You actually won't necessarily feel any rough running when on idle and full rich mixture. Even when the plugs are being fouled. This is why we have to seperate the mags in the run ups to check for fouled plugs, this way we can feel and see the rough running on the rpm gauge also
Hi Rupert Smith thanks for sharing such great information and doing this demo tutorial, I use Thrustmaster Hotas warthog and Saitek combat pedal and wanted to know to tweak Saitek combat rudder pedals dead zones and sensitivity.Would you mind shed a bit of light on how you would config rudder pedals inside Windows,Ctrl panel, Device & printers game controller's? thanks in advance ...
Hi excellent job wandering if this project works with any other aircraft or only with the one you are doing the demonstration on ? Thank you for sharing
Im very excited to see the diy transducer video, specifically the one which uses magnetic suspension. How would you rate the performance of these shakers compared to the ones which use dc motors?
DC motors cannot produce the higher frequencies, but they are good at very low frequency. The piston type transducers have a very wide operation frequency range, from low to high frequency.
The motion platform will of course be added again. I left it out for this video because I wanted to show how to add vibration only, which is doable for most setups, whereas motion platforms are not feasible not everyone.
The current BFF software is designed for flightsimulators. But you can read at bffsimulation.com/BFF_Shaker_Driver.php that a future version will support car racing sims as well. Of course you can use the present BFF shaker driver with only audio input from the car racing sim, which should give already nice results (depending on the low frequency content in the racing sim audio)
Hi, do you know what the shaker-driver-amplifier board sends out - is it a voltage-output or a current-output? (Voice-coil actuators can be nicely force-controlled with a current, but depend on resistive or inductive impedance & back-EMF when driven with a voltage. Most "audio" amplifiers just send out a voltage proportional to the input.)
Indeed the Bass shaker driver sends out a voltage proportional to the input signal. The impedance of the transducer at the specific frequency will determine the current. Transducer impedance is resistive at very low frequency, then shows a peak at the resonance frequency and then rises as frequency increases. It more or less behaves as a speaker. The transducer magnetic spring (and optional mechanical spring) together with the magnet strength, airgap and piston friction and weight will determine the vibration output. A good design provides snappy well damped vibration over a wide frequency range. To achieve this is quite complex, but the transducers I showed behave really well (better than the Buttkicker in this respect).
Thank you Roland, I Learned a lot by your video, but can you explain or do you have any tutorial to how DIY a transducer like your, did you built it from scrach or dis you adapt it from some component. Thanks for your response and thanks for the greet job you did for the community
Thanks for your comment! The transducers I showed working were made from components that are used in an industrial linear motor (cryo pump). I'm now trying to replicate these with home made materials (the hand-made components and coils shown. But I need a lathe, so this is delaying the development, as I'm now trying to build a simple lathe for this purpose. :-)
As far as I know the haptic wearable vest like KOR FX have their own transducer amplifiers build-in. The shaker driver also includes the amplifier, so this is a conflict. You may be better off using the rumble card without amplifier. bffsimulation.com/BFF_Shaker.php Have a look at th-cam.com/video/ctYQd9Yu5v8/w-d-xo.html to see how to get audio level feed from this card.
Hi Roland, love the video! I would like to do this project to my sim but when I emailed BFF Simulations my email was kicked back. Do you know if he is still in business? Thank you for your help!
Hi Andrew, I just send Ian Hopper of BFF simulations an email and it worked OK. He's still selling these Shaker Cards, so please send him an email again. If it does not work please provide me your contact info, then I'll forward it to Ian.
if his accent didn't give him away, his website most certainly did. Gave projectjes meneer! Ik ga zeker naar uw videootjes kijken. Ik wil heel gauw beginnen aan mijn eigen cockpit for Digital combat simulator,
Ik ook. En Ik Engels zijn.! Te geck,eh? I vind deze idee uitstekend. Goed video. Now I write English. What a neat concept, so simple and cheap. Awesome. Better than a buttkicker.
This would be a neat system for a train simulator or even a racing simulator cockpit.
You have just acquired a new fan!!! I will learn as much as I can from you!!

My F16AM cockpit needs this😎😎
Thx for sharing
This is too cool, my wife is going to hate me.
Excellent ingenuity and craftsmanship. Very creative!
thanks for the video, this vibrator should be used as an actuator for a F1 racing sim.
Laughing my ass off at 12:00. Also great for home theater application.

Did you ever finish the other video for a more detailed look of the shaker you designed. Also any progress for racing simulators?
Great stuff. A2A aircrafts are fantastic.
Hi excellent job wandering if this project works with any other aircraft or only with the one you are doing the demonstration on ?
Thank you for sharing
Impressive way to show something you cannot portray very well on video. Good job.
Thank you so much for sharing your insight and expertise.
Thanks Roland.... i was make my own DIY cockpit and this video give to me a good idea. Very clever!... Greetings from Argentina
I like it a lot! A very good Project to be done with my kids!
Nice video, thanks :)
I would love to make one of these and add it to my wife's recliner without her knowing about it :)

So nice to have the brains to do this.
Nicely explained how this works !!!
What happened to your motion platform? I was really looking forward to more from you in that direction :-)
Awesome detail as usual.
The motion platform will of course be added again. I left it out for this video because I wanted to show how to add vibration only, which is doable for most setups, whereas motion platforms are not feasible not everyone.
Great!! Was wondering if you were going a different direction. Thanks for the reply.
Wow.
Would not wonder, if this guy one day travels back in time by accident in his cockpit.
Thanks for this video.... great information im going to build one of these for sure.
Nice! Does it give you stall as well?
Yes, see 4:05
The shaker looked to have about a 2 second delay from the flight sim. Is that true or is your video out of sync?
The video is out of sync. There Is hardly any delay. Touchdown bumps are felt exactly when the wheels touch the ground .
really interested in the transducer diy vid :) great vid btw....thankyou
Can I use it on car games also, using the bff amp and software?

Thanks for the response, I guess my Asus Xonar Essence STX II wont work? As it doesn't have the black sub line-out. Asus Xonar DGX 5.1 be good enough?

Thanks Roland .. Good Job .. looking forward.. I will experimente the other solution you show, blocked DC Motor ! What do you think? Cheers ..
Nice work! :)
This is awesome..I have a haptic feedback wearable vest.. Do you know if the shaker software will add these nuances to my vest?

Rolandvanroy Thank you! Happy New Year!
will this work in il-2?
Great video
Zo Roland. Dit heb je gaaf gemaakt zeg.
Very nice ! Can you teach me how to do this?
Thank you for this excellent advice.

Fantastic !
Great info. Thanx a lot
How can I get one of these?
bffsimulation.com/BFF_Shaker_Driver.php
Really cool!
I WISH SOMEONE WOULD VIDEOS ON motion simulator how to get motion
who can give dislike to this ?
Xplane people
@@cirurginn i'm a x-plane person and this is really interesting. Thumbs up
Oh, if only we could get this kind of functionality for Elite: Dangerous...
u are a genius
Very cool!
how to build a vibrator
I got a feeling he could be Dutch!!!!

taketimeout2 Google translate?
single question though: How much do your neighbors hate you?
They were Zombies. He took care of them long ago.
show muito maneiro
Holy shit, why didn't u just buy a real plane? I know all that had to cost an arm and a leg! That is incredible!
Nice work.
