This is so true...especially the part about coordinating the adults' schedules and motivating them to learn the material. I've been trying to form a band to do my music for about 3 years now without success. Now, I'm not really the acoustic guitar and microphone type of performer, as my music is a little more hard rock, requiring drums, bass, solos, etc... What would you say about someone performing with bass and drums backing tracks while playing guitar and singing? Do you think bars would pay people for that?
I don't have any personal experience with that style but plenty of people do looping which would be similar. I think it all depends on how you market yourself and finding the right bars that like the music you play. Having videos or a website will help show people what you do and give them an idea if you would be a good fit for their venue. Hope this helps!
