I Met C. Thomas Howell?? Storytime (To Celebrate My One Year Anniversary 🎉)

- For starters, before my sappy little speech, here are the questions my dad and I asked Tommy!
You know that scene from the complete novel edition of The Outsiders
where Ponyboy's in court? Well I've always wondered why Patrick and Rob started laughing so hard towards the end of that scene, right after it's announced that Pony's innocent.
And he thought about my question for a second, obviously reminiscing on all of the good memories, then replied something along the lines of, "Yeah… We were always goofing off and trying to make each other screw up their scenes.”
And now for the one my dad asked! His question specifically corresponded to Tommy’s song "Hell of a Life” where he mentions that although the movie "Grandview USA" with Jamie Lee Curtis wasn't that big of a hit, it "had some lovely benefits on the side.”
My dad jokingly asked if there was “something going on” between him and Jamie Lee Curtis during or after the filming of that movie, to which Tommy responded something like, “We don’t talk about that 😏” LMAO
Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, it’s time for the emotional stuff! To be completely honest, I’m not exactly sure what to say, since I’m pretty much speechless. I can’t even process the fact that I’ve been known as “GetYourJollies” for an entire year at this point- that’s an entire trip around the sun! I know it’s a cliché thing to say, but it honestly feels like everything happened just yesterday.
A year ago today, I was vacuuming and thinking about possible usernames, without a single idea in mind. After much contemplating, I decided to focus on some of my favorite quotes from The Outsiders. Somehow, I landed on “GetYourJollies” and it immediately felt right. Now every time I hear that quote mentioned, my ears prick up, as if someone said my name. This community has become such a huge part of my life in so many ways, as demonstrated by that one example, and I don’t know where I’d be without all of y’all. I couldn’t even list all of the impacts this fandom has had on me if I tried!
Everyone was so welcoming and sweet from day one, even though some of my earlier edits didn’t deserve those kinds of incredible, supportive comments LOL (I’d like to say I’ve improved quite a bit over the past year 💀). And TH-cam isn’t even the only community with amazing people, either. The exact same can be said for all of the people who’ve supported me on Wattpad, Instagram, and even Pinterest- love y’all too! Whether you’ve been here since day one or are just now discovering my channel, I’d like to thank you for all of your support. No comments go unnoticed (although I may not be able to directly respond to all of them), and the fact that almost 1,000 of you love my videos enough to subscribe to this stupid channel means the world to me. Y’all have been here through some of my roughest times, but never failed to brighten up my day with your overwhelming kindness, so I’d just like to say thank you 🫶

random story: i literally met matt dillon a few months ago and like i was on vacation in hollywood so i was roaming the streets with my mom and we were like in the rich side which was like 10 miles from where we were staying and yes we drove so we were like looking at all the cool houses and there was like a tall familiar face and yk me i would probably have a poloroid of matt in my belt bag so i walked up to him cause like he was jus goin for a walk n like i said i walked up to him and it was the best moment of my life because i literally asked if he was matt and my mom was in tears too because even she agrees that he was hot when he was younger so at this rate we were both in tears i was bouta scream i was literally shaking and i thought i was dreaming anyways i got a pic w him and i got my lil poloroid signed i will never forget it

That's so awesome you met C Thomas Howell. I'm meeting Ralph Macchio next month and I really really wanna meet Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon, and Tom Cruise the most. I'm really looking forward to meeting Ralph Macchio and I'll edit this comment to tell you all how the experience goes.
Edit: ok not only am I meeting Ralph Macchio on July 8th but I'm also going to be meeting C Thomas Howell on the 22nd. I'm so excited!!!
Edit: I just met Ralph Macchio and hugged him, got a picture with him, and got his autograph. He was so nice. I asked him for a hug and he said normally he doesn't like doing hugs because of COVID, but he still gave me a hug anyways. If you ever get a chance to meet him, do it. I'll let you guys know how it goes meeting C Thomas Howell.
Another edit very late: meeting c Thomas Howell was so amazing. He was the absolutely sweetest guy I've ever met. He kissed my hand. I also got a picture with him and his autograph. I also hugged him. He talked to me for like 10 minutes. I definitely want to meet him again and Ralph Macchio.
I really hope to either meet Ralph or Matt next! Totally update me on how it goes, since I’d love to live life vicariously through you LOL 🫶
