Use your 1×30 , I use mine for inside curve blades , karambit, hawkbill pruners, tracker styles, the narrow belts are awesome for that , affix it to a jig with the two high points even & then "hug" the outside edges of platen a bit.

What 1x30 belt grinder do you use?
      And also what's the price?

The WEN was a gift , the harbor freight runs between 50-75 depending on sales

So when you were lasering your logo you said you didn’t like it and switched to a different laser. What laser was the first one and what do you change it to?

Thanks for the video. I did submit my blade, but messed up the subject line (it was the orange paracord blade) and the tag in instagram. Hope I still made the cut

As per Neil Kamimura's Kukri build video you need to use the edge of the contact wheel rather than the full surface of the belt.

Heck yeah sir! Glad to be of service. 🫡 - I’m not sure I’ll make the deadlines for the build along due to some family commitments; but this knife will be on my list for sure 👍… I'll need to try some gator piss!

I used my Palmgren 2x42 with the flat platen. As I pulled the blade across the belt, I followed the curvature, bringing it upwards towards the tip. It made it feel more natural for the bevel grinding. I tried using the bottom wheel as a contact wheel like you, but I had the same problems you were.

I wasn't able to get my knife finished. As of today, I have everything ground, shaped, hand sanded up to 320, holes punched. I'm hoping I will be able to normalize and heat treat tomorrow night or on Friday night, and start working on the grips. Hope to be finished by Sunday.
I did everything mostly by hand, had family in town, and waited forever to get all my materials delivered. But I'm close.
I'll send in some pics when I'm done, although you'll probably have released the video. Looking fwd to seeing other people's submissions, but not until I finish mine....haha.
Will try again in March, or whenever the next one is.

I just etched 2 Damascus blades in gator piss and I wasn't happy with the finish. It says you don't have to coffee darken but I did it anyway and they turned out great. I kinda like that little knife 👍

It turned out well, but it seems to me that if the handle were made of wood, it would be better.
