GX was always my favorite era. It's when I was really into this game as a kid. Wish I still had my cards. Sometimes I think about walking to the card shop down the street and think about actually playing this game for real instead of having just dueled a sibling for a little while. I like these videos...

Same. I think I was really into when Cybernetic Revolution first came out. Elemental Energy meant a lot to me when I pulled E Hero Shining Flare Wingman.
Squishy GX definitely meant a lot to most of us as kids in the early 2000’s. The guitar riffs and cool elemental Hero’s fusions and the constant duel monsters references. It was nostalgic while watching it and now it’s even more nostalgic looking back on it :)
I rewatched the anime and the nostalgia was real. I own 4 decks now and going to keep them and put my future children on Yugioh.

I remember buying three Elemental Energy 1st edition packs back in the day when they were released and pulled an Ultra rare and Ultimate rare Shining Flare Wingman, that was a truly awesome moment, crazy luck. Still have them to this day : )

I remember an ad on Kids WB with Dartz giving away a Lost Millennium box (with like 3 or 4 packs) when that season was wrapping up in the summer of 2005. GX Premiered in the U.S. in Fall 2005. It was so awesome having a new episode of Yu-Gi-Oh 6 days a week for a few weeks here and there. GX aired on Cartoon Network Monday-Friday while Season 5 of the Original Series aired weekly on Kids WB. Good times.

Nothing can replace the smell of gx cards
These are my favorite openings! I started playing in 2002. Man I'm old. This brings back memories of going to Toys-R-Us and getting the random packa in line! Not blister packs or hangers. They had legit booster boxes open by the counter and you picked whatever you wanted. Man thank you for these videos.
Wish stores would still do that! Be cool also if they reprinted the Booster sets as a 20th anniversary Edition, so LOB. MRD etc all 20th anniversary cards

This was definitely my era of Yugioh for me. Of course I watched the Original series and had the cards. However, I never bought any booster packs for the original series, I only kept buying decks lmao. I didn’t know you had to buy packs to make your deck better haha.
GX was when I actually started buying booster packs and hunting for cards lol. I also got very into the GX anime and I liked it even better then the original series lol. This video was very nostalgic for me lol.
I pulled raviel lord of phantasms 1st edition in one of those shadow of infinity booster packs I only bought one pack my 1st one 9 years ago I was 18 didn’t think much of it I sold it at my local card store for $5 🤦🏽♂️ I regret it..

I remember being in the 5th grade in 2002 and buying my first deck of cards (kaiba) at cvs in my little hometown. They turned that cvs into a auto parts store and cvs moved and built a new building across the street now, but I will never forget the excitement of getting that deck and feeling like I was unstoppable with my blue eyes. Good times

You should open a 1st edition box of one of these sets of your choosing and do a search for the 1000$ card if graded a 10. Then you could even send off the card if you pulled it and see if you could get a 10 and boom its worth the price of the box!

They're definitely classic to me. I grew up with the original sets through my older brothers but didn't start buying boosters of my own until the GX series.
