We are buying a house in clear lake ,don’t known anything about the area. Can you message me and help me out? I don’t ice fish but love open water fishing.
@@ronstrohman672 I think your best bet would be to stop in at the local tackle shop and ask around! I’m not too familiar with that area, but anywhere Minnesota is a great place to try ice fishing. There’s an abundance of lakes and once you get out and try a couple times, you’ll start to figure it out!
This was a good watch 👍🏽 I've got a really good tip for a beer batter you need to try. Fry Krisp. Just don't mix it too thick. Make it so you can almost still see the fish . Its excellent for deep frying. Its like $8 for a 5lb bag. I think they do have smaller boxes of it also. Make sure to try it. Crappie, walleye or even deboned pike its good on. Heat your deep fryer to 365-375 degrees before you drop them in.
@@dylanzitzloff, I picked up a 13 fishing snitch pro rod a couple years ago. Mine is a 32" and I think it is in that noodle light power category. It has a pretty quick tip. So far it is doing the job.
Great day. I used to keep those big 14” and bigger crappy on smalllakes but the lake populations dropped and the quality went down. I went to releasing everything over 13” and the lakes and quality of crappy really bounced back. Do you see any of that on the smaller lakes your fishing? In my experience those big breeders are so important. Maybe not in your case🤷🏼♂
Yes that is definitely true. I normally only keep crappie 11” and smaller. However, because we were fishing in 35-40ft, if we were to release the fish, the likelihood of survival is slim to none. This is the only instance where I keep what I catch. I try not to fish this deep too often. Thanks for watching David! Good luck this year
18k views and my bois are gliding on the ice with skates? thats sick man, well deserved
Ayeeee, thanks my man!
Ice fishing sitting on buckets moving around on ice skates. Ausome !!!

Thank you Ben! Means a lot!
I'll be chasing em this weekend at my local gravel pits. Getting em in 17 ft. water suspended 7 ft. off the bottom. Great vid boyz.
Thank you Michael! Good luck this weekend!
Crappie fishing is the best. I live in the twin cities and can’t wait to get out!
Crappies are the best to catch through the ice!

Thank you for the insight!!! I will definitely have to try it this winter
What makes the crappies that golden color ? Never seen before way cool ! 😎
I’m pretty sure it’s because of limestone and the mining that occurs in the nearby area!
Absolutely gorgeous. I'm in Maine and get some of those Golden beauties
They are so cool!
What is the average rod and reel set up for you guys crappie fishing??? Power rod??? Test line???
I would try a 28-32” light/ultralight with 4-6lb test! That’s usually what I use but it depends on the person and what they prefer
