Just love your vids and commentary.. Reminds me so much of how I fished in my younger years. in a similar boat. Today you remind how I forgot to fish in those days. . it is amazing how greedy fish are and big baits are no deterrent. LOVE YOUR WORK.
I do wish I knew which one you were 😂 I met so many people. Was great to see the young gun fisherman collect there prizes jet and Boston always do well 🤙
@ I was the lady that got Shannon to take a photo of us at the tent!! I’ll send you the pics he took haha! ☺️ such a great day with even better people!
"Light Lines"..... I accidentally messed up my spool of line on a week long fishing/camp out & all I had was some 6lb test to get thru the week. I caught more & bigger fish than everyone else.... lmao, I also lost more than some people caught but I digress. After seeing how much better I could get fish hooked & I mean some large fish hit very slight. They can suck it in their mouth, taste, and spit it before you know they are biting but w/ the light lines you have so much better feel on the bite. But when ya do start using light line you need a good smooth drag w/ a matching rod for balance. I started using spinning reels after that b/c I like them & many good reels w/ send you an extra spool so I can spool up w/ 2 different line tests. You boys are some fine anglers...... peace
Amazing and I highly agree alot more bites. I also like the fact it will cast twice as far as the thicker stuff, double bonus. Thankyou mate appreciate it 🤝👍
I'm blaming you boys when I start disappearing for days to fish, that you got me going again after 20 yrs of not fishing but I do mean it, you are getting me enthusiastic about buying some gear. Thanks & I'll be here to see the next chapter. be safe & peace
Great video as usual Luke. It’s great to watch normal bread and butter fishing! Instead of all this Barra fishing that gets pumped into us! Keep up the great work mate. Look forward to introducing myself if I ever see you around the Hawkesbury. 👍🤞
When say a small ball sinker they look big on camera would they be a 1 or 2. I usually use 00 or 0. Is there an advantage or disadvantage? Also I’ve often wondered about turned down eyes on hooks. Should you snell that type or just tie the old blood or uniknot ?
I'm impressed with the question and yes it matters alot, I will try my best to explain. Small sinkers or no sinker are great for low current areas, makes for a more natural bait presentation. Hooks change the way you fish. I use octopus BKK or gamagatsu however it's spelt. It's a active hook so needs to be striked it's the way I have always fished. Circles are good because they usually always hook up in the corner of mouth, but they are no good for drifting or active fishing. The bent eye needs to be spot on. Some cheap hooks.i believe the angle is wrong and misss alot of strikes. I can go on all day about tackle 😂 I hope this answer some of questions.
@@huntersfishingadventures5324 thanks that helped a lot. I agree with sinker info. More current the bigger you go . The bent eye hooks I use are usually suicide type and I’ve wondered of tying the snell would improve hookup or normal connection when you strike sets it better. There’s not much info on that stuff out there. Thanks for your time to answer my questions. I’ve only been fishing for 60 yrs+ and love it. Don’t care whether I catch or not it’s just the challenge. I’ve done everything except big game , outside fishing and fly fishing ,fresh and salt , and love all styles. I just like to observe other peoples styles and often learn new techniques and run little experiments to see what rig works best where and when and enjoy the confirmation that my ideas/ thoughts do work and just weren’t flukes . lol. The majority of my fishing has been with inexperienced people or solitary so good to see successful fishers using same techniques I’ve developed. Wish I had the internet and access to all the info out there now when I was younger. Especially great presenters like yourself who are so down to earth and aren’t out to try and impress with their knowledge ,equipment and success but instead just want to share the highs and lows of a great hobby lifestyle. Thankyou
Wish I could have got out on a Saturday and got onto a few like you did Luke. I bet you were spewing after throwing them all back. You would have got 5 m worth of fish easy mate if you only threw them on the mat😅
It was not to bad I would say half the amount of boats of lake Mac comp. Pretty well run comp with huge prizes and free entry. The other comps need to step it up

Was fishing just up from you at the rip Saturday. Crazy amount of people in the comp good to see you out there mate!
I do love that area at dusk and dark. How did you go mate? I assume you were one of the boat in the slightly deeper water towards the rip?
@ pulled up a couple mid 60 flatties from that spot. It’s such a fun spot at dusk.Got smoked by something pretty huge and called it quits 😂

A mate lost 5 big yellas in a comp because keytag wasn’t in pics, had to catch 15 to make his top 10 😂

Thankyou mate 🤝 make sure you say hello if you see me 👍
Those flatties had a lot of fight left for the boat 😂 usually the big girls are pretty chill
They were psycho. I don't think they like the mat, it's in the bin now 😂
If you saw Luke staring down at you from the boat, I’d play up too! 😂
I hope you win 🥇
I wasn't in the comp but i pick up a thick 35cm Whiting on a top water popper over weekend.
Always gets the heart going. That would of been fun, nice catch 🤙

Blood knot is best keeps the angle on the strike 👍

You'll get it next year mate you had so many good fish coming on board😊
what size long shanks for the nippers
Size 2 for bream and whiting size 4 for specifically whiting 👍
That sucks mate still some good fish caught. Heard it was pretty busy on the water down there.
It was not to bad I would say half the amount of boats of lake Mac comp. Pretty well run comp with huge prizes and free entry. The other comps need to step it up
Good luck 👍
You thinking about when you travel the country going in comps?
No, but if I'm in right place at right time I may enter a few 🤙
Have you fired shannon yet?
😂🤣 no we really are good mates, we even work together lol
Not wrong about podium finish, Make sure your back for redemption next December mate.
Great well organised comp well done 👍
Are you not allowed to use chum?
Yes you can, chum or as we call it Burley was not really suited to our fresh baits and live baits
