    C.D.I. you are all amazing. people think you just drive up and slap some explosives on the columns and press a detonator button and walk away and collect money. from watching the show you once had on T.V. and all your videos i know how much hard work goes into one of your jobs. even before you start and work , going out to the job looking it over. more hours of engineering looking at blue prints from the people that built the structure in the first place , thinking about how they built it , the materials they used and what they were thinking. after all that you spend hunderd's of hours of your own engineering and then you add the most important ingredient , your years and years of experiance. then you hand it over to the men and woman in the field to prep the structure . all you have to do to see the engineering is to look at the steel cables tied off to the columns to keep them up and not falling wrong. how you place the shape charges on the columns and box them to stop them from cutting detonation cord to other charges . were you place the dynamite kicker charges on all of the main support columns in the basement . checking all the work before the shot .its not just 5,4,3,2,1,fire to make a perfect out come, what you do is so awesome and your daddy would be so proud of you. you are doing things that he never dreamed of doing and doing them safely and on time. you are all awesome from the top to the bottom and you are an american company top of the line. keep it up and hand it down , god bless you all and keep safe every one . thank you for the great videos and please keep them coming.

Reminds me of the Fashion Mart in Miami: build with concrete using sand from the beach. Rot the Rebar and tear the whole thing down shortly after opening. Idiocy.

    I was in the demolition field for 30 years. Conventional Demolition, not like CDI using explosives... CDI was the contractor on a few of the jobs I ended up going on. I still remember being in downtown Detroit to watch. And on that day, the wind picked up and must have been blowing at 25-30 mph, and it certainly helped take care of the dust that day as the building fell...
    Below is a sorta short story of what happened when one of the owners of the company I worked for decided NOT TO USE CDI...
    One of the owners of the company I worked for was approached at a bar by one of CDI's competitors, so when that partner, (his name was Garavaglia, and a very well known man in Detroit), made some goofy bullshit agreement with the contractor, the day of the job, the building was setup wrong, and a bunch of charges didn't go off, then to add to that mess, the guy running the job put a lot of the shape charges in the wrong place for some reason.
    The guy blasted the building, but nothing happened. So he took a small crew back into the building to locate all the charges that didn't go off, rewire them, and then he added more charges inside the building. Next he went to blast the building for the 2nd time, still nothing. So we ended up having to start using a crane and started taking the building down with a Wrecking Ball.
    All of a sudden, the building started falling, HOWEVER lol, it fell backwards and leveled the 4 buildings behind our building. When the other owner of the company I was with came out, both partners got into a very long & loud argument. The last thing I heard the one owner say was, ''I thought you had an contract agreement with CDI to do the job, then he got into his car and left the job site. Although the job was a total mess, we ended up working about 14 hours Saturday & Sunday, to clean off those 4 buildings that were leveled...

    Is there any way you can make some videos that explain how to understand what's going on, when we watch these?
    For example, the basic steps in the sequence, how each step is triggered/timed, and how the order of steps is chosen... is it simulated in software, first?
    It seems to be a bit of an art, especially the critical safety aspects, and prevention of collateral damages.

  • @mhonella
    @mhonella ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome. It would be cool if you guys could show where and why you place the charges and how the timing effects the process. Guessing the first set of charges weakens the structure, then the last are what finishes the job?
