloom to spread other water bodies like ever since Lake Erie produced algae bloom back in 2014?
    Edit: Remember the "Lake Erie Bill Of Rights"?

      Hey bro, glad to hear from you! You been doing any fishing? I've been doing some bank fishing at Alum Creek Reservoir in Columbus after my treatments. There is a bench right by the bank so I can rest periodically too....lol. Been killing the smallmouth, in the same spot! Thanks for checking on me😊
