Thanks for this Landon. I'm not keen on having to have an account and am concerned about ongoing support. I had a Fender modelling amp that they decided to discontinue support for when it was only 8 years old. That removed half of the functionality from it so I'm very wary of such things now. Cheers.
I agree. Anything that relies on software, I’m out. I won’t even consider anything that could potentially be rendered obsolete by careless companies. Got burned by Guitar Port-never again.
Singer mode with that mic makes this the 21st century campfire guitar. This seems to like smooth playing without too much dynamic range. Still, a very cool thing that can be easily shipped/stored, and taken along.
I have this much needed Carbon Fiber Guitar for here in the desert SW. It will not replace my Taylor however, this ENYA NEXG, is amazing for the price. Of course, with me, all the tech it has will be found as not necessary. I will put it on the shelf when the 8 months come to bring my Taylor out without wondering if it will crack.
Please dont call enya a toy, i have played with a few enya stringed instruments for a good length of time and the more i played with it the more i am impressed. Its made for people who really play, and it does sound wonderful even for someone who is picky and demanding. they really do know how to make the necessities right.
It didn't sound that great to me and seems more like a toy than anything serious. Cool to play with though I guess. Your songs a banger though for sure. I honestly forgot about it but remembered it right away. It's catchy as hell.
Nice demo Landon! Personally i would invest the $800 On a nice acoustic. Guess I'm like you and prefer to exclude technology from acoustics. Also resale value on things with complex electronics is not good cause people worry that once the warranty expires after a year how do you get support if something doesn't work? My local guitar tech certainly won't be able to help!
I don't have a problem with technology; the way it's used by companies is what bothers me... Sunburst on strat style guitar has been done to death, I can't be excited by it no matter how interesting the tech built into is (I'm looking at you Variax)... So, composite materials, and weird looking, niche guitars is the way to go for me! I just hope those instruments don't become obsolete due to their software... Thumbs up for the honest review!
Landon Singing Mode Level: 200! Man, you should sing more. Like your voice and style. The PF shirt is choice as well. Just remember, when you're in finger mode, DO NOT (under any circumstances) finger Am! Someone had to say it! Okay, okay, I'll show myself out now.
What does an envelope filter have to do with "fusion"? I mean, it sounds funky and could be fun, it's just a sort of arbitrary name for that tone. On another note, I'm almost ready to open my new channel.
I prefer this to those Lava guitars. I've played the Yamaha silent guitar and it was great, especially for practice or traveling. I like the idea, and carbon does make for some nice instruments. I'm not into the whole online stuff for a guitar though. Also, I feel like a digital guitar would become outdated, and useless after some time.
Great review, have been thinking about the NEXG from Enya but after dealing with the crappy electronics in the Nova GO AI I am not to sure, the guitar is just fine and once I did a set up on the neck and action it is a joy to play but the onboard electronics are total crap, I am going to take it all out and fit a standard preamp in it. I like the idea of the NEXG but I just do not have much faith in the reliability of their electronics, unlike the Nova Go the NEXG is useless without its electronics. Lot of cash for $20 worth of carbon fiber.
Interesting, I like it, but I'm not sure about the quality and longevity of the built-in speakers. I guess you could plug in externally if they failed.
@@landonbailey Your video promoted me to watch this tech guy's amp reviews. Spending a lot of money doesn't make a lot of sense unless it's well built and repairable. Mugs like me would have no idea. My Roland Cube 40 has been fine, although I don't gig. So far, my son's Roland Cube 100 watt Bass amp has been reliable but he might need a backup amp. I couldn’t get over how bad the intonation was. Serious honest question: did you tune up before all those bits? If so, at least one of two things is seriously wrong with the instrument: the tuner is inaccurate as heck, or the setup is terrible. Maybe both. And since it seems that bridge is the pickup, it would be hard to set it up like a proper acoustic. Leaving alone my aversion to software-based instruments (they can be rendered useless at any moment), this is still a hard pass for me.
Great video! Small question that i have never seen any reviewer address. If you use the headphones, can the guitar be used fully silent (mute) for say apartment practice at night? Thanks!
@@landonbailey I find this to be an extreamly useful feature most reviewers just gloss over. For our city dwellers this is a make or break maybe :) Thanks!
Hey good voice! Great..seems like it would work west for a travel guitar…..maybe small room busking. Sounds best straight acoustic. Electric sound not too good.
Landon…I am so pathetic with tech stuff…I actually had to get my wife to do all the interweb crap for my helix…she set up the account and the editor…I shitteth you not…I’m an idiot with all that stuff !!!!!
Please show and explain in detail how to use the app to shape the guitar sound. Is the effect saved to the phone, the guitar (onboard) or to the cloud? How do you recall the effect for use?
The problem with this guitar, that no one talks about, is the fact that the guitar often powers off in the middle of playing a song! Damn irritating and I don't understand why such a major issue with a pretty decent guitar.
@@landonbailey every time I turn on this guitar, it asks me to activate it. I have no idea how to do that. The manual doesn’t explain it either. Can you shed some light on this?
The title silent guitar. Ok i am going to give you 👎🏻 because no one showed about how silence the guitar is, they show the ear pieces but how do i know how silence the guitar is with earphones on? I will buy it, if the guitar don’t disturb others. So no help at all with your video.
Honestly it sounds absolutely terrible to me, I wouldn't buy it for under 200. The acoustic sounds bad, the acoustic emulation electric mode too. There's no body to the sound, sounds like a cheap, poorly built guitar. Even as someone who loves tech integration, there's nothing I like about this.
hey I asked for feedback, appreciate it. I'll say that it does sound better in person. That still doesn't change my opinions about it that I mentioned at the end.

@@landonbailey It arrived today. It does not seem to take a charge or power up. -_-

Thanks! Doctor said I needed more fiber in my guitar diet.

Im not sure. from their site: Nut Width: 1-11/16 Inches & Zero Fret Design
