    My Father James R Wooyhand was on the USS WEST VIRGINIA AND LIVED

    Dad was there in 1945 preparing for the invasion of Japan. After Truman dropped the second A bomb, they were told to secure their landing craft as they would not be needed to invade. Dad said all at once thousands of his brothers in arms cried, cheered and yelled. They knew they would not have to see battle. The wheel of the USS West Virginia resides in my home town of St Albans WV where it silently gives reminders of that horrific day in 1941…. Many horrific days were to follow…

    I play world of warships blitz and I have the USS West Virginia as one of the ships I play with. I have a deep respect for men and women that died at Pearl Harbor and throughout all of WWII.
